Madeleine was drowned in much fear, her heart started beating faster than usual. Without wasting a second, she started pressing Muriel's heart, giving her cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
This first-aid technique is used mostly for humans and since she's still unsure of what Muriel is and partially believes that she's a human… she thought of using it, maybe it will work.
She wonders what happened, it's not like Muriel drowned in the water and this water is too small for her to drown. Also, her head was above the water and resting on the edge of the bathtub when she walked in and saw her.
This is no joke. Madeleine's fear was visible in her emerald green eyes as her heart pounds inside her chest. She gave the first-aid technique to Muriel but nothing happened, the girl still lied still like a dead person or maybe she's dead.
She was already sweating profusely because of the panic in her. She didn't think twice when she decided to use her reviving spell.
That's a very powerful spell that could drain her strength for a complete two days or more if she ever uses it but at this moment, she has no choice but to take that risk.
She knew supreme alpha Alexander will go feral once anything happens to his mate. He just found her yesterday… only heavens know what he will do if he loses her.
He left Muriel in her care, he will definitely not spare her once anything happens to Muriel. How will she make him understand that she saw Muriel lifeless when she walked into the bathroom... She has no idea of what happened to her.
But she's definitely wondering what happened to Muriel. Why did her heart suddenly stop beating? Could it mean that Muriel is really dead? But how?
She was fine some hours ago. Madeleine also believed that she was fine when Alexander left her in the bathroom. So what suddenly happened?
There were lots of questions in Madeleine's head coupled with fear and panic. Her heart won't stop beating loudly as it dawns on her that Muriel is definitely dead.
A heart that has stopped beating is surely a dead heart.
She thought of taking Muriel to the hospital but that's just a futile action, the girl is already dead, though it sounds so ridiculous but that's the only thing that can explain a heart that has stopped beating.
"Muriel," she mumbled in distress as her head was wondering what to do. The only option she has is to use the reviving spell but the spell doesn't have a hundred percent guarantee that it could revive a dead person.
The possibility is less than ten percent and that is if that person still has a little life in them but Muriel's heart has completely stopped beating which means she's dead.
Dead? This still sounds unbelievably ludicrous to Madeleine.
How's that possible? A girl who was healthy some hours ago is now dead without any sight of blood or wound and no evidence that she could have been killed by a magical spell or something else.
But thinking this way still doesn't make sense. It's highly impossible for anyone to break into the supreme alpha's floor and kill someone without being noticed and not just that, he only left her a few minutes ago before she arrived. So nothing could happen to her in such a small range of time.
Madeleine ran out of thought but she definitely needed to do something before Alexander comes back. That man is ready to turn this pack upside down if he comes back and sees his mate this way.
Madeleine took a deep breath as she got herself in a position to use the reviving spell on Muriel but before she could even try, Muriel sneezed.
Madeleine subconsciously flinches and totters backwards. She widens her eyes in shock as she watches Muriel sit up from the floor as if nothing had happened.
Madeleine was beyond shocked, her whole state right now explained it. She blinked her eyes severally to know if she's not dreaming.
What the heck is this! Was she wrong when she thought Muriel was dead?
No, she couldn't be wrong. She can perfectly detect when someone is dead, besides, she stroked her body for minutes but she didn't react. Muriel was dead and now…
Her emerald green eyes squinted in bewilderment when she stares at Muriel who's searching the room effortlessly.
Her eyes fell on Madeleine and she quickly remembered her. She was the same woman that looks like her mother.
Muriel felt pain in her head, her head was throbbing hard. She used her both hands to hold her head, maybe it will help release the pain.
What happened to her? She just can't remember anything. The only thing she was able to remember is Alexander leaving her in the bathroom after he said he has somewhere to go and Madeleine will come be with her.
When he left, she took off her clothes and dipped herself into the water inside the bathtub.
She was enjoying the feeling of that water on her skin when all of a sudden everything went blank. It looks as if she was knocked out and she was no longer in her body, like something else took over her body and pinned her spirit down. She just doesn't understand that feeling… What does it mean?
Holding her head for some seconds and when the pain finally died down, she was able to revert her gaze on the flabbergasted Madeleine who's staring at her as if she has grown two heads.
Feeling a little bit weak, she still managed to stand on her feet, her eyes scanned Madeleine whose eyes were stuck on her but in an actual sense Madeleine was in stupor. Her eyes were staring at Muriel but her mind was wandering in different thoughts.
Muriel wonders why she's staring so intensely at her. She looked down at her body to know if she had something odd on herself.
She actually has something odd, she's naked!
Her cheeks bronzed in embarrassment as she quickly got hold of the towel and hastily covered her skin. Muriel thought that Madeleine was staring at her nakedness but she didn't know that the woman's mind was far away from noticing that she was naked.
