Mrs meadows is woken up at three twenty seven AM by a phone call.
"Who is it?" asked mr meadows, half asleep.
"It's Deirdre, maybe she has an update for us on Megan or to tell us something has changed with Sarah I'll just go outside to answer it just in case it's bad news. It would be better if Olivia heard any bad news from us rather than over the phone," Mrs meadows told mr meadows.
" That's a good idea, I'll stay here with her while you go and talk to Deidre," Mr Meadows told mrs meadows.
"I'll be back in a minute, i won't be too long," Mrs Meadows told mr meadows.
Mrs meadows then left the room to answer the phone call.
" Deidre i can't really hear you, the signal is pretty bad," Mrs Meadow told Miss barrow.
"How….is….. Olivia?" miss Barrow asked.
"She's OK she has a broken right leg but she should be ok in a few months, have you heard anything about Megan yet?" Mrs meadow asked.
" Lottie has just rang me...and told me about Megan it's not...looking good she rang and spoke to jean and Jean told Lottie that megan has a brain...injury due to some bleeding around her brain…and The doctors have to run a...few more tests, but it's looking likely...that Megan is going to have epilepsy...or something similar from now on." Miss Barrow told Mrs. meadows.
"I'm so sorry to hear that when Olivia is given the all-clear to leave I can take her to see Megan if it's possible, that will probably cheer megan up" Mrs meadow told miss barrow.
"That would be nice, I'm sure…..jean would appreciate that and I think Megan…would like it too She will definitely need a ....bit of cheering up, also I think you should inform ... Olivia of Megan's injury beforehand, so then Olivia's got...a bit of time to prepare herself if you get what I mean," miss Barrow told mrs meadows.
"Yes of course I'll also let jean know before I turn up just to make sure it's OK" miss barrow told mrs meadows.
"Megan's probably not going to…be out for at least a few days, and hopefully…. Sarah gets the all-clear to leave soon and when she does I'll most likely...take her to see Megan if she wants to see her, which knowing Sarah she...…most certainly will," Miss barrow said.
"Yes she's probably missing the others a lot. She's never been separated from them like this apart from that one time when she was ill when she was younger, and they all acted as if it had been forever," Mrs Meadow recalled.
"Yeah I remember...…they acted...like it was the end of the world" Miss Barrow said.
"Hopefully, this is all over soon, and they can go home and see each other," Mrs Meadow told miss barrow.
"Yeah, hopefully...…Megan's probably….looking like shes going to be doing a gap year which….is a shame because she's going to...be separated from the others for most of the year," Miss Barrow told mrs meadows.
" Olivia might have to have a gap year
From UNi as well As her leg will probably take a while to get better and it might be too difficult for her to do uni while healing. it will be difficult and hard for all of the girls to be separated from each other, we will have to try to arrange for them to meet up as much as we can during the holidays, and then they will get to see each other as much as possible" Mrs meadow told miss barrow.
"I'm sorry Mary but I've got to go, the doctor wants...…to talk to me about Sarah but... I'll ring you later, I just wanted to update you on everything and... check to see if Olivia's all right," miss Barrow told mrs meadows.
"Yeah that's fine I understand if you have to go Sarah's your priority I'll speak to you later," Mrs Meadows told miss barrow.
Miss barrow then ended the call.
Mrs meadows then pushed the door open and made her way back into Olivia's room.
"Is everything alright?" Mr Meadows asked as mrs meadows walk into the room.
"No, not really there's an update on Megan" Mrs Meadows told mr meadows.
"I can tell from your face it's bad, How bad is it,?" Mr Meadows asked.
"She Very likely has a brain injury, The doctors have to do a few more tests. But they think she could now have epilepsy or something similar. They want know for sure and they will once they have done the other tests, but there's definitely something injury-wise and due to all of this Jean told Lottie that Megan's going to have to take a gap year and that she can't join the others like planned" Mrs meadows told mr meadows.
"That is a shame i was hoping that they would all be OK, and that they could go to UNI together like planned, we have to tell Olivia we can't keep it a secret," Mr. meadows told Mrs. Meadows.
"Yes I know, I'm just not sure how to tell her or what exactly to tell her as we still don't know exactly what's going on," said Mrs meadows.
"We should tell her what we know, which is not a lot but at least it's something we can't lie to her or keep it a secret because she will end up finding out the truth for herself, and then she'll be upset" said Mr meadows.
"I know I'll tell her in a few hours when she wakes up, I want to let her get some rest first" said Mrs meadows.
"that's a good idea, she's going to need to be rested to deal with all Of it and process it" mr Meadows told mrs meadows.
Mrs. Meadows then sat down in the chair next to mr meadows and soon drifted off to sleep.
Minutes later, Mr. Meadows followed suit and also fell asleep.
