That action of Muriel finally got Madeline out of her daze.. She blinked her eyes and stared back at the flushed Muriel.
"I… I'm sorry, I will leave now. I will let you get dressed," Madeleine who hardly stutters can't even get her words straight at this moment.
She left the bathroom and entered the room. Her head felt as if it's going to burst any minute from now. She's just so damn confused right now.
She can't comprehend what just happened. She kept asking herself if she was wrong when she thought that Muriel was dead.
No matter how she thinks it, she truly believes that Muriel's heart stopped beating a while ago and that only explains that she was dead but how can a dead person suddenly wake up.
Madeleine doesn't know what to think at this moment. That girl Muriel is strange.
She doesn't even know how to tell anyone what happened, of course no one will believe her. Who will believe that someone died and suddenly wake up… anyone will find it absurd.
She's still on her assignment of finding and learning more about the last pure blood witch. She believes that apart from being born with a golden star mark, the last pure blood witch can be recognized by something else.
Since she's not sure of the golden star mark she saw on Muriel's wrist which just flashed for a second… She can't conclude yet that Muriel is the last pure blood witch so she needed other things that could make the last pure blood witch more recognizable. But even if she turns out to be the last pure blood witch, does that give her the power to die and wake up alive?
She was still in her thoughts when Muriel walked out from the bathroom all dressed up. The light peach dress Alexander bought for her corresponded so well with her flawless pale skin making her look absolutely beautiful, her sky blue-eyes shining brightly but also filled with something that seemed like confusion.
She had the notebook with her and she had written some words in it.
She handed over the notebook to Madeleine.
Madeleine took it and read the written words in it.
"What happened to me?"
She reads and then her eyes stare at the curious Muriel. Her eyes didn't hide how she felt.
Muriel felt that something happened to her. She was inside the bathtub and then all of a sudden, everything went blank and she couldn't remember what happened afterwards. When she woke up she saw herself on the floor and no matter how much she thinks, she can't remember anything or why she suddenly blanked out.
Madeleine just stares at the girl, what answer could she possibly give her. She herself doesn't even understand what happened and it looks like the girl doesn't know what happened to her either.
Everything that happened felt so surreal to Madeleine. She just can't grasp anything from it. How can she tell this girl that she died and suddenly wake up alive. Of course, this girl won't believe her. She herself finds it disbelieving.
She breathed out and said, "I think you fell asleep while taking your bath. Don't worry, something like that happens occasionally."
That's the only answer she could give the girl.
Muriel nods her head but she still feels that's not what happened to her but since she can't think of anything, she will have no choice but to believe that she fell asleep while taking her bath.
She was about writing something else but Madeleine stopped her.
"No need to use your notebook, I can understand your body language," Madeleine said and flashed her a not so vivid smile.
Is not that she doesn't like the girl, the girl looks lovely and adorable… the problem is that her head is filled with a lot right now.
It was at this moment that Muriel remembers that Madeleine could actually understand her language without her writing in a notebook.
She's really happy that she can understand her language, at least she will talk to her without going through the stress of writing in her notebook.
She also wants Alexander to understand her language, she will be glad if he does.
"I want to sleep," she said to Madeleine through her usual body language.
She doesn't know why she's suddenly feeling sleepy, she just can't help her heavy eyes.
"You can go to sleep," Madeleine said with a smile, this time the smile reached her eyes. She can't believe the girl is asking permission to sleep.
Muriel nodded her head and walked to the bed as she lay straight on it. In less than a few seconds, she drifted to sleep.
Madeleine was watching her as she sleeps, what happened a while ago still baffles her… she just can't explain it.
Her mind is wandering in so many thoughts. At the end of every thought, it still draws her to the fact that Muriel might be the last pure blood witch.
She has every reason to believe it, like what just happened a few minutes ago, the glowing of her body and that strange wind, also the golden star mark which flashed on her wrist for a second explained it all.
But what's pushing her not to believe her assumptions is that Muriel smells like a human. She wanted to think that she's a hybrid, maybe half witch, half human but a pure blood witch cannot be a hybrid. This is the reason she needs to learn more about the last pure blood witch.
She thought of the book, titled blood, which was written by the oldest priestess of the witches and wizards. That book will surely be of help but the problem is that no one knows where the book is and she wonders where she will begin searching it from.
Muriel was still sleeping when Alexander returned to the room, he's already done with the meeting.
Immediately the meeting was over, he quickly hurried home.
When he entered the room, he met his mate sleeping and Madeleine was also sleeping by lying her forehead on the bed while her butt rested on the stool beside the bed.
As if she sensed someone entering the room, she woke up and scanned the room and her emerald green eyes fell on Alexander. She rubbed her eyes and stood on her feet.
Her head was thinking of how to solve the puzzle about Muriel and she didn't know when she slept off in the process.
"You are back," she mumbled, stretching her arms.
"I asked you to take care of my mate but you ended up sleeping." Alexander's voice is cold as usual. He walked closer to the bed and sat beside his sleeping mate as his finger caressed her hair.
That meeting he attended slightly provoked him but seeing his beautiful sleeping mate helped in calming him down. He can't believe he missed her in just an hour of being apart from her.
"I was still vigilant though I was sleeping," Madeleine tried to defend herself.
Alexander knew that she's right, since she was able to wake up when he opened the door. It means that she was vigilant enough to know when someone walks into the room. That was why he knew it was not a bad idea to leave his mate in Madeleine's care.
"I will take my leave," Madeleine said but Alexander stopped her before she could leave.
"What you said about my mate, how certain are you?" He asked.
