Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 : The Elven Kingdom

Edmond's point of view :

Alert. The mortal body has reached its fixed usage quota. Next use available in [00:59:59] minutes.

"Wow," I said with a cold sweat on my forehead. I was hot and almost disappeared in mid-sentence. Next time I should pay more attention to the weather.

"Well done, Edmond! That was beautiful, you chose to present yourself as a God to the humans, isn't it fun to be in the spotlight? " Nishley said as he laughed and watched the people of Humec build temples and shrines for me.

It was stressing me out instead of enjoying myself. At that moment I was watching the battle in the middle, not seeing it. A soldier who wasn't paying attention to his back was about to be eaten by a giant wolf. Feeling guilty, I instinctively helped him by launching an attack.

As soon as I revealed myself, all eyes turned to me. Embarrassment and anxiety paralysed me, I was lucky not to have to speak at first. I probably would have stuttered in front of everyone, that would have been uncomfortable. Especially for me. So I tried to quickly kill the monsters, then announce a few cool phrases and leave like that, but just before I disappeared, the town lord interrupted me and asked who I was, so I pulled out a little quote I'd read in one of the cool novels I had in my head and quickly disappeared.

It's only been a few seconds since I came back from the mortal world, but for mortals it's already been a few years. While I had presented myself as an almighty God, in a few years I had become the God of humans. "Ah... What a pain in the ass."

"Ahah, Edmond. It was probably intended that you become their God. Humans always turn facts into what suits them. At least you became a god of your own race," Nishley winked and comforted me.

On the one hand, it's true. Maybe that's not so bad. "On the other hand, how do you turn off this spam?

A mortal prays to you. [+1] of power of faith.

A mortal has offered you an offering [+1 giant wolf meat].

A mortal prays to you. [+1] power of faith.

A mortal prays to you. [+1] power of faith.

... [+999 pending notifications]

"You just need to remember to turn off the notifications in your mind," Nishley says, looking at me like an idiot.

Notification disabled.

Ah yes, indeed.

"Nishley, what is the power of faith?" I say, looking at the notifications that pop up in the status window. 'Oh. I was offered giant wolf meat. "Why??!"

The power of faith is the energy that the "creator" draws from the mortal world. It's kind of like mana but for creators, you know what I mean?" said Nishley, becoming Professor Nishley again.

"Oh, I see. Isn't that the power I borrowed from you to heal all humans?" said I, looking at the glowing power manifesting in my hand.

"Indeed, it is the power of God. In the battles of the worlds, the creators cannot use all their powers during the fight. That is why a rule was put in place. Creators must fight with the power of faith that comes from the mortals of their world, which allows creators to protect not only their lives but also the mortals that make up their world. she said in an explanatory tone.

I see! So, to increase my fighting power, I need to increase the number of believers in my world. It sounds simple. It might help me when fighting other worlds, since the /kill feature is only useful against species that come from my worlds. Although quite useful in case of betrayal.

Additional options [FREE]

/kill: [19] Allows the user to kill any living thing from their world with a single thought. Useful for living beings that gang up on their masters. The recharge cost of a /kill is 20 CP.

Mist: Allows the user to hide their appearance from those around them.

Aura of Authority: Allows the user to be charismatic: Allows the user to be charismatic: Allows the user to be charismatic and authoritative to those around them. Useful for turning a native into a believer.

It costs so much. I've already used a lot of my available /kill just to kill the little monsters in my world.

"Nishley, can't we take out the monsters in my world?" I said with a puzzled look. 'Besides, have I ever put a monster in my world?

"Yes, you can. You can remove them from your world, but I wouldn't recommend it," Nishley shook his head and continued his explanation. "Removing the only way to raise the level of mortals in the world would greatly reduce the evolution of your world.

Indeed, from a certain point of view, it seems balanced. In exchange for the ability to gain levels by killing them, the world's inhabitants must prove themselves. That's the rule of the system, I suppose.

"Nishley, let's go see the elves now," I say, taking one last look at the humans. Moments later, Nishley and I landed on the wall of the elven capital, Elfheim.

****************************

At the Royal School of Elfheim, the teacher stood before his students, an ancient book in the Elvish language in his hands.

"Today we will talk about the kingdom of Elfheim," he began. "Elfheim is the first Elven kingdom created in history, founded by the first Elf to ever live: Elyndor Elfheim himself."

The students' eyes lit up at the name. They had all heard the story of Elfheim, but no one could tell the details.

"Elfheim was a very wise and powerful elf," the teacher continued. "He was able to communicate with nature and animals through the ability given by the world system, and he had a deep knowledge of magic. He used his gifts to found the kingdom of Elfheim, the first elven kingdom in history."

The students started asking questions, wanting to know more about the history of Elfheim. "How did she found the kingdom?" asked one of them.

"Elfheim travelled through the lands, looking for a place where the elves could live in peace," the teacher explained. "He finally found a magical place, a place where nature was very strong and where the elves could thrive. Under the majestic world-tree, She used her magic to build the first houses and buildings of Elfheim, and the elves settled in the kingdom, currently named after the current queen Elyndor Elfheim."

Elwynn listened attentively to the professor. She was fascinated by the history of Elfheim and the wisdom of its founder, Elfheim. She wondered how this elf had managed to build such a beautiful and prosperous kingdom.

The teacher continued to explain the history of Elfheim, describing how the kingdom had prospered over the years. He spoke of the other elven tribes that joined Elfheim in the kingdom, and how they worked together to build a thriving and united society.

Elwynn was amazed by this story. She had always known that Elfheim was a special place, but she didn't know how important it was in elven history. She was eager to learn more about how the elves had lived in Elfheim, and the adventures and battles they had experienced.

The teacher finally finished his story, and the students applauded. Elwynn got up from her chair, excited to find out more about the history of Elfheim.

"Professor, can you tell us more about the adventures of the elves in Elfheim?

The professor smiled. "Of course, Elwynn," he replied. "The elves of Elfheim have had many adventures and challenges over the years, such as the constant attacks of monsters. But their solidarity has always guided them through the most difficult times, which led to the creation of the largest and safest city of our race, the capital Elvandar, with almost 60% of the elves inside the walls. The remaining 40% are scattered in medium-sized cities towards the borders of the Elfheim kingdom in order to protect the capital from any enemy attack that may appear. » Said the professor as he pulled out of his desk a large map of the current elven cartography, showing the territories currently occupied by the Elfheim kingdom as well as the elven cities.

Elwynn smiled at these words. She was proud to be part of such a strong and brave community. She knew that the history of Elfheim would always inspire her to become a better elf and to work hard for the good of her kingdom.

When class was over, Elwynn joined some of her elf friends in the schoolyard. They greeted each other and began to discuss the history of Elfheim.

"I didn't know our kingdom had such a rich history," Elwynn said, "I am proud to be part of this community and to protect the land of our ancestors," she said with a proud tone.

"Yes, it's amazing to think that our ancestors built this kingdom from scratch," Alear, a classmate close to Elwynn, replies with a laugh.

"Imagine all they had to overcome to create Elfheim," added Legolas, Elwynn's best friend, "the epic battles against monsters and enemies, and the construction of these magnificent elven buildings.

"I'm sure our ancestors had incredible skills and knowledge," said another friend. "I bet they discovered secrets and magical knowledge that we don't even know about today," exaggerating his race's history.

Elwynn smiled, listening to her friends' ideas and theories. She realised that her race had a wealth of knowledge and experience worth exploring and preserving. That their race was the best in the world, united and powerful.

Finally, Elwynn had to leave. She greeted her friends and began to walk home, looking at the tall elven buildings around her. She was proud to be part of this community and all that it stood for.

"We are the guardians of this realm," she murmured, remembering her teacher's words. "And I will become a great person, useful to the kingdom. No monster can destroy us," she said as she walked home, her tone determined.

Yet Elwynn did not know that something dark and threatening was brewing beneath the roots of the world-tree, ready to shake the peace of Elfeim at any moment.
