*Zach's POV*
"You should feel lucky that the child is in the room. I'd have rooted a bullet in your head the moment you said those words" The old man says and I hear Zoey gasp beside me.
"You have a gun grandpa?" She says walking towards him slowly, as much as I hate to let Lizzie go, I hand her over to the butler and let him take her away. Mojo doesn't seem to want to hurt her and this conversation is slowly getting intense. My heart settles as I hear her soft giggles as she plans with the butler who tried to keep her distracted as he led her away from me.
"He has a lot more than guns" I added and the old man glared at me, the revolver he'd been pointing towards me from underneath the desk made a 'click' sound as he inserted a bullet, daring me to speak again. I move away from my position opposite him and walk to the place Zoey had just left.
"What is going on Grandpa?" She asks in a soft voice standing beside him. The old man tucks the gun into one of the drawers in his desk, making sure Zoey didn't see the weapon.
"I don't know what exactly you're asking but I'd also like you to explain to me why you married this fool"
"Because I wanted to. If you're here then that means Dad didn't send you an invite....to my wedding" Zoey says, whispering the last part as her eyes dimmed.
"That damned brat, I always warned him not to involve you in our battles. He just doesn't listen. And why would he want to marry you to this fool? How do you know each other? Is the company in trouble again?" The old man asked Zoey and she just sighed, plopping onto the couch close to his desk.
"He was going to get me married to Taylor Wright. I went to Zach for help because 'mother' would have gone through with the wedding anyways, even if Dad disagreed. And yes, the company is in trouble, you already knew that" She says while making a face. Her nose scrunching up whenever she says the name Taylor. She looks so cute whenever she does that and she doesn't even realize it.
Wait....cute?
What in tarnation is going on with me?!
