Chapter 5 - One Down, Who Knows How Many Are Left

I charge the creature moving at insane speeds due to my lightning technique. I recalled learning that most creatures' weakest point is their neck but that's not always true with upper-level creatures'.

This Means that whenever I tried to rush the monster's neck, my blade hit harmlessly off of it causing me to recoil and get struck by the creature.

I'm sent flying, landing, and bouncing off of the sand below before getting my footing back and standing. Suddenly a sharp pain shoots through my right ribs. I try and touch them and realize they're most likely broken.

My entire body is shaking and my mind has gone blank trying to figure out why my blade didn't slice through his neck. Finally, I remembered why I was on this journey and managed to calm myself down by taking deep breaths to calm the shaking. I finally decided to focus on remembering what my mother had taught me about this creature.

Name: Jai-Kuza

Weak point: Singular Green Scale

Strengths: Massive Reach and devastating strikes

Weakness: Anyone willing to get as close to them as possible

"Ok," I say to no one but my thoughts "I need to find the green scale"

My eyes scan the monster as quickly as possible before finding the scale on its shoulder.

"Well step one done... finding the scale, now I need to figure out how to get up there without getting hit again.

By this time Kuza had realized I hadn't died from his strike and was lumbering towards me

"Well now or never I guess, I get one shot before this thing makes my ribs shoot out my mouth at Mach 12" I say trying to find some humor in a dark moment.

Kuza had finally closed a large enough gap to where he could almost strike me

"Well here goes nothing" I remark as I lower myself to the ground "Thunderclap: Sonic Boom"

I rush the being as fast as my body would let me. I was already on the creature's waist before he noticed I had moved. As he tried to swing at me I always managed to be on step faster than his strikes. I finally made it to his shoulder where I lept off the side before making a final strike against the green scale finishing the monster once and for all.
