Giavanna's blood boiled in rage when she recalled why she couldn't return home earlier than this.
If only she didn't go to his office that fateful night. Had she not caught her husband having sex with the very woman he called his cousin, she would have avoided a lot of misfortunes in her life.
Had all this not taken place, her dearest mother would have still been healthy. She wouldn't have had to live with the pain of not seeing her mother in her last moment.
'Giavanna, this is supposed to be a happy occasion. You can't let your emotions get the better part of you'.
Giavanna cautioned herself. She exhaled deeply and tried to stabilize her emotions.
"Although I didn't make it to your birthday, I will still keep my promise. So here you go," Giavanna mumbled and moved away from the car.
"The car is yours now," Giavanna announced and beckoned Aurora to move closer to the shiny purple car.
"W-w-what...." Aurora shouted, unable to believe what she heard. She reached out her trembling hands towards the car despite that she was still some distance away from it.
"Tell me you are lying," Aurora murmured. Her trembling lips vibrated as they moved up and down.
"Of course not. It's my birthday and reunion gift to you. You can try it out if you want," Giavanna cleared her doubts. She beamed at the lady who still hadn't approached the car.
Giavanna, Celine and Stacy didn't go into the building until Aurora tested her new car to her heart's content.
Giavanna and Aurora were in the sitting room chatting when a tall handsome guy entered.
"Sweetheart!" Aurora remarked the moment she saw the man. She let go of the floral cup she held and sat properly.
"Why is it so damn hot here?" He complained bitterly as he walked further into the room.
"The house has always been this way when Gia was around. As you know, her body can't handle the slightest coldness so why are you complaining as if this is your first time here," Aurora scolded him in a gentle tone.
"I don't know. Maybe it's because I am not used to the fact that my beautiful sister-in-law is back," He pointed out as he approached where the ladies stood.
"Hello, sister-in-law," he greeted and paused, walking just beside Giavanna's legs.
"Hi, Seth," Giavanna responded and smiled in between her teeth at the man whose mere presence she found annoying.
"I heard your home was the second place Aurora dropped by after she returned from her trip, I hope she didn't stress you out?" He asked and tried to sit beside her even though the space was too small to fit his butt.
"No. In fact, I enjoyed Rora's company very much. I believe she was the vitamin I needed to rejuvenate my weak body," Giavanna said and shifted to create space between her and Seth.
"I know you like my Aurora very much but aren't you afraid that you will hurt my little bro's feelings if he heard what you said," Seth expressed. He moved closer despite that it was crystal clear that his closeness made Giavanna uncomfortable.
"He won't and if it turns out I was wrong, I have a thousand and one ways to please my husband," Giavanna countered and shifted away from him one more time.
Aurora watched in silence as her shameless husband made a move on his sister-in-law right in front of her.
"Gia, I am sure you must be exhausted from all the shopping, we will take our leave now so you can go in and relax," Aurora informed and stood up from the opposite couch she occupied by herself.
"But I just got here," Seth growled, his fierce glares shot at his wife.
"You can stay behind if you want but I wonder if you will be able to handle the consequences if Gia was to collapse because she overexerted herself," Aurora threatened. She bent and picked up her handbag from the centre table.
Aurora wasn't surprised to see Seth reluctantly stand up from the couch.
"Let me see you both off," Giavanna said.
"There is no need for that," Aurora muttered before Giavanna could stand up.
"We aren't visitors, Gia. We know our way around here so don't worry," Aurora assured her with a smile.
"Don't forget to drop by when you are not busy," Giavanna waved at her. She watched as the husband and wife approached the exit.
'Aurora has been nothing but good to me. After my mum and Emmy, she is the closest person to me right now. I can't believe I almost made a grave mistake by targeting her husband'.
Giavanna rebuked herself as she leaned her back against the chair.
She stood up from the chair and approached the stairs after she confirmed that the couple had left.
The happy Giavanna was ascending the stairs when her sensitive ears picked up Aurora's voice outside.
"Office hours have been over a long time ago. Gia and I were expecting Xander's return instead of you so what happened?" Aurora demanded fiercely.
"My name is Seth and not Xander so why are you asking me that?" Seth snapped. He turned and tried to approach where he parked his car but Aurora held his hand and pulled him back.
"Hearing your response I guess he is having a great time with Eve while he left his sick wife lonely and worried sick right..."
"If you knew the answer then why did you bother questioning me in the first place?" Seth hissed and brushed Aurora's hands away from his body.
