Chapter 43

Diana ran through the darkness until she unexpectedly collided with Lucas. A smile crossed her face as she spoke his name, but then she fell unconscious. Lucas looked around, searching for anyone who might have been chasing her, but there was no one in sight. Concerned, he gently picked up Diana and Carried her in his arms.

As Diana lay unconscious, she found herself in a dream. In this dream, she tightly embraced her two daughters, tears streaming down her face. Meanwhile, Lucas, worried about Diana's sweating, held her hands, trying to comfort her. Lisa, noticing Diana's distress, quickly fetched a bowl of water. In this dream, Diana desperately tried to reach her daughters, but couldn't. Suddenly, she woke up in a startled state, tears still streaming down her face. To her surprise, Lucas was there, immediately embracing her.

However, Tanya, not pleased with this display of affection, had previously asked Lucas to look after Lisa, her daughter.

Sensing tension, Lisa brought some medicine and noticed her mother had left the room. She handed the medicine to Lucas, who thanked her. Lisa couldn't help but wonder what was happening and why Lisa seemed so worried.

Lucas POV

As Lucas returned, he discovered Diana peacefully asleep, tears streaming down his face. Gently, he clasped her hand and sat beside her, noticing the bandage on her head. "You must have endured so much, Diana. I'm truly sorry," he whispered Diana slowly opened her eyes, meeting Lucas gaze. With care, he helped by placing a pillow behind her back, allowing her to sit up.

Lucas made a decision in that moment; he knew he needed to change, and swiftly removed his shirt. Diana eyes widened as she noticed the marks on his back. Slowly, she approached him, her hand tracing the scars. "How...did you get this marks?" She asked, her voice filled with concern. Lucas turned to face her, his eyes brimming with tears. "While I was trying to save you, I was attacked," he confessed.

Tears well up in Diana's eyes as she listened to his words.

Unable to contain her emotions any longer, Diana spoke from the depth of her heart. "Lucas, I love you so deeply...It pains me to see you suffer, to witness the risks you've taken to protect me. Why?"

Lucas tendely held her waist, drawing her closer to him. Her hands found solace on his shoulders, their eyes locked in an intense gaze. In that moment, he leaned in and kissed her, a fervent expression his love. Their lips parted, and he spoke softly, it's because I love you, Diana. You are the one I've always loved, and I would do anything to keep you safe." Diana's tears flowed freely as she kissed him in return, their connection undeniable. With her hands on his shoulders, their kiss deepened, their love is a strong indication of its strength.

Lisa POV

But her mother, Tanya, had noticed Lisa's distress and followed her. She entered Lisa's room, concern etched her face. "Didn't I warn you?" Tanya began, her voice filled with a mix of frustration and sadness. "I told you that Lucas doesn't truly love you. He has a wife and two kids. Look, Lisa, I've give you to Lucas, but it's up to you to..."

Lisa couldn't let her mother finish. She interrupted, her voice filled with a mixture defiance and vulnerability. "Look mom, I know you card about me, but I you suggesting that I should push Diana out of Lucas's life and take her place? Diana doesn't know the secret yet, and when she finds out, she'll be utterly heartbroken."

Tanya smiled, a mix of knowing glimmer in her eyes. "You belong to Lucas, and Lucas belongs to you," she said, her voice filled with conviction. "I know you love him deeply."

Lisa took a deep breath, "mom I need sometime to think," she said her voice mix with uncertainty. "I am going to the kitchen. Excuse me." Lisa left the room. Her mother Decided to figure out a plan to drive Diana away.
