As Mr. Kim's words unfolded, the students began to grasp the magnitude of the task before them. Mining in the dungeons was not a mere replication of traditional methods; it was a wholly unique and perilous undertaking.
The absence of machinery meant they would rely solely on their own strength, resilience, and skill with the specially crafted pickaxes.
One student raised their hand, unable to contain their curiosity any longer. They asked the question that had been on their mind:
"If mining in the dungeons can be done, why not let ordinary people undertake the task? Why go through the trouble of hiring awakened users?"
The room fell silent as everyone turned their attention to Mr. Kim, waiting for his response. He smiled warmly, acknowledging the student's question.
"Ah, an excellent query," the instructor remarked, his eyes twinkling with knowledge.
"You see, ordinary people lack the necessary resistance to the dungeon's harsh conditions, Additionally, the awakened users possess innate abilities that can be crucial in ensuring their safety and success." Mr. Kim answered the question.
And add further "The mana-infused tools we use are designed to withstand the energies and obstacles within the dungeon and these tools cannot be handled by normal people"
Leaning against the desk at the front of the class, Mr. Kim began to share a tale, one that would provide the students with a deeper understanding of the necessity of awakened individuals for dungeon mining.
He began his narrative by taking them back to the time of the first expedition into the dungeons, a time filled with both excitement and trepidation.
"You know when the first dungeon appeared, a venture was made to study it" Instructor continued his tale.
The early explorers, comprised mostly of common people, ventured into the depths of the dungeons with hope in their hearts and dreams of uncovering unimaginable treasures.
Mr. Kim's voice took on a solemn tone as he recounted the unfortunate events of early expeditions. "The dungeons," he explained, "were not like ordinary mines. They were a realm of their own, with a hostile environment and numerous dangers."
."The dungeon environment is infused with toxic elements, capable of causing harm to those without proper protection. The air is thick with noxious fumes, and the terrain is treacherous and unpredictable." The students listened intently, realizing the severity of the situation.
"You know during the first expedition numerous people died in the dungeon and those who survived are still struggling because of mana poisoning" painting how dark the first expedition was.
As Hee-Joon heard this, he saw many go silent by this disturbing fact, and for the first time, he saw Hyun-Soo completely disturbed by the ongoing tale which was indifferent to his regular behavior.
"What happened?" Hee-Joon asked Hyun-Soo.
"Nothing" Hyun-Soo replied as if he was hiding something.
"It became clear," Mr. Kim concluded, "through harrowing experiences, that the dungeons were no place for the unawakened."
"As we venture deeper into the dungeon," Mr. Kim explained, "your mana will be your greatest asset. It will not only protect you from the toxic environment but also enhance your strength and endurance."
A student raised their hand, curious about the origin of mana. "Where does Mana come from? ".
Mr. Kim smiled, recognizing the student's curiosity, "As of now we have no definitive proof of where does it come from, But it is only clear that it started after the apocalypse in 2012"
"Now let's talk about an aspect of monsters and dungeons" Mr. Kim instructed.
"Once the raid team has successfully eliminated the threats and cleared the path, it's the turn of the excavation team to step in," Instructor Kim explained,
"Their task is to carefully carry the bodies of the defeated monsters, preserving them for further analysis and extracting valuable resources." the instructor added further.
In the dungeon, every monster encounter is an opportunity for valuable resources," Mr. Kim explained, "But remember, it's not just about slaying monsters. It's about extracting their resources efficiently and effectively."
A student raised their hand, seeking clarification. "How do we ensure that we extract the resources without damaging them or ourselves?" they asked.
Mr. Kim then spoke "Great question! It's all about understanding the anatomy of the monsters and utilizing the right techniques.",
"We will cover various extraction methods, from dissecting monsters to carefully removing their mana stones. You'll learn how to handle these valuable resources while minimizing any potential risks." added further to the point.
"In the time following the extraction process," Instructor Kim continued, "the team will be escorted to a safe area within the dungeon. Here, they will have a short period to catch their breath and replenish their energy, for their next task lies ahead."
Mr. Kim spoke "Once raiders have hunted the monsters, before going for the boss monster, the excavation team will take the dead monsters' bodies outside"
Then continued, "Once they have finished collecting the bodies, it will be time of mining team, they will clear all the mining outside the boss room"
He explained that after the brief respite, it was time for the mining team to embark on the final challenge—the hunt for the boss monster.
Once the boss monster is hunted down, "It is during this critical time," Instructor Kim said, his eyes shining with fervor, "that the true essence of the mining team's role is revealed.
"As the boss monster falls, its mana, still coursing through its body, holds the dungeon intact for a short while. This period can range from one hour to six hours, depending on the dungeon's unique properties."
"In these precious hours," Instructor Kim emphasized, "it is the responsibility of the mining team to extract every last resource, mine every valuable material, and clear the dungeon of its treasures. Time is of the essence, for once the boss monster's mana dissipates completely, the dungeon's stability crumbles and it returns to a state of ruins." Mr. Kim continued.
As Instructor Kim concluded his explanation, he then continued
"Now that we have painted a vivid picture of the dungeon scene," Instructor Kim declared, a spark of excitement in his eyes, "let's delve into the fascinating world of mana crystals and their mining techniques."
He gripped the specialized pickaxe firmly, its weight noticeable in his hands. With a confident smile, he held it up for all the students to see.
"Observe," he said, his voice commanding attention.
"This pickaxe is no ordinary tool. Its iron head is crafted from a rare and durable mana crystal, carefully infused with mystical properties. It is the key to extracting the precious crystals without causing any damage." Mr. Kim started demonstrating the pickaxe.
As the students gathered around, their eyes fixed on the unique pickaxe, Instructor Kim demonstrated the proper technique. With a fluid motion, he swung the pickaxe, striking the designated spot on the dungeon wall where the crystals were known to be embedded. The impact reverberated through the room, and a resounding crack echoed as a section of the wall crumbled, revealing a cluster of shimmering crystals.
"Now, observe closely," Instructor Kim continued, his voice filled with enthusiasm.
He carefully detached one of the crystals from the wall, handling it with utmost care. Its brilliance captivated the students as it emitted a soft glow, pulsating with otherworldly energy.
"Each crystal possesses its own unique characteristics and power. From the low-level stones that enhance elemental magic to the high-level crystals that bestow incredible abilities, these treasures hold immense value," he added
"These crystals are not only valuable for their raw power but also for their applications in crafting enchantments, potions, and various magical artifacts," Instructor Kim explained.
"By mining them without causing any damage, we ensure their integrity and preserve their inherent qualities."
"These are just a few examples of the vast array of mana crystals that can be found in dungeons," Instructor Kim revealed.
"From the common varieties to the exceedingly rare ones, each holds its own secrets and potential. As miners, it will be your duty to identify and collect these valuable resources."
"In our future lessons," Instructor Kim continued, a hint of anticipation in his voice, "we will explore the intricate process of identifying, evaluating, and utilizing mana crystals to their fullest potential."
"In the realm of mining, knowledge, and skill go hand in hand," Instructor Kim concluded. As Mr. Kim concluded his lecture, he smiled warmly at the students. "That's all for today, everyone. You may now leave and rest up for tomorrow's training."
