The next morning, Sarah woke up as the clock struck ten a.m.
"Hello sweetheart, Are you feeling okay?" Miss Barrow asked.
"I'm fine, and I'm glad to be going home," Sarah informed her mother. "I know that might sound bad because Megan is still here and will be for at least a few days, but I'm looking forward to going home and starting to get back to normal."
Miss Barrow informed Sarah, "That doesn't sound bad at all, you can be happy about leaving without having to feel bad."
"I know, but I can't help it," Sarah told her mother.
" I understand that, but no one wants you to feel bad, including Megan, just so you know that," Miss Barrow told Sarah.
"Yeah, I know, Did the cave accident destroy my phone? It's just that I want to call everyone when I arrive home to see how they're doing." Sarah asked her mother.
"Yes, it was damaged, but for some reason, it continued to work and ring when I tried to call you while looking for you. So, it's not unusable, but don't worry, I'll get you a new one and get everything from your old phone sent over," Miss Barrow told Sarah.
"Ok, thank you. I want to use it to call Megan, Olivia, and Hannah to check on them and make sure they are okay. You did say they are okay or are as near to being okay as they can be. It's just that it would be nice to hear that they are okay from them themselves and to hear their voices," Sarah told her mother.
"That's fine; I get that. When we get home and are settled in, I'll call the company that you got your last phone from and get you a new phone. In the meantime, you can call them on the house phone if you want to," Miss Barrow told Sarah.
"Thank you," Sarah said.
A doctor arrived not long later.
"My name is Dr Bennett, and I've come to tell you that you can be discharged and go home," Dr Bennett told Sarah.
"Ok, thank you," Sarah said.
"You'll need to take it easy for at least a few weeks and rest," Dr Bennett said as she flicked through Sarah's notes.
"That's fine; I will," promised Sarah.
"I think Hannah's getting released today as well. Maybe you'll see her on the way out, and if not, you'll see her when you go to university in a few days." Sarah was informed by Miss Barrow.
"Yes, that would be good. I have missed her," said Sarah.
"I know you have missed her, and she's probably missed you too," Miss Barrow told Sarah.
Dr. Bennett informed Sarah, "If you have any concerns or any issues regarding your recovery from the operation, you can contact us and you will be given advice on the best course of action to follow.
"I will thank you," said Sarah.
"I'll leave you alone while you get ready to leave." Dr Bennett said to Sarah, "I'll also give your mother some medicine you can take for any pain you might feel while you're recovering."
"I'll make sure she takes it if needed, and I'll make sure she takes it to university with her when she goes," Miss Barrow told Dr Bennett.
The doctor informed Miss Barrow, "That would be great. She may experience pain or discomfort for up to a few weeks, but it shouldn't be too awful. If it becomes unbearable even after taking the medicine, please contact us or have her contact us, and we will provide advice on what to do next. She then left the room to let Sarah and her mother get ready to leave.
Miss Barrow starts to get everything ready, and Sarah stands up and slowly walks over to her mother.
"I'm glad you are okay. If you need any medicine for the pain, then have some; it's ok; no one will think bad of you," Miss Barrow told Sarah.
Sarah smiled, "I know that, but I'm fine at the moment," Sarah told her mother.
They then left the room.
Miss Barrow watched Sarah as they walked through the hospital hallways to make sure she was okay. She couldn't help but be worried about Sarah and think about how close she had come to losing her.
Sarah and Miss Barrow passed through one hallway after another in what seemed like never-ending hallways.
"This is one bad thing about hospitals, the hallways are confusing, and they all look the same," Miss Barrow told Sarah.
Suddenly, Sarah heard a voice that she recognised, and when she turned the corner, a face matched the voice.
It was Hannah.
