Madeleine let off a nervous smile and said, "You don't need to worry. I will definitely take care of her."
Apart from Dylan and Dermot, Madeleine is the only one that Alexander trusts and will have the mind to leave his mate with her.
He knew that what she previously did was a mistake and knowing who Madeleine is, she doesn't like repeating her mistake. So he trusts that she's going to take very good care of Muriel this time around.
He never wanted to attend this meeting but he has no choice because this particular meeting is more important than the preceding one. This has to do with an important business unlike the stupid complaints of those elders.
"She was having her bath when I left the room, I guess she must be through by now. I noticed she's comfortable around you so I will be more at peace to leave her with you," he added.
"Yeah," Madeleine nods before walking away.
Dermot opened the door for Alexander and he gently stepped in.
Dermot took the driver's seat but before he could put on the ignition and drive away he heard the rousing voice of Dylan.
"Alpha, wait for me! Dermot!" he screamed as he ran towards the car.
Dermot shook his head, this man is always fond of being late. He mind-link him like fifteen minutes ago to tell him that they will leave with supreme alpha Alexander in a few minutes but he still came out late. He has always wondered what he usually does that makes him appear late on any occasions.
If not that he's supreme alpha Alexander's favorite cousin, he would have gotten a very severe punishment from him.
Alexander always looks off Dylan's silly behaviors, he sees him as his silly cousin who's still immature. He can still remember when Dylan was little and he always clung onto him like a beetle. Even though he has grown into a man, Alexander still sees him as that little clingy boy.
Once Dylan was close, he opened the passenger door and hopped in. He's not painting a bit despite running from his room on the second floor down to this place, of course he shouldn't… lycans hardly break a sweat from running.
"Always late," Dermot playfully scowled at him.
"I think alpha should give you a crown for always being the punctual one," Dylan cuts in.
This duo always like teasing each other, they have been best of friends since they were kids though Dermot is older than him by a few years.
"Move the car," Alexander's voice which is always cold except talking to his mate—stopped Dermot who was about speaking.
He obeyed the supreme alpha and put on the car's ignition.
Dylan sticks out his tongue in a playful mockery, he knows that Dermot is silently sulking because the supreme alpha cut his moment of throwing his own words at him.
..
Madeleine clicks the silvery door open and gently walks in. There's no sight of Muriel in the room, maybe she's still in the bathroom.
She headed to the bathroom, she knocked but got no reply so she flapped its door open and moved in as her eyes scrutinized the colossal bathroom and they finally landed on Muriel who's still in the bathtub, the white foam covering her delicate body.
She saunters towards her. The girl had her head resting on the edge of the tub while her eyes were closed. It looks like she's enjoying the feeling of the water on her skin.
Madeleine smiles and squat beside the tub. Looking closely at this girl she's actually beautiful, not just beautiful but she's extremely beautiful. She has a very gorgeous and innocent face but Madeleine knew that this face will no longer be innocent if what she thought about her is true.
She's still making her investigation, she needs to be sure with her presuppositions.
She needs to understand more about the prophecy of the last pure blood witch which was made among the witches years ago.
The only thing she knows is that the last pure blood witch is evil and cursed but she doesn't know the reason why she's cursed, being pure blood, she isn't supposed to be cursed. So there must be a reason why she's cursed. Also she knows that she will be born with a golden star mark.
Muriel has that mark but this innocent calm face she's seeing is not evil. How can this frail girl be the cursed last pure blood witch.
She's just confused at this girl's true identity, she looks innocent and smells like a human but the way her body glowed and how an unknown wind swept her and Alexander off their feet at that moment says otherwise about this girl.
Could she be the one that controlled the wind but how?
All these she needs to find out before she comes to a conclusion.
She still finds it hard to believe that this little girl could be the cursed last pure blood witch. If she's the last pure blood witch, that means she's actually the one that controlled the wind because it was also stated in the prophecy that the last pure blood witch will be born with incredible powers.
She's definitely the one that controlled that wind because neither she nor Alexander did it.
Madeleine stares at Muriel for some seconds before calling out her name.
"Muriel?" She leniently called but got no reply.
"Muriel?" She called again and touched her but the girl didn't budge.
"Muriel, Muriel," she called once again and touched her multiple times but she still didn't move. She lied still like a dead person.
Madeleine was immediately engraved with fear as she shook the girl and still yet she didn't move.
What has happened to Muriel?
She quickly checked her pulse but her eyes widened in shock..
Madeleine was greatly engrossed in fear after she checked Muriel's pulse and it wasn't beating.
She gets more damped in fear and quickly stands on her feet as she brings Muriel out from the bathtub. The girl weighs nothing, so it wasn't so hard to take her out from the bathtub.
She carefully drops her on the neat bathroom floor, not minding that she's stacked naked. The trepidation in her wouldn't let her think straight. She's more concerned with making sure the girl is okay than caring about whether she's naked or not.
Looking at the girl, she looks like dead. What's going on with her?
Madeleine gulped down in fear at the thought that Muriel could be dead. Her pulse isn't beating and she looks paler than she was.
Madeleine's body began shaking as she placed her ear on Muriel's chest to be sure of her assumptions. She stayed in that position for some seconds but Muriel's heart didn't beat a bit. She remained in the position for over a minute and the result was the same.
Could Muriel be dead?
