Chapter 31

Lily and Victor stood in the midst of a heated argument, their emotions running high. Accusations filled the air as they pointed fingers at Maria, blaming her for the troubles that had befallen them. Tears streamed down Lily's face as she sobbed, her heart aching for their daughter who had been taken away. Determination flashed in Victor's eyes as he declared that he will take action to rectify the situation.

I'm the midst of the turmoil, Maria, overwhelmed by her own emotions, retreated to her room. Frustration and anger consumed her, leading her to impulsively grab hold of a near by mirror. With a sudden crash, the fragile glass shattered, mirroring the brokenness she felt inside.

Without wasting a moment, Maria reached for her phone and dialed Ethan's number.

She needed his support, his guidance, and his understanding in the tumultuous time.

As the call connected, her voice tumbled with a mix of desperation and hope, seeking solace in the words that awaited her on the other end.

As the cotton fell, covering the windows, Lucas and Diana found themselves locked in a moment so powerful, it took their breath away. In that instant, Lucas leaned in and planted a kiss on Diana's lips, a surprise that sent a rush of emotions through both of them. Time seemed to stand still as they held each other tightly, their heart beating as one.

Breaking away from the kiss, they stood up, their eyes locked in a knowing gaze. Diana, overwhelmed with emotion, couldn't bear the pretense any longer. Tears streaming down her face, she embraces Lucas, seeking solace in his arms. She confess her struggle with pretending to fight in front of Maria, unable to continue the charade.

Lucas, understanding her pain, reassured her that their plan would work. With a gentle touch, he wiped away her tears, promising to be there for her every step of the way.

Lucas gently interwined his fingers with Diana's, a silent reassurance of their shared journey. With a warm smile, she couldn't help but ask, "where are we going, Lucas?"

His eyes twinkled with anticipation as he replied, " I am taking you to see our daughter. She's been waiting for this moment, to have her mom by her side after so many years."

A burst of laughter escape Diana's lips, echoing through the air. "Only six years," she chuckled, her joy contagious. The sound of their laughter filled the space between them, a reminder of the lightness they could still find admist the challenges, they faced.

Lucas cherished this moment, grateful to see the smile return to Diana's face.
