Chereads / Zach's Flame / Chapter 48 - Forty Eight

Chapter 48 - Forty Eight

This feud of ours continues for another five days. We have something like a timetable that we follow every morning. I figured since I already married him, I'd better just try to get along with the little baby. And she's also too cute to resist.

I'll wake up in the morning and bathe little Izzie, I'd dress her up and style her hair, take a few photos admist her giggles and laughter, she has such a free spirit, and after our mini-photoshoot, we'd head downstairs to the kitchen where I'll put her in her baby chair before preparing breakfast while Izzie ate her oatmeal. Izzie was a nickname I came up with the next day after I met her and she loves it. Immediately after breakfast is served, Zach will walk into the kitchen, eat his breakfast and head to work, leaving Izzie and I all alone in the huge house. I tried cleaning the house once but there isn't actually anything to clean, the place is literally spotless and I still haven't seen any maids yet, I'd ask Zach but we're still not on speaking terms, not that he hasn't tried but I always shut him down.

But I plan to end this today.

Not talking to each other won't help either of us and it certainly won't help Izzie. Plus, I'm tired of sitting home all day. Apparently, Izzie has a babysitter who brought her up from infancy, making me wonder where her mom is. I'll be resuming back to work soon and Izzie will need someone to stay with her.

I place her in her car seat and buckle the straps, making her giggle. The weather was exceptionally cold today so I put on a few layers of thick clothing on for her, I'd packed her bag with her formula, a water bottle with warm water, her pacifier, a change of clothes, diapers and napkins, in case of 'emergencies'.

I wore a blue maxi dress with a deep V neckline, and blue colored heels, I'd put my hair up in a ponytail and added a bit of lip balm on my lips, I won't be wearing makeup again for a while, my mother has traumatized me. As I drive out of the compound, two more cars follow behind us and I sigh, knowing Zach put extra security on me. I hate being monitored, but we don't actually have a choice.
