Chapter 49

Lisa saw that Lucas was back, and she felt suspicious of his return. She knew he had gone to see Diana, knowing that Diana has betrayed him. She approached him with Questions.

Lucas: I'm will be done in a minute serve dinner

Lisa rolled her eyes

Lisa: where have you been, you went to see Diana right???

Have you forgotten that she is the reason behind Your two daughters who hasn't woken up for months now?

Lucas kept climbing the stairs Ignoring what she was saying.

Lisa: I just know that I won't allow Diana back into our lives.

Here's the rewritten scene:

Diana's eyelids fluttered open, revealing a sterile hospital room. The scent of disinfectant wafted through her nostrils, transporting her back to the stark reality. Two months of darkness, and now, the faint hum of machines and muffled conversations assaulted her ears.

As she struggled to sit up, her body protested. Muscles screamed in protest, her head spinning. The room tilted, and Diana's stomach lurched. She gripped the bed rails, knuckles white.

"Where...my daughters?" The words barely escaped her parched lips.

A faint memory teased her mind – Lucas's face, twisted in betrayal. The crash. The pain.

Diana's gaze darted around the room, searching for answers. IV drips and monitors beeped, casting an eerie glow. Sunlight filtered through the blinds, casting stripes on the floor.

Suddenly, rough hands grasped her wrists. Fingers dug into her skin, and a palm clamped over her mouth.

"Don't make a sound," a gruff voice whispered.

Panic set in. Diana's heart raced, pounding in her ears. She tried to kick, but her legs felt like lead.

A nurse's distant laughter, a doctor's murmured instructions – the sounds blurred together.

One of her captors yanked her off the bed. Diana's vision blurred. A sharp crack echoed through her skull, followed by darkness.

...

In the hallway, a nurse quickened her pace, sensing something amiss. "Diana's room is just..." she muttered to herself.

As she pushed open the door, an empty bed greeted her.

"Diana?" the nurse called out, her voice laced with concern.

Only silence replied.

---

Nurse Thompson's eyes scanned the empty room, her mind racing. She hastened to the nurses' station, her sneakers squeaking on the linoleum.

"Diana's missing!" she exclaimed, snatching the phone.

The duty nurse's expression turned grave. "Check the bathroom, maybe she's—"

"No, I checked," Nurse Thompson interrupted. "Her IV pole's still here, and her clothes... everything's still intact."

The hospital's intercom crackled to life. "Code Pink. Code Pink. Missing patient, Diana."

Doctors and nurses sprang into action, rushing to search the wards.

Meanwhile, Diana's world remained shrouded in darkness. She floated, weightless, her head throbbing. A faint rustling sound... footsteps?

As consciousness seeped back, Diana realized she lay on a cold, damp floor. A musty smell clung to her nostrils.

"Where...?" she whispered, struggling to sit up.

A harsh voice replied, "Shut up."

Diana's gaze adjusted slowly. Crumbling concrete, rusty pipes, and a single flickering bulb illuminated the dingy space.

"Lisa..." Diana's voice trembled. "Why?"

The response was a harsh laugh.

"Lucas..." Diana whispered, memories flooding back.

A hand grasped her hair, yanking her head back.

" Forget Lucas. Forget everything."

Diana's scream was muffled by a rough hand.
