Chapter 9 - Returning to combat

As soon as I was returned to the surface I noticed a chunk of time had past, the sun was starting to fall but when I left the moon was already high in the sky. I realized Zane and the others had probably already left so I would need to catch up to them. Unsure of what the new sword did, I stored it in the HSS and used my original sword to speed around the desert searching for my fellow travelers.

During my travels I saw multiple slain monsters but not by typical sword, they all had what seemed like gunshot wounds. I decided to brush of the thought as soon as I found my companions. When I walked up to them I could see the shock and fear in Kyle and JaJa's eyes but decided to focus on Zane who seemed happy I was alive. I wasn't sure whether or not him and the others were all wanting me dead but Zane was the one person I could trust more than the others.

As we continued on our journey I got in multiple other fights and continued growing more accustomed to my new sword. From what I had gathered I still had the same powers they were just faster and stronger. With the old blade I moved fast but I was still visible to the naked eye, but with the new sword I was moving fast enough I was almost breaking the sound barrier.

Eventually I got into a tough fight where I almost lost. It was against a creature called Calizala. This specific being had a power that caused it to send out minions to fight for it. Eventually I got pounced by one and was struggling to get it off me when a bullet hole appeared in it. I instinctively created distance between me and whoever shot the bullet but then realized it was Zane. Without saying a word we nodded at eachother as I took off up the giants body occasionally hearing gunshots from Zane as he kept the minions away from me. Once I got to his neck I delivered my strongest strike yet. "Lighting Style: Switch Grip Thunder". This move required me to switch from a traditional wield to a reverse grip and slash at the being, summoning a lightning bolt to evaporate it.

Once the creature was dead I went over to Zane and began questioning him. It turned out he was a son of the goddess Artesmia, goddess of archery or Long distance warfare, the gun he was firing was a gift from his mother that he received on his 16th birthday. He said he assumed I was a demi-gold also when I managed to return from my first fight against Jai-Kuza
