The twins sat by the edge of the island that grew out like a small cliff for a while before pushing through the pain and making their way back to school. They reached the school's gate and scaled through the brimstones on the walls up to the top. Their muscles ached with every climb. When they got to the top, they lifted their heads to check for the school's watchmen.
"Can you see them?" Raten asked his brother.
"No, it's clear." he responded. "Are they on your side?"
"No, it seems we came right on time." Raten answered.
"Let's make the jump quickly then."
Placing both arms on the top of the wall, they lifted their bodies up and sat on the edge of the wall. Being as quick and stealthy as they can, they jumped off and fell to the ground with a thud. Raten had missed a step and fell, causing Kiyan to trip over him. They hit the ground but did their best to make no sound even when ur hurt a lot.
They quickly got up and made their way to their dormitory. They made sure to blend in with the shadows, using the cloaks they wore to cover their features.
"Why don't you ever land on your feet?!" Kiyan whispered maliciously at his brother. The trip felt like adding more wounds to the already wounded. Their bodies ached even more now.
"It's not my fault that the grass was wet!" Raten replied in a whisper as well.
They contemplated for a while which path to follow. The front door and walk up the deathly stairs or scale through the walls and enter their rooms through the windows. Eventually, they chose the front door. As they stepped in, they were met whom they mistook to be one of the watchmen at the door. On a closer look, the person was much younger, although older than they were.
The person took off the cloak and gave them a questioning look. They both were relieved to see whom it was, but also wondered as to why he was out there at that time.
"Rodney? What are you doing here?" Kiyan queried.
"Same goes for you, but these questions should be left for later, we need to get in before they see us," he replied. They all then hurried inside, taking stealthy steps to avoid attracting the dorm's keeper.
They made it to their room and opened the door slowly to reduce the sound of creaking and shrieking it usually made. They walked in to find the remaining three of their roommates sleeping soundly.
The trio then took off their cloaks and threw them under their respective beds. The trio didn't push further about the reason for their late wondering as it would lead them to talk about something they didn't wish to reveal. Almost simultaneously, they fell to their beds and immediately fell into slumber. They didn't have much time to sleep for they had only two hours before the break of dawn. If any of the occupants of room 116 would miss the alarm, it would surely be these three.
But, they weren't alone. As usual, they all had slept in. Jarett decided to take the initiative to wake them up with a bucket of water. He had asked cross to accompany him. They both held in their hands buckets of water. Jarett stood on one end and cross on the other end of the room.
"They seriously sleep this way?" Cross wondered looking at the awkward positions the six of them were laid in sleep. Three out of the six were almost completely fallen off their beds. "It is in their fortune the school does not have bunk beds."
"On three, we splash all six of them all at once," Jarett said. They were not considering the fact that their sheets and a good part of the floor would get soaked as well. It was none of their business anyway and so went on with the plan.
"1..2..3" Jarett counted and they both splashed water on the six boys who jumped from their beds in shock. Some of them fell off due to the way they were laid.
Wiping off the water from their faces, with looks of wonderment. Their breathing was heavy for a brief moment as they looked around.
"What the-?" Said Lecter in confusion.
"Water?" Wallace looked at his body and his bed.
"Wakey wakey," Cross said.
"You two? Why?!" The twins lashed out in ager when they saw to boys with buckets in their hands and a smirk on their faces. It was obvious they were the ones who poured water on them.
"We were being good people preventing you from going to class late," Jarett replied.
"Being good people? You're already in uniform! The alarm had rung a while ago. We will still be late." Rodney argued. He also looked to be pissed about the water they had poured on them. There was a better way to wake them up.
"You being late is all your choice," said Cross.
"Hurry up, today's class is important," Jarett said and they both left. The six roommates looked around their wet room and groaned. Kiyan fell back on the bed with a groan. They sluggishly pulled themselves out of bed and got ready for class.
"Wait, are we going to leave the room like this?" Lecter questioned.
"You can do something about it if you wish to," Damien replied as they walked out of the room.
Unlike the first week of school, this time they walked casually to class not bothering if they would be early or not.
Chadwick didn't seem to do much besides make them hit themselves and throw them to the wall. It hurt, but it was endurable. They got to class and met a full hall as always. Only this time, Mr Chadwick wasn't there yet. Perhaps they were early, they thought. Unlike usual, Raten didn't check his pocket watch for time before leaving his room.
They took their seats next to each other, we always. Just then, Chadwick walked in. The rowdy class soon turned quiet. Chadwick made his way to the center of the circular class. He stood next to the podium where a book was placed.
"Good morning students," he greeted. "Today's lesson will be on the history of magic. All the questions I told you to put on hold, every knowledge you need to know about how this academy and the current world came to be, the story behind Teferi, all will be attended to today. You had all pay attention." The book on the podium then opened to the first page.
The class was excited as he said these words. They were finally going to be in the know of what was happening. The twins had mixed emotions, they wanted to know about the Teferi brothers, but the though of the twisted story they would hear would rub them the wrong way, seeing as it is what decides their fate.
