"I just want to know, after the last battle, Did Agnar Teferi die?" A student with circular spectacles asked.
"He did," Chadwick answered.
"That is false! Agnar is still alive!" A student shouted for the whole class to hear. His outburst caused them all to turn in search of who spoke. His roommates whom were always seated around him also turned to look at him.
"Pardon?" Chadwick asked looking directly at a certain red-haired and blue eyed make student.
"A-Agnar Teferi is still alive," Wallace repeated himself, in a more gentle tone.
"Can you prove your claim?" Chadwick asked.
"I, I, I was there. That night in Veldon when it happened. I saw everything. I might have been very young, but, I'm sure of what I saw, my memory is definitely not playing tricks on me, I'm sure of it. When the emperor and his men thought Agnar had left, he returned with two other men and the battle carried on. Everything was destroyed but, Agnar remained. He survived the attack."
"Yes, he's right," Another student spoke up. I remember, the battle carrying on into Mulgard, but..." the student then held onto his head and grimaced in pain. "I don't remember anything after that."
"Now that you mention it, my father did talk about an incident thirteen years ago, but, it seemed like there was a space of memories that he just couldn't fill." Lecter said.
Chadwick stood quietly as if in thought. "Could it be, they weren't just rumours and these children are right? Then it would make more sense for the empire to be preparing for war." Chadwick thought to himself.
"Looks like I can't back away from this one," he sighed. "In this room I will tell you that if you choose to believe he is dead, then he is. If you say, he is alive, then he is. But, don't ever think Teferi will not rise again."
"Goldilocks," he called out to the golden haired student. "A possible reason for the creation of new warrior wizards would be that they are preparing for a another war, a war against Teferi, wouldn't it?"
The student had a large grin after hearing Chadwick's response. "Even after all this time, he is still being feared and hunted. He is just awesome. I want to be just like him," he thought aloud. The students around him heard what he said, and so did Chadwick even though he was quite a distance away. Chadwick was beginning to have stress lines on his forehead as he frowned.
'These set of children will be troublesome,' he thought. "State your name."
"Simon Blackheart," the student replied.
"If you really do not want to be killed on sight, never said what you just said anywhere else. Never say it at all. In fact, get the thought out of your head!" Chadwick warned. Those who didn't know what he was talking about were confused, but he seemed to be talking to the one who just introduced himself as Simon and so it didn't bother them.
Simon only shrugged at his teacher's words. He definitely wouldn't heed to that warning.
"You are a bold one, I must say," Raten from beside his brother said to the student.
"Of course, I am. Why would I be quiet about my admiration?" He replied. "Just as Agnar Teferi is, Simon Blackheart is a name to be remembered for centuries to come."
While the three of them conversed, someone else did not like what was happening. He would do anything he could to prevent those three from eventually building a friendship.
"And to you Snow whites," Chadwick said referring to the twins. They raised their brows and returned their focus to him. "I did say you can believe what you want, but when that belief discredits everything written in the history books, especially about this man, please keep your belief to yourself." He addressed Kiyan. "I am not saying it is wrong to make known your beliefs, I only want for you to not die because I told you to have your own beliefs."
"Basically, it's about you," Kiyan said not meaning for it to be that loud, but it was and Chadwick twitched a bit on hearing him. Ignoring Kiyan's remark, he moved on to Raten.
"And, there is still no way one is to know who the brother of Agnar was. So, i have no answer to give you. Everyone is left to their own presumptions on that." He paused and studied the three of them.
"Why do I feel like I have put myself in trouble by telling them to question the books and take what they believe to be truth?" Chadwick thought wishing he could erase that memory from the children, but using magic on students if not for teaching them was against the school's rules.
"If I may speak sir," a familiar student, with messy dark hair and brown eyes, named Bray raised his hand. Chadwick gave him permission to speak.
"I think we are diverting from the history of the academy to the life of Agnar," said Bray. "Yes he affects to a great extent the forming of this academy and existence of magic, but today's lesson is supposed to be about the past and not his return. I do agree that him being alive is a cause of worry, unlike those three who are making it seem like it's nothing, but that shouldn't be today's focus."
Chadwick was actually happy with these words. "What a way to evade any more questions about Agnar," he thought.
"Very well said, lad and now..." Chadwick was about to say more about the academy but was cut short by the low, reverberating sound of a ringing bell. For the first time in his years of teaching, he was more excited than the children to end the class.
"We continue from here tomorrow," he said. "Oh and, goldilocks, snow whites, see me after your classes." He said to Simon, Kiyan and Raten.
"What a way to identify us," Kiyan sneered.
"The name does suit you," Damien said and chuckled a bit.
Everyone moved out of the class with the lingering thought of Agnar in their minds. They might have acted calm in class, but the mere thought of the academy preparing them for war against Agnar shook them.
"Hey, if those two are actually friends of yours, you should tell them to stay away from him." Cross said to Jarett who had his eyes on Simon and the twins.
