Chapter 11 - Chapter 11 : The battle of Elvandar part 3

A duel in front of the queen's palace, near the gate, the last line of refuge for the elves.

"Please think twice!"

"It's too dangerous!"

"My queen, are you really sure you're doing this...?" asked Eronh and the other elves on the council with concern.

Before I walked through the palace gate, Eronh spoke to me. Elder was looking down on me from the open space.

Perhaps he was confident of his victory, with his grip tightening on his sword that glowed darkly in his hand and his black-coloured tack that glowed dangerously.

Looking at this, I calmly opened my mouth.

"Don't worry," I reassured the elves.

"I am confident that even though it is a monster of strength commanding before me and I am weakened, I will show no weakness to my enemy," I said with trembling legs, weakened by the effect of the poison.

The elves meanwhile looked at their queen through the windows and doorway with concern.

"Have you forgotten my determination?" said Eryndor with a determined look as he walked slowly towards the small arena set up by the Elder monsters.

"Yet, in this state you will not be able to defeat Elder with your current state..." trying to convince Eryndor, to think twice before going.

"...Your words are strange. Do you want me to win or lose?" said Eryndor, frowning in anger.

"What?"

"My only goal is definitely to protect my people. Are you talking about winning or losing after I have given myself such a goal?"

"Ha, but..."

"Your role is to watch me in silence. It is not to disrupt me in my fight with unnecessary noise..."

The reason he insists so much must be because of my childhood relationship with Eronh.

A childhood promise to marry.

I know, why he was reacting like this out of fear.

I, Queen Elfheim and Eronh, elf of the council, were only different in our roles. It was impossible for us to marry, our ranks were too far apart and it was only recently that with great effort Eronh managed to join the elven council. It was a tragic childhood, I had to take on the role of a ruler for the people, to lead them in the right way while Eronh looked back at me, trying to catch me, blocked by the elven customs that the senior members of the elves must marry each other to keep the blood extremely pure. As children of a small tribe, we were only naive children but by some luck or misfortune our paths drifted with the oracle obtained by the goddess.

To be precise, the relationship between the two of us broke down because I chose the reality of the image and politics of the elven aristocracy, although I regretted it, I could not blame myself.

It was the only path I could take, but now.

"Eronh."

"Yes, my queen...?"

"If I come out of this duel alive, I will accept that our childhood promise will come true." I said assertively.

"Eryndor..." said Eronh in surprise.

"Well, well... Have you finished saying goodbye?" Elder said mockingly.

Around the small arena were monsters that formed a closed circle, preventing me from running away as all the elves watched the fight through the windows.

I walked across the floor of the arena with a determined step.

"The rules of the duel are simple. Gronk. Fight to the death for both sides, it only ends when one side dies," announced an orc acting as a referee.

It was a simple but bloody rule.

Elder stretched and tensed his muscles

"Aren't you stretching? Are you hurt?" laughed Elder, knowing I was affected by his poison.

"Are you able to worry about me right now?"

"I wouldn't want to kill you easily, that wouldn't be fun for anyone, I would want to see and feel the despair of your people when your head is detached from your head."

I sniffed and silently drew my sword.

[Elven Sword]

"Are you sure you only want to use one sword? You won't last long with that thin sword," said Elder, judging my sword.

"Say the one, who carries only one sword too."

"'Sigh'. I'll show you the difference between the two of us."

"Then I'll finish this fight real quick and make you regret attacking us."

I didn't care to fight Elder for long

Apart from my exceptional flexibility and fighting instincts, I was not able to take all the sword attacks with weakened raw strength. I didn't even have the confidence to respond to every raw strength move.

So there was only one choice to make.

Kill him as quickly as possible.

"Illusion sword technique."

I took my stance, powering my legs with all my strength and powering my sword with magic to strengthen.

It was an attack in preparation to leap directly at Elder like a cannonball.

"Ha! Do you think I'm stupid enough to give you time to use your technique?!" shouted Elder almost teleporting onto Eryndor as he fiercely threw his sword with embers on it. I swung my sword at the ground and muttered as he tried to quickly close the distance with his sword.

"Not elven."

I moved my body to where he was so much say Elder's sword hit the ground heavily sending dust flying.

"This skill...! You're still hiding a lot, aren't you?"

Of course, I wouldn't be so foolish as to rush headlong into a duel without preparation, tsk.

"Sword storm."

The sword was swinging in the air with the sensation of splitting in two, slowly the air being transmitted to all fingers.

Not bad. The explosion, which started from the floor of the arena, continued to one side of the arena, where only the monsters were watching from the side.

The screams of the audience could be heard throughout the arena.

It was the strongest blow I could create at my disposal. Only I could speak normally in this place.

I glanced at the smoke that was disappearing from the impact of the explosion and saw that Elder was still standing in the same place, leaving the audience with their mouths wide open.

"That was a very interesting attack, that was the strongest attack you could throw? My turn!" Elder shouted

He hit the ground where he stood, the reinforced earthen floor cracked and fragments popped up everywhere.

He approached without hesitation, swinging his sword at my neck.

CLANK!

As his sword collided with the magic sword, a magical glow erupted.

He immediately grabbed some daggers and hid them under his belt and swung them at Eryndor.

"Shit!" shouted Eryndor as he disappeared in the explosion.

"EXPLOSION!"

BOOOMM

All of a sudden a long column of smoke took position in the whole arena leaving the audience in suspense.

"So, are you still alive? This is my revenge!" laughed Elder, savouring his victory.

SWIIICH

CLINK

"What?! My daggers?" said Elder, stunned by the surprise attack.

Elwynn jumped out of the smoke and threw a sword at Elder who easily blocked it.

"YOUU!" shouted Elder, annoyed by the intervention of a third party.

"HMPF! A person who doesn't respect the rules of a duel! If that's all you have then go home!"

'CLACK'

"Eat this! Light!"

The moment Lewynn mentioned the name of his element, a divine light burst from his palm. At the same time, Lewynn's green hair was dyed yellow.

"Do you think you can beat me with so little?!" shouted Elder.

He took his two-handed sword and created a dark elemental type sword, characteristic of monsters, from his elements.

[Explosion Strike!]

"I wanted to try that too! Try to cash in on it!" said Lewynn as she channeled her power of faith, grabbing her sword with both hands, she prepared herself.

"Godslayer divine sword!"

The two launched their attacks almost at the same time, and Lewynn and Elder collided in the magical flames that were wreaking havoc.

CLINK! CLINK!

Blast after blast, each time the magic collided, sparks collided, sparks flew in all directions giving a strange sort of sword dance performance between Lewynn and Elder.

"BOOM!"

I narrowly escaped, Elder's sword splitting the air.

"Watch your left!" shouted Eryndor to the ground.

"Left?! Shit!" shouted Lewynn, who lost his sword as he parried Elder's heavy sword strike.

"This is your end!!!"

"No!" shouted Lewynn narrowly dodging Elder's sword as she lowered her head. She retrieved her sword and tried to aim for a counter.

However, Lewynn's attacks lacked strength so much that Elder missed with the increased agility of her elf race giving her a temporary advantage as Lewynn's attacks inevitably resulted in mortal wounds if Elder took the sword hits.

BOOM!

Elder's sword slashed in a straight line and split the air again as Lewynn's sword slammed into Elder's right side.

"What kind of fencing is this...!"

Elder grunted as he swung his sword, contracting his strong muscles.

Lewynn attacked once more, aiming for Elder's legs, but got his leg caught by Elder's hand.

"Elder laughed as he swung his sword at Elwynn's neck.

"NO!" shouted all the elves who were watching the scene with desperate faces.

"Yes, chief! Eekk! Cut her out!" Shouted the monsters who were getting excited about the fight.

"No!" Lewynn saw the sword strike coming, by the time the sword landed on her, she would probably be cut in half, she closed her eyes in expectation of her death.

"Nishley. We can't let her die," Edmund said, calmly watching the battle.

"I know it's my turn. It's my turn to have my moment of glory, look at me!" said Nishley as she disappeared.

"Lewynn, if you want to live, lend me your body, it's the only chance for your species to avoid extermination" she said.

"Yes, I accept! Lewynn immediately accepted without thinking and temporarily transferred control of her body.

Suddenly, just as everyone expected Lewynn to die, she turned her leg violently, forcing Elder, who was holding her tightly, to be ejected towards the place where the monsters were limiting the arena.
