After traveling one day I decided I'd go out in search of something to hunt when JaJa and Kyle decided they wanted to help and come with me. I tried to tell them I didn't need they're help but they wouldn't listen. I eventually agreed to letting them help me. That was the first mistake. At that moment Zane offered to go also so we could find a new spot to stay but I convinced him to stay because I had a feeling the others were going to try something.
Zane eventually agreed to stay behind and began unpacking our few belongings and making the cave feel as much like a home as possible. Meanwhile JaJa, Kyle, and me all left to search for more food. About a mile into the walk the others fell behind and began whispering to each other. I decided to not try and listen assuming they were just complaining about having to walk this long with no rest but before I realized what was happening JaJa came up to me and pushed me into the chasm to our right. As I was falling I saw the two traitors faces and as I began to decents faster and faster into the chasm, thoughts began to cloud my mind. What would happen to my brother, would my mom ever see him again, would anyone find me down here. All these thoughts blocked my judjement until finally one specific memory emerged, in my physics class we had learned that it was theoretically possible to break a large fall with a sword if you had a strong enough strike and hit the ground with the perfect spot of the blade.
In that split second of remembering I had already began brainstorming how much power I would need and where I needed to strike the ground. It was my only chance of survival, I had to give it a shot. When I was about 12 feet from the ground I unsheithed my sword and spun as fast as possible passing all my energy into a point about half an inch from the tip and concentrated on making solid contact with the ground. When the time had come, I swung and manage to hit the point almost perfectly, I broke the fall but it sent a massive shock through my arms rendering then unable to hold anything for a period of time.
By the time I stood up I noticed the etchings on the side of the cavern. They looked familiar and I eventually realized this was the temple I had seen in my dream about a month ago.
