Chapter 19 - Recruiting Venix

Three days passed in a flash, and Minos quickly met up with Jabar in the spot they had both agreed with.

"Minos, I got what you wanted. It's all recorded in this book." Jabar said with slight pride.

Minos took the book and quickly flipped through it, scanning all the critical info. Seeing nothing seemed wrong, he quickly nodded before saying goodbye to Jabar.

When he got home, he opened the book once more, but this time he paid more attention.

"Venix Elfon - 15 years old. Joined the sect when he was 13. A young master who originated from the Elfon family of Leaf Meadow City. His younger days were spent pampered, yet he was never arrogant, instead having a very good reputation among the citizens of Leaf Meadow City."

"Unfortunately despite his good behavior, the heavens seemed to dislike him. When he was 12, his entire family was killed by an unknown force. Venix had been visiting his grandfather in the countryside at the time of the attack, hence he escaped the slaughter."

"A year later he would join the sect, of course his entire personality had undergone a shift at this time, becoming quiet and withdrawn. With his exceptional talent, he quickly reached the Second Life Lock, and was on route to breaking the Third Life Lock, unfortunately, he seemed to have offended someone in the sect, who conspired to have him severely injured, possibly killed."

"Of course as you know now, the injury was fake, and the attack that happened to him outside the sect likely happened after he had already broken through the Third Life Lock, hence catching his assailants off guard, and letting him escape injury free."

Minos finally got to the last page, before flipping the book closed. Venix was the perfect person to work with based on what he had read. He was righteous and had a good character.

But more importantly, he had enemies in the sect, and so he needed any help he could possibly get, and that's where Minos comes in.

Minos needed someone to sell his talisman for him, and you may ask why he doesn't just do so himself, however the simple answer is that the world is cruel.

While he could sell talisman's, if anyone decided to look into him, it wouldn't take them long to realize Minos had only bought the Talisman Foundations book a month ago, which would reveal his shocking talent.

Don't think talent is always a good thing. Oftentimes revealing talent to demonic will instead hurt you more than help you.

This is especially the case with auxiliary occupation's like talisman masters, where each one is pretty much a money printing machine.

With Minos's weak strength at the moment, it probably wouldn't take long for someone to try to force him to make talisman's for them, and he'd essentially be turned into a slave, forced to work for others.

While he could rely on his handyman disciple title to get some protection, Minos didn't dare gamble. From what he had seen, handyman disciples quite frankly weren't even disciples, so the elders would likely ignore him if someone with enough power got in the way.

Hence Venix was the ideal frontman. With his strength, he would be able to sell the talismans with less scrutiny. Also given his background as a young master, one could theorize that he had learned talisman making in his younger years.

On top of all that, with the mid-level Lock Breaking Pill he had just won, he would soon be able to reach the Fourth Life Lock, officially joining the outer sect. At that point things would be even more rock-solid.

Before all of that however, Minos needed to know whether Venix was willing or not. But he wasn't worried, given everything he knew, Venix had little reason to refuse.

With Jabar's abilities, Minos quickly found the place Venix lived, and seeing as how the workday had just come to an end, it was finally time to meet him in person.

Minos soon found himself standing in front of a house that was somehow even dingier than the one he had cobbled together.

Knocking on the door, Minos waited patiently, and he was soon met with a gloomy face that seemed to have forgotten how to smile.

"Who are you, what do you want?"
