Alexander was fast enough to pour some orange juice inside the glass cup and pass it to Muriel. She collects it from him and drinks half of the content. She took a deep breath after making sure all the food that stuck on her throat had gone down into her stomach.
"Eat slowly, love."
Alexander was concerned about her. Seeing the way she nearly choked on the food somehow brought fear in him. He's concerned about her not knowing she nearly choked on her food because of him.
She was so shy with the way he was staring at her and didn't know when she swallowed a bunch of food without chewing it to make it more flexible to pass through her throat. Luckily Alexander was fast enough to pass her the cup of orange juice which helps in pushing down the food to leave her throat and move to her stomach.
She couldn't continue eating because his eyes were still on her and she didn't notice they were filled with care and concern. She made sure not to look him in the eye and just dropped her gaze to look at her thighs. She looks like a timid little girl shying away from things that make her heart flutter.
"Are you okay?" Alexander was more than concerned. Seeing her not touching her food and just staring at her thighs, he thought that maybe she's still not okay from the food that nearly choked her.
Muriel just nods to his questions indicating that she's okay, still looking down and not sparing him a glance.
"Don't you want to eat more? Are you satisfied?" Alexander once again asked.
Muriel nods negatively which shows that her stomach is still not yet full and needs more food.
"Then why are you not eating? Is there a problem? You no longer enjoy the food?" Alexander's voice was cool and mild and full of concerns. The way he speaks shows how much he cares for his mate.
'If only he knew that he's the reason she's no longer eating,' Muriel thought.
Once again she nods her head negatively in a way to say no to his question. She enjoys the food, is just him staring at her is what was making her not to continue eating. If only she could let him know but the notebook is not here, he's not definitely going to understand her if she makes a gesture because it is not the normal simple gesture that he could understand. Yet again, Muriel believes that even if the notebook is here, she feels so shy to tell him that his stares on her was what prevented her from continuing eating.
Saying no to all his questions, Alexander wonders what could be the reason she stopped eating after she nearly got choked.
He was trying to figure it out by thinking hard when all of a sudden Dylan came out from nowhere with his effervescent nature.
"Hmmm… what's with this sweet redolent aroma that filled the dining room… it's so mouthwatering!" Dylan squeaked as he made his way into the dining room.
"Big bro, you are not so kind. You're here enjoying these delicious looking meals without inviting your little bro," he added as he made himself comfortable beside Alexander and flashed him a sheepish smile.
Alexander just shook his head, he knew what that smile is all about. That's a way to beg him to let him eat the food.
This cousin of his is someone he has tried to get rid of from his life but this big headed boy refused to leave his side, he has been clinging onto him ever since he was a child. He thought he would scare him away with his cold nature, he thought that as a little boy, his cousin would be afraid of him but that little boy never waver a bit; rather he turned his back on his family just to be with him when he came of age.
No matter how Alexander tries to deny it, he loves this immature cousin of his though he's the son of his enemy and he is glad his little cousin didn't run away from him just like others who describe him as a heartless beast.
Though the boy behaves frivolous and bubbly, he's still intelligent. Though he has the blood of a gamma in him, he's still young to take the position of the supreme gamma of the whole pack who are under Alexander's reign but Alexander has never for once regrets giving him that position because he handles it well.
"I didn't notice your mate is here," Dylan said when his eyes caught Muriel who's sitting on the right side of Alexander.
"Hi!" He waves at Muriel with a bright smile on his face but Muriel takes her eyes away and lets it fall on her thighs once again.
He turned to Alexander and said,"It looks like your mate is shy, she's beautiful too."
Alexander flashes him a glare.
"Oh! my! my! I was just complimenting her. I can't believe you will be so possessive as other lycans, you didn't look like you would," Dylan quickly rushed off his words.
The stern nature of Alexander made not just him but every member of packs which are under Alexander's territory to believe that he might not be as protective and possessive as other lycans. But it looks like this hunky man is not close to what they thought.
Dylan stares back at Muriel. He can't believe that this timid little girl is the mate of the almighty supreme alpha Alexander but the girl looks beautiful. Though she only stared at him for just two seconds, he was still able to catch her beautiful sky blue-eyes. They were as bright as the clear morning blue sky.
Once again he tried to speak to her even though she wasn't sparing him a glance.
"Hi! My name is Dylan, this hunky man here is my big bro. Though he can be annoying and grumpy sometimes and his face always looks hard like rock, I still love him because he's the best," Dylan smirks as he peeps at the cold face of Alexander. Of course, that's always the state of his face but Dylan found him glare at him when he said those words. He just wink at him and continue speaking to Muriel who still hasn't raised her eyes from staring at her thighs. Dylan knows that he's the only one that can behave those ways with supreme alpha Alexander without inviting his rage so he always takes advantage of it.
"I'm his charming cousin and since you are his mate, you are now a family so I can be a big bro to you or more so, we can be friends," Dylan kept on talking and talking without getting any reaction or a glance from the girl he's talking to but it seems like he didn't care as he continues speaking.
"Tell me what's your name?" he asked.
When he didn't get any reply from her, he pouted his lips as a sucking little baby and stared at Alexander.
"It looks like your mate doesn't like me," he mumbled, his voice sounding sad.
Alexander just shook his head and slightly rolled his eyes, wondering what he could do with this little cousin of his. He's sad over such an inconsequential matter.
He never wanted to care but seeing his sad face, he didn't know when he spoke.
"She's just meeting you for the first time, apart from the day you scared her with your wolf. She's still not yet acquainted with you so you don't expect her to open up to you immediately, also she couldn't answer your question because she can't speak."
"Huh?"
Dylan was about asking the question which Alexander knew he will definitely ask because this cousin of his is a curious person just like his mate— but Dermot voice cut him off
"Alpha there's a problem," Dermot said as he hastily joined them in the dining room.
