Chapter 9 - Awakened Realities

As I continued playing with my toys, I saw my father walking towards me with a big smile on his face. He picked me up and held me close, and I could feel his love and warmth enveloping me.

"I finally found a Job" Evans spoke as held Hee-Joon.

I didn't fully understand what he meant, but I knew that he was happy and that made me happy too for which I started smiling.

Days turned into weeks, and I watched as my parents worked hard to make a new life for us in Seoul. My father would come home tired but with a satisfied look on his face, and my mother would always greet him with a smile and a warm meal.

I may not have fully understood the challenges they faced, but I could feel their love and determination to provide for our family.

As I continued to grow and develop, so did my understanding of the world around me. The small voice in my head that would announce my daily tasks and rewards became more familiar, and I began to understand that it was a part of me, my system.

It was my secret, and only I could hear it. As I giggled and cooed, I knew that my parents would do anything to protect me, and I felt safe and loved.

Life may have been difficult at times, but my parents' love and resilience carried us through. And as I looked up at them with innocent eyes, I knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, we would face them together.

As Hee-Joon grew up with the help of the system and the care of his parents, he surpassed many developmental milestones for his age.

At three years old, he was already showing signs of advanced cognitive and motor skills. He could understand basic concepts shown on the screen and would often giggle when the system gave him a notification.

One day, Hee-Joon tried to tell his parents that he could see something in front of his face, like a game. However, he was still young and unable to articulate his thoughts properly. His parents dismissed it as something he may have seen on TV while watching kids' shows.

As Hee-Joon continued to grow, the system's tasks for him began to change. No longer was it just about feeding and taking care of him, but rather it was focused on his education and physical development.

One day, the system prompted him to learn a language, and his parents were surprised to find him babbling in the English language tongue a few days later. They were amazed at how quickly he had picked it up.

As Hee-Joon grew more active, the system began to encourage him to play outside and engage in various physical activities. His parents took him to the park regularly, and Hee-Joon loved running around and climbing on the jungle gym. They were happy to see their child developing into a healthy and active boy.

As he completed tasks and achieved various milestones, the system would reward him with completion notifications and sometimes surprise rewards.

These rewards could range from additional points to small gifts or treats, Now at level three, Hee-Joon's stats were slowly changing based on his level. His parents were amazed at how much he had grown and developed since his birth.

As He-Joon grew up, he began to understand the tasks assigned by the system a little better. He also noticed that his levels were not increasing as quickly as they had when he was a baby. Instead, only a small amount of points were added to his stats after completing the daily tasks.

This made him wonder if there was a way to earn more points or if the system was designed to slow down his progress as he grew older. He decided to keep completing the tasks every day in hopes of finding out more about the system and its workings.

As Hee-Joon grew, he had now reached the age of ten. The world around him had also changed with the emergence of dungeons and awakened individuals.

The education system had adapted to the new reality, and schools were now teaching children about the events that had led to the calamity, starting from the appearance of an extra moon to the global destruction that followed.

The market had also undergone significant changes to accommodate the needs of the awakened. With the emergence of dungeons, people now had access to resources that were not previously available.

Guilds had formed to explore these dungeons, and businesses had adapted to cater to the needs of the awakened population. The world was no longer the same as it was before the awakening.

For the awakened users, a new training facility was specially organized where they were groomed and trained before going to the dungeons for a raid.

Hee-Joon, who had turned ten years old, expressed his desire to give the test for the awakened school to his mother. He casually mentioned that while playing outside, he felt something like getting an awakening and power.

His mother was surprised to hear this and asked him to explain more. Hee-Joon hid the fact that he could see the system in front of him, as he learned from school that the powers usually vary from user to user. As of now, no one had this power of getting stronger as if leveling up like a game.

His mother was initially hesitant to believe him, but she could see the determination in Hee-Joon's eyes. She decided to take him to the testing center, where he would take the test to see if he had any powers.

After discussing with Evans, Ji-Woo agreed to let Hee-Joon take the test. The next day, Ji-Woo took Hee-Joon to one of the government facilities that were set up to test awakened users and assess their power levels.
