Leaving the gates of the academy, the students wondered about for a while. The School's authorities didn't bother about them getting lost for it was impossible to miss the school no matter where you were on the island.
Lecter stood outside the school's gates with Damien. They both just looked around the place not knowing where to start. "I want to get a nice view of this place." Lecter said.
"You can start by taking a stroll." Damien suggested.
"Or better.." Lecter took off the brown necklace with an odd gem and an eye symbol around it. He dropped it on the grass and said, "It's time to come out."
"Who are you talking to?" Damien wondered staring at Lecter and the weird necklace. Suddenly, the necklace glowed brightly and in its place a griffin appeared jumping and swaying around.
"Y-you have a griffin?!" Damien shouted in astonishment. The sudden movement of the beast had startled him and he fell to the floor on his bum staring at the beast fly about Lecter.
"How did you tame it?" Damien asked getting back to his feet. He was cautious around the griffin. It was five times his size and for what he knows, it could be hostile.
"Tame it? This is my baby." Lecter said rubbing on the griffins fur and feathers. The griffin rubbed its body on Lecter and moved its tail about almost.
"Can I?" Damien asked still at a distance.
"Sure," Lecter responded knowing what he wanted. Damien immediately moved closer and still cautiously placed his hand on the griffin. He immediately had a gleam in his eyes as his hands touched it.
"He's so soft." Damien said getting a feel in the beast's part fur and part feathery coated skin. The griffin suddenly moved startling him. It looked in Damien's direction and Lecter immediately patted its body, calming it down.
"He's friendly." The griffin shook it's head ruffling up it's feathers a bit.
"It's so cool you have a griffin. What's his name?"
"Goldfield." Lecter answered. "You've being in that necklace for so long, you must be hungry." Lecter spoke to his beast. "Let's go find you something to eat." They both headed into town.
Meanwhile, just outside the school's dormitory, two girls sat in the open field. One looked to be helping the other with her magic. One of them had short black hair parted from the side, that fell at her shoulders. She wore a simple, yet beautiful blue dress and was trying to help her friend and roommate whose body was completely covered by the clothing she had on.
As usual, the smaller one had every part of her body covered up in straps of dark clothing. She still had on the school's cloak. She placed the cloak over her head. Her dark hair fell over her face but was kept inside her cloak. It blocked out most of her facial features, but one significant thing still was still evident, and that was the blindfold she had on.
"It's still not working, Lucy. Maybe we should leave this be. You could go enjoy your day and I'll keep on trying." The blindfolded one said.
"This is a good way to pass time for me. Besides, I am also trying to help myself here." Lucy replied. "Just take in a deep breath, concentrate, and try again."
Listening to her newly found friend's words, she took in a deep breath and said, "Illuminate." Still nothing happened. "This is frustrating. I can't even make a small spark."
"You were confirmed of having mana in you, so this will work. It's just taking some time. I as well haven't been able to get this one right." Lucy said and flipped the page of the book she held in her hand. She looked at the cup of water in front of them. "Levitate," she said with her arm out. The cup only shook a bit and stopped. "At least I got to make it vibrate today."
"It's not working because you're saying it wrong." A voice said and with it were footsteps headed in their direction. Lucy turned to see who it was. She tilted her head looking at the white haired, green eyed similar looking boys walk in their direction. The twins were on their way out when they, well Kiyan saw someone who had caught his attention. He then pulled his brother to come along. On hearing their conversation, Kiyan decided to tell them what they were getting wrong.
"Saying it wrong? How am I saying the word wrong?" Lucy asked as she furrowed her brows a bit.
"Exactly that, you don't say it as though it's a word your pronouncing. You are casting a spell, so you must say it that way. You want the cup to rise in the air, then you tell it to. You order it to, you don't just say it." Kiyan replied. While he spoke with Lucy, Raten was moving closer to the other.
"Aha! I knew I couldn't be wrong." He said when he got a closer look. "It's Little!" He said with an innocent smile.
"Stop calling me that!" She shouted in his face startling him and he moved back. He clearly wasn't expecting an outburst.
"That's just rude," Lucy said.
"Is it? I didn't know." Raten said placing his hand on his nape and gave a nervous smile. "In that case, sorry Little," He said unintentionally referring to her as 'little' again.
She loosened the chain around her wrist a bit and used the loose end to whack Raten across the shoulder repeatedly. "You annoying rude idiot!" She yelled. Kiyan was laughing watching his brother trying to block the flogs from the angry girl.
"Sorry, sorry, it was a mistake." He said with his arms up. "But, in my defense I'm only saying things as I say it." He grinned.
"You!" She was about to hit him again but he quickly moved and avoided it and then got back up on his feet.
"Just wanted to say hi!" He shouted while running off as she took off her and threw it at him.
"You should take what I said into consideration though." Kiyan said to Lucy and then left to join his brother.
"Did you really have to?" Kiyan said to his brother.
"But, I am saying the truth, she is so small." Raten said and a small rock connected with his head. The one who threw it had a her lips curved downwards in a frown. She had heard his words to his brother and it got her even more infuriated. She picked up a little rock on the floor at him.
Kiyan was about to laugh but got hit on the head as well. "Ow! what did I do?!" He yelled holding onto the bump on his head.
"You laughed!" She replied.
"If you don't want me to call you Little, what's your name then?!" Raten shouted back.
"It's Alba! My name is Alba!"
"That's a nice name, see you later Little!" He shouted and ran off.
"Hey, don't leave me here!" Kiyan said and ran after him. Alba threw everything she could find, her book, the cup, her footwear and even Lucy's at them.
"How annoying!" She spat watching them make for the gates. Lucy had her hand over mouth trying to suppress her laughter. As soon as Alba turned around, she kept a straight face.
"Let's get back to what were doing." Lucy said after clearing her throat.
As they crossed the school's gate, they paused and looked about. "Were you able to find out what it was when it touched you?" Kiyan asked.
"Yes, and it is as I suspected. They are suppression chains," Raten replied.
