Hey there, it's me, Gareki. So, remember that dream I had a while back? The one with the mysterious voice calling me "Kai" and talking about being chosen? Well, let me tell you, things have been getting even more interesting since then.
Fast forward a few years, and here I am, about to celebrate my sixth birthday tomorrow! Can you believe it? Time sure does fly. Yuna and Kotetsu, my awesome parents, have been working hard to make this day extra special for me. Balloons, streamers, and a table filled with all sorts of yummy treats – they've gone all out.
No incidents took place after a while, we could say we've been in an era of peace? At least since the last incident with the hospital…
When the day finally arrived, I woke up with a jolt of excitement running through my veins. The sun was shining bright, and I could feel the anticipation building up inside me. I practically jumped out of bed, ready to embrace the day's festivities. I know it's not as if it were the first time I was at this age however it did feel the same way as the first time, in terms of excitement at least…
Down in the kitchen, Yuna and Kotetsu were busy putting the final touches on my birthday cake. It was a sight to behold. I couldn't help but grin from ear to ear.
Yuna pulled me into a tight hug, her love enveloping me like a warm blanket. "Happy birthday, Gareki! Can you believe you're already six? Time flies, doesn't it?"
Kotetsu joined in, messing up my hair with a playful grin. "You're growing up so fast, champ. We're proud of the young boy you've become."
I soaked up their affection, feeling grateful for the love and support they showered me with all these years.
Yuna: So me and your father decided that….
Kotetsu: We will hire a magic teacher for you!
I gasped in excitement when I heard but after thinking it through I said: "Isn't that super expensive? How can we afford that?"
Kotetsu: "hehehe…. I've managed to pull some strings for that myself you see…" he said with a proud smile on his face
"But even so… didn't I agree to become a merchant?" I said without being able to hide my excitement, "I've even created that new game called chess that even yourselves said it will
be a best selling product for a long time!
"Yes… you did" Yuna answered back
"But we thought deeper on how exited you were about magic and how you would never stop asking us questions about it. As if breathing is something out of this world" Continued Kotetsu.
If only they knew though…
"So when is this teacher supposed to appear?" I asked.
Suddenly the front door bursted open
Mysterious voice:
"BWAHAHAHA… I AM HERE YOUR NEW TEACHER. GET TEADY BECAUSE THIS WILL BE THE MOST EXITING, FUN, LIFE CHANGING, CRAZY, ABNORMAL, TEACHING LESSONS YOU. WILL. EVER. HAVE. IN YOUR ENTIRE LIFE!"
I slammed the door shut. I could still hear her talking even with the door shut. She didn't stop talking to the door. She didn't realise the door was shut. She introduced herself to the door.
I realised my parents gambled their money on some poster they might have found inside a garbage can.
I asked my parents: "Is it too late to go back to merchant please?"
Their expressions were white. As if their soul left their body. I don't know if it was my actions or that girls actions the one that made them look this way. Either way they were the least delightful about what had just happened.
Kotetsu: "sweetheart?"
Yuna: "Yes honey?"
Kotetsu: "He won't even give her a chance"
Yuna: "I guess he really is your son huh…"
They both said with a defeated life purpose tone.
