As Hee-Joon and his mother arrived at the facility, they were greeted by a bustling scene. Many small help desks were set up around the perimeter, each representing a different guild.
"Over here" shouted one of the member seating at the helpdesk.
"We are actively looking for D-rank and above raiders" Guy continued.
Ignoring him and others at the helpdesk, Ji-Woo moved to a testing facility.
He could see that each guild was actively scouting new awakened users, hoping to find someone with a unique and powerful ability that could be used to their advantage.
If an awakened user was selected by a guild, they would not have to attend the school as all the training would be provided by the guild itself. This was a great opportunity for some, but it also meant that they would be bound to the guild's interests and may not have as much freedom to pursue their own goals.
Despite this, many people had come to the facility for testing their abilities. The guild and hunting businesses were booming, and they were willing to pay a fortune for hunters who could help them in their quests.
As they entered the testing area, Hee-Joon could feel a sense of excitement and nervousness building up inside him. This was his chance to prove himself and show that he was worthy of joining the awakened school.
He knew that the powers usually varied from user to user, but he couldn't help wondering what his own power would be like.
As they entered the facility, they were greeted by a receptionist
"Welcome", Please register yourself here," Receptionist asked Ji-Woo and Hee-Joon.
"Please come this way" As receptionist directed them to the testing room.
The testing area was a large room filled with different types of equipment, and Hee-Joon was amazed at the sight of it all.
As Hee-Joon entered the testing room, he was greeted by an official named Mr. Song, who welcomed him with a smile. Mr. Song began to explain the testing process, ensuring Hee-Joon understood how the ranks were determined based on the user's Mana Level, measured by the amount of mana infused into the mana stone during the test.
"Hello, Hee-Joon. Today, we will evaluate your abilities to determine your rank," Mr. Song said.
"After the great calamity, when awakened users emerged, dungeons started appearing, necessitating raids to protect civilians from potential attacks by monsters." Mr. Song continued.
"How do you assess the ranks based on our mana level?" Curious Hee-Joon asked the question.
"Through years of testing and research, we have developed a comprehensive system to rank users based on their mana input." Mr. Song replied.
"The ranks range from F rank to A rank, with S rank being a special designation." Mr. Song continued.
"There are no mana stones available as of now that can accurately detect and assess the mana output held by S-rank awakeners." Official stated.
Hee-Joon listened intently to the official's explanation and felt a mixture of excitement and nervousness. He was eager to see where he would rank and what abilities he might possess, He took a deep breath and prepared himself for the test, determined to do his best and see what his mana level would be.
As Mr. Song continued to explain the ranking system, he emphasized that the primary factor for determining one's rank was the amount of mana they possessed.
"So, Hee-Joon, the more mana you can harness, the higher your rank will be," Mr. Song clarified.
Hee-Joon nodded, absorbing the information. "What about individuals who have an exceptionally large amount of mana?"
Mr. Song smiled knowingly "Ah, those are the rare cases, Some individuals awaken an extraordinary amount of mana, making them special cases. In such instances, we assign them the S rank since there is no definitive benchmark for their powers. These individuals are often regarded as prodigies and attract significant attention in the awakened world."
As the official continued, he elaborated on the significance of mana levels and their correlation with ranks.
"For normal civilians, their mana level would be zero, indicating they are ordinary humans" Mr. Song Explained.
"However, once a person possesses mana ranging from 1 to 100, they would be considered an F-rank, the lowest rank on the scale. As the mana increases beyond 100, the rank would be determined accordingly." the official continued.
"What about the highest ranks?" Hee-Joon asked.
"Well, the A-rank users exhibit impressive mana readings of around 7000 to 9999, making them highly skilled. But the coveted S-rank is a rarity, with current scientific developments, we do not have any capability to measure their mana." Replied Mr. Song.
"Thank you for clearing my doubt Sir" Hee-Joon stated.
"No Problem, Here take the token and go sit there, You will be called as per your token number" Mr. Song replied.
"Ok"
As Hee-Joon took the token from the official and left for the waiting room.
Hee-Joon looked around the waiting room, which was filled with other people who had come to take the test for their awakened abilities. Some of them looked nervous since the outcome will determine their future.
As he saw, few closed their eyes and prayed for a good rank.
Hee-Joon found a seat and sat down to wait for his token number to appear on the screen. He also wondered what kind of powers he might get if he ranked high enough. The possibilities seemed endless, and he couldn't wait to find out.
"Beep" he saw token 06 flashes on the tv screen, and after some time, he saw one of the guys who was praying previously walking towards the testing facility.
"Yahoo" he saw the same guy coming running outside of the facility after five minutes.
"What happened, which rank you have got?" asked one of the people, who was waiting for his turn.
"I have got D-Rank, Finally I will be able to make enough money" the person joyfully bounced.
Later due to the large commotion and ruckus he had created, he was escorted out by the guards.
As Hee-Joon saw that guy getting escorted out, he saw that numerous small guilds were already after him in the hope of getting him in their guilds.
"Beep" another beep sound came on the TV and it was for token number 07.
Finally, his token number appeared on the screen, and Hee-Joon made his way to the testing room.
As he entered, he saw several officials and testers seated behind desks with various pieces of equipment in front of them. They all looked up as he entered, and he could feel their eyes on him as he walked over to the designated area.
He took a deep breath and focused his mind, preparing for whatever was to come. He knew that this test would determine his future in this world, and he was determined to do his best.
