Ten minutes later.
The arena is covered in blood. Unlike before, it is not just the blood sprayed from injuries. Rather the stage looked like it is painted red.
In the middle of it, Kuma lay down lifeless while Viswa held the knife in his hands looking at him coldly.
At this point, Kuma's hand is pointed towards a certain direction.
He is unable to speak, but his eyes are showing more emotions than any words could describe. There is fear, pain and despair. He doesn't have any hope of living. He just wants to end this badly. He could feel his blood seeping out from various spots.
There are more than a hundred small cuts and stabs all over his body. His fingers were crushed, his nails were pulled forcefully. He looked like he would die at any moment, but the death is not coming. He is now craving it.
After asking initially, Viswa didn't bother asking him the same question anymore.
But Kuma knew what he had to do. So, right now, he is pointing at a certain someone in the crowd while gesturing for Viswa to see it.
Viswa turned to the direction and so did everyone in the crowd. It is Kai, who is sitting in the front row. He had a gloomy expression on his face.
Viswa looked at him, but there is no change in his expression. He is as cold as before. He turned to Kuma and while he was watching threw the knife away.
He then gently dragged Kuma out of the bounds, before exiting the stage himself.
The fight came to anticlimactic end. But that is what the spectators wanted. An end, no matter what the conclusion is.
As Viswa walked away, everyone including the students and instructors gave him the way. It hasn't been that long before Viswa came to the academy. It has only been a few weeks. And he cleared out the repeaters with his own hands.
That too in the most brutal way possible.
All the students felt chills run down their spine and then they looked at Kai.
Even with no words, everyone understood somethings by now.
Kai is the person who must have sent the repeaters after Viswa in the Circle 1 Forest. They don't know why, but they surely have some bad blood from before. They assumed it must have been from when Viswa shaved one of the Kai's subordinates bald.
They also understood that Viswa can sure hold a grudge.
He has made life destroying injuries to these people for some very petty grudges. Even the people who are injured the least by him are still on the bed and no one knows if they will ever get out of it.
They are sure that he is going to clash with Kai soon, but they are not sure if this streak will continue.
After all, Kai is not an ordinary person. He had a mountain backing behind him.
While walking away, Viswa looked at the screen in front of him.
[YOU HAVE CHANGED THE DESTINY OF KUMA. OBTAINED 35 POSITIVE KARMA POINTS. YOU HAVE A TOTAL OF 230 KARMA POINTS. YOUR RECOVERY RATE HAS RAISED TO 230%.
YOUR SPIRITUAL ENERGY ABSORPTION RATE HAS INCREASED TO 23%]
Viswa made quite a bit of Karma points in this streak of fights. And after spending five of his points to analyze the opponent, this is his current level.
He went to the resource collection point to collect his resources as per the deal he made with his opponents. After that he went back to his dorm to freshen up a bit. He could feel that the bottleneck has loosened a bit more.
He felt like he would be able to reach the peak soon if he tried a bit more.
So, after changing he decided it would be better for him to go back to the forest. But before that, he has to go back to the orphanage once. Since Kai tried to target the kids, it would be better to make sure.
He calmed himself down and went to the orphanage with a smile.
But he was not allowed inside.
He was blocked at the entrance of the building and he wasn't blocked by some instructors or seniors, instead it was two people he knew very well.
"What is the meaning of this? Why aren't you letting me in?"
Viswa asked with a smile as he rubbed the heads of both Manas and Manavi.
"You.." Manas was about to say something, but Manavi blocked his mouth. She then looked at Viswa with a pout, before turned his head away. But Viswa could see that she is glancing at him sideways.
He crouched down and said.
"Who made our big sister Manavi angry? I will teach them a lesson."
"Hmph." Manavi crossed her arms as she turned her to a different side.
"Alright, my apologies. I should have visited sooner."
Manavi finally turned back and hugged him.
Even though the kids in the orphanage are all pretty close, the twins are particularly attached to Viswa. He told them that he would visit often after he got into the academy, but he has been way too busy with his schedule to make time.
He went to greet rest of the kids and spent some time there before checking the surroundings to see if there are any changes.
He even asked the kids if there is anything different these days. But he didn't get much information. The surroundings are also pretty much clear. There is a reason for him to be this anxious though.
If Sir Warden was here, he would have been much more relieved, but he learned that he had left the academy on a mission and he hasn't been back for a while. Viswa doesn't know where he went, but he has to make sure that the kids are safe in the meantime.
After playing around with them for a while, he went back to his dorm. There Jiva and Erin are talking about some of their classes.
Seeing Viswa, Jiva tried to smile and greeted him.
"How are you doing? I didn't get a chance to greet you since you came back from the forest."
Viswa looked at him and said.
"It is alright if you don't want to interact with me. You don't have to force it."
The smile that was already a bit stiff was frozen.
"No, it is not that."
"Its fine, just from looking at your expression, I can see that you are conflicted and scared. Don't force yourself."
Viswa just laid down on his bed after those words to rest for a while. After taking a short nap, he went to the student union.
He met with the president.
"What do you want? More duels?" The president asked him with a snarky tone.
Viswa smiled and said.
"I don't think I can challenge anyone for a while. I am here to ask you about something."
"What would that be?"
"Is there any way to know when Sir Warden would be back? I learned that he went on a mission."
The president stopped in his tracks and looked at Viswa.
"Why would you want to know that information?"
Viswa didn't know what to say, but after some hesitation he decided to say the truth.
"Kuma warned me about someone that is trying to attack the orphanage. I might be able to deal with Circle 1 students, but the other party has means that go beyond Circle 1 cultivators. I won't be able to stop them."
"Oh, you don't have to worry about it.
The orphanage is under the protection of the academy and the student union. Unless someone has a death wish they won't be able to do anything to it."
"I am sorry, if I have a hard time trusting you. But I cannot be rest assured with the way things go in this academy. I would be happy if you can let me know when Sir Warden will come."
The student union president and the rest of the union members all stopped their work at hands and looked at Viswa. They had cold gazes and all of their auras are locked in on Viswa.
The president stood up and looked Viswa in his eyes.
"I am sure you might have some reasons to say those, but I am giving you my word. No harm shall come to the orphanage when Sir Warden is away. They will be safe and sound."
Viswa looked at him deeply before nodding.
"I will trust you for now.
If so, can you process this please?"
Viswa pushed an application forward.
It is his application form to get back into the forest once again. He decided that it is better for him to ride the momentum and overcome the bottleneck.
The president didn't bother him much, he just processed it and gave it back. Just when Viswa was about to leave, he seemed to have remembered something and said.
"It seems like you are close to Circle 2."
"I am still a bit away."
"Its good. So, I suggest you start taking missions. After all, the strength in itself is not enough to get promoted to Circle 2, you need to gain a certain number of points by finishing Circle 1 missions.
If you do those missions after reaching Middle Stage of Elementary Level Cultivation, the point rewards will be reduced and you will have to do five to ten times the actual number of missions.
Be careful not to breakthrough."
Viswa slapped his own forehead as realization dawned on him. Of course, he knew of it. But he forgot. He was indeed thinking of sprinting to the next stage of cultivation.
He would have been in deep shit if he had missed it.
