Pushing through their aching legs, they climbed up the stairs. Getting to the first floor, in front of them was a wall with the number of rooms being room numbers one to forty two. The twins looked at the papers given to them with the number a hundred and sixteen boldly written. Sighing, they continued onto the next floor.
They got to the second floor and on the wall again was written numbers forty three to eighty four. "This is torture." Jarett complained and they continued to the next floor. While the twins were in room one-sixteen, he was given room one-seventeen.
"I wish these stairs were like the ones in the academy, they would have moved to where I wished to go, taking me there directly. This! This is a pain!" The skinny one complained and they all on the stairs couldn't agree more.
On the third floor, it was written rooms eighty five to a hundred and twenty-six. With a smile on their faces, they walked in the circular manner of the building looking for their room numbers.
"Room 116! Finally!" Raten exclaimed in glee as they found their room. It also happened that the skinny lad who had fallen at the door with them was their roommate.
"We're just a door apart. Well then, see you tomorrow. I need rest." Jarett said and waved them goodbye.
Walking in, the trio saw they were the first ones in the room, they looked around and thankfully the room was quite spacious and had six beds placed beside each other with small drawers next to each one. The room had just three windows, each one in-between two beds, which let in a lot of light and cool breeze.
"Isn't this convenient." The skinny lad grinned. Being the first ones there, they hurriedly occupied the beds closest to each window. They just threw their bags on the beds for the moment while exploring the other door in the room. It was empty and having no use for it, they left it and returned to the beds.
Raten laid with his hands beneath his head while facing the ceiling. "Finally, a new environment." He spoke softly to himself though the others could still hear him.
The twins introduced themselves to the lad whom they found out to be named Damien. They were too tired to engage in any sort of conversation and lay in silence, slowly falling into slumber. Well that was until the door was pushed open.
"Why was this room so hard to find?!" The boy who walked in yelled.
"You getting lost is no fault of the room," A red haired kid said as he walked in. He noticed the three who lay rather comfortably on the beds and recognized two out the three. His mind quickly returned to the maze when he got attacked by twins and here they are in the same room. "You two!" He shouted.
"Huh?" The three on the bed turned to see whom it was that suddenly shouted. The other who had walked in with the red haired had already picked a bed when the other suddenly yelled. He also noticed two very familiar faces.
"Kiyan, Raten, you're here." He said with a smile.
"Hey, Lecter. Now this is even better." Kiyan replied. "What's up with the enraged one?" He whispered, at least he thought he did.
"What's wrong with me is you both suddenly shot me with fire and lightning!" He yelled again. It took the twins a while to process what he was saying. They then thought back to a girl with chains around her.
"Oh! You're the jerk who had chain over that girl." Raten said.
"Jerk?! You both attacking me like that all of a sudden was uncalled for, I mean, you don't even know what she did to me!" The red haired said.
"Oh? She did something to deserve it? Then we're sorry." Kiyan said casually and lay back on the bed.
"Really? Just like that?"
"What else? You want an argument? A fight? We just got here and all that happened in the course of the exams, so it should be put behind us. If you held the crystal and got blasted, you won't be whining, now would you?" Raten asked.
"You are right," He said and picked the bed next to Raten. "Though painful, I was actually surprised two young boys could do that much and to take a guess that wasn't your best shot. I'm Wallace, by the way Wallace Gendi." He smiled as he introduced himself.
"Kiyan tef... Silverstone." Kiyan corrected himself immediately and also received a glare from his brother.
"Tef-silverstone?" Wallace asked.
"Just Silverstone." Raten answered and introduced himself as well. Lecter and Damien did same. The last roommate walked in and just moved to the available bed which was the last one. While trying to introduce themselves to him, they found him to be quite unwilling to socialize and so they let him be.
After a while, a lady walked in, and behind her followed carts holding trays of food. More than the person who walked in, getting a whiff of food attracted the boys attentions.
"We understand that you all must be tired and so, just for today, food is being served to you in your rooms." She spoke. She was Ms Simran, the school's cook. "Early tomorrow, your classes begin. You will all move to the main class after which you can check out the other homeroom classes. Once you all have made your choices, you will be given respective schedules for each class. Have a nice rest," She said and left. This little orientation was given in every room at the same time and all by clones of the same person.
Quite frankly, the boys barely heard what was said to them and were more focused on the plates of food now in the room with them. There were six plates each filled with food and as hungry carnivores would pounce on their prey, the six boys hurriedly grabbed a plate of food each and started chowing down as soon as the lady left.
"Here I was thinking I would starve all through the night." Damien said with a mouth full of food.
"The school's really considerate, don't you think?" Lecter said, stuffing himself with food as well.
"Mhmm." Wallace agreed with a nod.
The last roommate who had short, curly brown hair, and was about average height sat a bit away from the lot and ate in silence. "You do know you have to interact with your roommates, eh Rodney?" Wallace called out to him.
"I'm not in the mood," was his response. He didn't even bother to look in their direction. The others didn't mind him after that and continued eating. Once they were done, they placed their plates back on the little cart and it pushed itself out of their room.
They flung their bags underneath their beds, keeping the things they felt were the most important - books, pocket watch, amongst others were kept. Some of them even had little lanterns on top of the drawers. They took a look at their uniforms. Some of them attempted to try it on but found it hard and just left it. When they thought they were settled in, they all lay to get some shut-eye for it was then nightfall.
