A tense silence settled in the room. Nobody uttered a word as they all processed what they just heard. It was too much to take in and too sudden that they didn't get a chance to ponder over it.
Sylvia and Lina remained silent, watching the six men.
Sigerten was the first one to break that silence. "Nobody will believe that Favian was such a monster."
Lina was alarmed. "I... I think so too. I cannot even share this with my parents or even Roger once he is back. P-please, don't tell this to anybody.
They... they will not let me live in peace. And Roger... he... Oh god! I don't even want to imagine what he would do to me!" She began crying, covering her face with her palms.
Sylvia rubbed her back to calm her, but she knew Lina was right.
"I don't care about myself, but Lina is right. Nobody will believe in Favian's sins. As a woman, Lina will be at fault in their judgement.
