Chapter 43 - I Won't Shed A Tear

"Yes, you were right when you said it was their fault for trampling on her feelings but she is also guilty of giving people like them the power to hurt her," Roman chose this moment to be blunt with his words.

"Remember, you said you won't allow them to hurt you ever again so how come I see you hurt every day?" Roman asked. The tenderness of his voice was as if he wasn't the same guy that scolded Giavanna moments ago.

"As Zeus said, they are the guilty ones here, so why should you be the one hurting?... I mean they don't even deserve this, so why?" Roman muttered.

His words left Giavanna in deep thought.

'Ever since the day I was born, I have always been in pain due to my health condition. I was living happily until I found out that my six years of relationship was nothing but a sham. That day, I experienced a type of pain that was even worse than my sickness. Thinking back now I would have died of health complications that night if I didn't get bitten by a vampire...'

"Babe, are you ok?" Zeus touched her hand when she didn't say anything.

'Although this is not the kind of life I dreamt for myself, it's true that I was given a second chance. With this new body, I don't have to worry about falling sick. To be precise, I should be the predator with this amount of power I get so why should I let them keep hurting me?'

Giavanna clenched her fists tightly as she stared into space.

"Cry if you are in pain. I am sure you will feel a lot better afterwards..."

"I won't shed tears because of them ever again," Giavanna declared and jerked to her feet.

"In fact, why should I even cry when they are the guilty ones? Aren't the guilty ones supposed to do that?" Giavanna demanded.

Seeing her back to her old self made the two worried guys feel relieved.

"So what is the plan now? Are you still going to scrape out the first plan?" Roman asked.

"And why should I do that?" Giavanna grimaced as she guided her hands into her trouser's pockets.

"That is more like it," Zeus complimented. He gave her a thumbs-up to express his satisfaction.

"Instead of scrapping the plan, I am moving it forward," She announced to the guys' surprise.

"You are moving it forward?" Roman muttered. He and Zeus stared at each other in amazement.

"Shower and get changed both of you," She instructed while pointing at both of them.

"This is the perfect time for a being like me to hang out. At least, I don't have to worry about getting burned to ashes," Giavanna grinned.

'She has suffered so much in the hands of those she loves. Nothing can be more painful than being betrayed by those you gave your everything to. I am so happy to see her smiling again'.

Roman was in deep thought but he didn't forget to return her smile.

"Go on now hmm," Giavanna said. She held him, spun him around and pushed Roman towards the direction of the bathroom.

A few minutes later Giavanna, Roman and Zeus were ready and set to make the best out of the night.

Although Xander and Eve didn't arrive even after she finished dressing up, Giavanna couldn't care less about him.

She was able to easily leave the house after getting Stacy preoccupied with a task outside the house.

In front of a beautiful five-storey glass building, a red sports car pulled over at the parking space.

Almost immediately, a guy in a casual green shirt and black pants stepped out of the car and hurried to the other side of the car.

When he got to the passenger seat he reached out his hand and pulled the door open.

The lady draped in a red sexy sleeveless short gown that exposed her spotless long legs shifted her attention to the guy at the steering wheel.

"Are you guys sure you don't want to follow me in?" Giavanna asked for the fifth time since they set out.

"Yes," Roman asserted. He peered at her beautiful face through the rear mirror.

"Roman and I are afraid that you will be too blinded by our beauty to be able to talk business if we follow you in. And as someone who loves you very much, we don't want to be the reason why your plans are ruined," Zeus, whose right hand was still holding the door, muttered while rubbing his non-existent moustache.

"Y-y-you..." Giavanna stammered, her index finger pointed at the grinning guy.

"What he meant is that we know how important this is for you and we don't want things to go sour because of us..."

"And how could having you both with me make things go bad? Whoever feeds your brains with this nonsense?" Giavanna scolded the two guys whose company she had gotten accustomed to.

"Also, have you forgotten when I said you both were my lucky charms? Things always go perfectly well as long as I have you both with me," Giavanna added in a softer tone.
