Miss Barrow goes back into Sarah's room and sits in the chair next to her. As she sits down, Sarah woke up.
"How are you feeling?" Miss Barrow asked.
"I'm fine, are there any updates on Megan yet?" Sarah asked her mother.
"Yes, there is, but unfortunately, it's bad news," Miss Barrow told Sarah.
"How bad?" Sarah asked, starting to get worried.
"The doctors don't know exactly, but they will know more in a few days once they have done a few more tests, but they do believe that from now on Megan will permanently have epilepsy or something similar," Miss Barrow told Sarah.
"How is her injury that bad?" Sarah asked Miss Barrow, shocked.
"It appears that she fell farther underground than anyone else, and that, plus the fact that she was left longer as she was the last one to be found, made her suffer a nasty head injury," Miss Barrow told Sarah. "It's ok; you will learn how to cope with Megan's new injury. I'll help you, and everything will be ok," Miss Barrow told Sarah.
"Will she be taking a gap year this year due to her injury?" Asked Sarah.
"Yes, she's going to be here in the hospital for another 3-5 days, maybe a week, and then she'll need time to accept what happened to her, come to terms with her new injury, and also learn how to deal with it. Olivia is also going to be having a gap year as well to give her time to heal and recover," Miss Barrow told Sarah.
"So it's only Hannah and me that are going this year?" Sarah asked.
"Yes, but I can help arrange for all of you to meet up during the holidays if you'd like to," Miss Barrow told Sarah.
"That would be nice, Megan and Olivia are still going next year like planned, aren't they?" Sarah asked.
"Yes, and then everything will be back to what was planned," Miss Barrow told Sarah.
"Ok, good," Sarah said.
Not long after, a doctor came to check up on Sarah.
"My name is Doctor Nathaniel's and I've come here to tell you You are improving very well and can be released tomorrow morning. We will give you some medicine to take for any pain you might get for the next few weeks. As You where probably told yesterday, you should be careful and take it easy for the next few weeks," doctor Nathaniel's told Sarah.
"She will be going to university next week, but I'll be doing most of the moving and lifting for university, and it doesn't stay until the 17th of September, so she'll have time to rest and settle in before it starts," Miss Barrow told doctor Nathaniel's.
"That's good to hear she has had a big surgery, which does take time to recover from," Doctor Nathaniel's told Miss Barrow.
"I'll take it easy," Sarah looked at her mother and said. "I want to wait to see Megan until she's out as I would rather not overcrowd her as I know Olivia is probably going to go and see her before Megan is released she and Megan have always been the closest everyone used to think they were sisters because they spent all their time together and always arrived together and if one of them get there before the other they would wait for the other one also every minute out of class they spent together they were also with me and Hannah, but everyone could tell they were closer to each other than they were with me and Hannah they only ever had a few fights in all the years we've been friends, so people assume they were sisters who got on well," Sarah told her mother.
Her mother smiled. "I believe she's visiting Megan tomorrow or the next day when she's released, but you can still visit at the same time or after if you want to; it's up to you; no one will stop you from visiting Megan," Miss Barrow told Sarah.
"I know, but I'll rather wait so I can recover too, I know Megan won't be that recovered, but she'll probably need a few days to rest from everything, so I'll prefer to see her then," Sarah told her mother. "If that's ok," Sarah asked.
"Of course, it is," Miss Barrow told Sarah.
"I can also see her during the Halloween holidays. I was going to come back and visit anyway. I can visit her and Olivia at the same time, and I can still message them and call them," Sarah told Miss Barrow.
"Of course, you can, and they will be glad to see and hear from you, they have been asking about you," Miss Barrow told Sarah.
"It's not that long away, and I'll be recovered, and Megan will likely be more knowledgeable about what's happening to her and be able to deal with it a bit better than now, so it will be better for both of us, plus Olivia's leg will be better and more healed as well," Sarah told Miss Barrow.
"Yes, it will, I'm glad you can leave tomorrow, you've had me worried," Miss Barrow told Sarah.
Just as Sarah went to say something, her mother interrupted her.
"Which isn't your fault; everything that happened was a tragic accident, and no one's fault, so please don't blame yourself," Miss Barrow told Sarah.
"Ok," Sarah said.
"I will leave you to get some rest and prepare for your release," Doctor Nathaniel's told Sarah.
"Ok, thank you for everything," said Sarah.
"I'm just doing my job, but you are welcome," Doctor Nathaniel's told Sarah.
Doctor Nathaniel's then left Sarah to rest and prepare for tomorrow. Sarah was excited to be able to leave to go home and get back to normal, or as close to normal as she could, She was thankful that at least everyone had survived the accident, she didn't know what she would have done if any of the girls hadn't made it.
