Chapter 40 - Let's Continue...

"Y-y-you..." The speechless Eve pointed her index finger at Seth, not knowing how to reproach him.

"Your wife barely returned from death. You should be spending quality time with her but here you are indulging yourself in the arms of another woman while leaving her lonely and cold at home. And this is what makes you the bigger scum," Seth voiced out his mind without fear.

He shot Eve with piercing glares and turned to leave afterwards.

"If you have so much spare time then why don't you use that to warn your wife to keep her distance from Giavanna instead of always kissing up to her because of what she would get from her," Xander warned while staring at Seth's back.

Seth halted, spun and gazed at Xander upon hearing what he said.

"Aurora is on a trip to Paris so what did you mean by her kissing up to Giavanna?" Seth demanded fiercely.

"If you are so curious then why don't you call her and ask where exactly she is at the moment hmm?" Xander hinted. He turned his back to Seth afterwards.

Eve stood up from where she sat the moment Seth left the office for the two of them.

"What did you mean by your earlier statement..."

"It's nothing to concern yourself about so relax," Xander replied. He held her hand and pulled her so that her body and his collided together.

"Now that we have gotten rid of the unwanted visitor, let's continue from where we stopped," Xander said in almost a whisper.

He wrapped his firm hands around her waist and started kissing her neckline, causing chaos in the system of the calm lady once again.

His moving hands that teased some of her sensitive regions sent electrifying feelings down Eve's spine.

As Eve and Xander had a good time in the office, Giavanna was seen at a five-star restaurant eating and laughing her sorrows away with her companion.

An hour later, a white sports car pulled over at the front of a magnificent milky-colour building.

As the occupants of the car stepped out of the car, two maids that came out of the building ran to one of the ladies.

"Hey, what is it, Stacy? Did something happen while I was away?" Giavanna asked the two maids that acted as if they were being pursued with a gun.

She looked towards the enormous entrance just to make sure that her guess was wrong.

"Madam Giavanna, are you alright? Do you feel weak as if you want to collapse? Should I call the doctor..."

"Calm down, Stacy," Giavanna cut in abruptly. She held Stacy's hands and gaze into the eyes of the lady whose pounding heart was as if it would jump out of her chest any moment.

"Breathe, ok," She instructed. As Stacy did as she ordered, Giavanna turned to the second maid.

"Why is she this way? Did anything awful happen when I was away?" Giavanna inquired seriously.

"Nothing of such took place, Madam," Celine replied politely.

"Then do you care to tell us why the usually composed Stacy is this way?" Aurora interfered. Even she was a little confused at what happened a few minutes ago.

"She has been looking for ways to contact you after you left. Because none in the house knew your cell phone number Stacy dialled Miss Aurora's line a few times but there was no response. Her anxiety worsened when a few hours passed and you still hadn't returned," Celine narrated with her head lowered.

Giavanna averted her attention to the lady whose shoulders she was still grabbing firmly. She felt the urge to laugh after learning why the always composed Stacy was in her current condition but she held back her laughter.

'I am completely fine... in fact, I have never felt this good all my life. She is so silly to have thought that my weak body would crumble. I mean, that weak body doesn't even exist anymore'.

Giavanna continued to stare at Stacy's face. She was lost at what to say or do to reassure her that she was perfectly alright.

"Gia is fine. She doesn't feel sick anywhere. I kept an eye on her throughout so you can relax now, Stacy," Aurora helped Giavanna out.

Giavanna waited for Stacy to calm down before she moved to stand beside Aurora.

"Come, I have something to show you," Giavanna announced. Without giving Aurora a heads up, Giavanna clutched her hand and dragged her towards the other side of the fountain water stationed close to the front of the building.

After taking up to twenty steps, Giavanna halted along with Aurora. She let go of her hand and moved to stand in front of the purple car.

"Rora, do you still remember how you couldn't stop talking about how much you love this car behind me?" Giavanna asked, her eyeballs locked with Aurora's.

"Of course I do. How could I ever forget such an iconic day," Aurora replied. Her eyes sparkled just at the sight of the purple car she fell in love with at first sight.

Not only was the beautiful super expensive and capable of bewitching every car lover but it happened to be one of it kind. And she got spellbound the day Madam Henry presented the car to Giavanna as a gift.

"Actually, I had made up my mind that day to give the car to you on your birthday..."

"What!" Aurora exclaimed in astonishment. She covered her agape mouth with her hands.

"Unfortunately, I wasn't around on your birthday and I couldn't keep my promise," Giavanna muttered as she balled her hands into fists.
