"What was that for, huh?!" Kiyan yelled in Torrance' face as soon as they stepped out of the lunchroom and into quieter place.
"What exactly did I do wrong? I only called you by your names." Torrance retorted.
"Listen Torrance, you can't, you are not allowed to call us that. We have respective names we go by and that's Raten and Kiyan. If you so wish to call us by our last names, then it's Silverstone. We don't know who or what Teferi is. Don't call us that again!" Said Raten.
"Oh really? When did your names change?"
"We are being serious Torrance. You know the consequences of bearing that name. Why would you seriously come here and want us dead?!" Kiyan asked.
"Maybe you should have died that day if you didn't want this to happen. But, don't worry, I really want no issues with you two, so I won't call you Teferi. But, I hate keeping secrets and I feel everyone should know who you two really are."
"Torrance Carmichael, if you decide to carry out whatever stupid plan is in your head, you will regret it."
"What are you two going to do? What can you do? Will you beat me up? Cry to your daddy?" He teased pushing Kiyan on the chest. "Tell me! How will I regret it?"
Raten pulled his brother back and stood in front of Torrance. "If we ever get in trouble with any authority because of you Torrance, I'm telling you, I will make sure that whatever peace you have in your wretched life will be taken away." He glared at him directly in the eyes. "Whatever we would go through, I will make sure you suffer double." His voice was stern and his face firm. He was being serious.
Torrance almost laughed. "You must be Raten. You have always been one to mutter empty words. In two years, you found some guts. I'm impressed. Am I supposed to be scared now? Will you make me suffer?"
"I will make you regret your decision, I will cause tears to fall from the eyes of your parents for your sake," He responded.
If glares could kill then these two would have been dropped dead by now. The looks they gave each other were daring. They were drawing a battle line. "I will crush you, Raten. Same goes for you, Kiyan." He pointed at them both.
"You will be stomped on before getting the chance to," Kiyan replied.
"Trust me.." He slowly backed away. "School... No, living will be hell for you!" He said and walked off.
"What an annoyance!" Kiyan spat.
"We should have died that day?" Raten mumbled recalling Lecter's words. "This means, he was also there that day, Kiyan."
"That only boils my blood even more!" He tightened his fists and images began to flash in his head.
"You have to die, Teferi!" Those words rung loudly in their heads. The vision of a helpless man, blood on their hands, fire to the city, horror in the eyes of two little boys not over six years old with broken bodies and a man with a dagger. Shaking their heads, they pushed the memory to the back of their minds.
"We, we probably shouldn't think about it again." Kiyan said.
"He had better not bring it up again," Raten took in a deep breath and returned to the cafeteria.
They returned to where they sat with the new people they had met. No one wanted to bring up what had happened. It still didn't feel right speaking of that name. Some of them even got chills upon hearing it. They all decided to act like it didn't happen especially since the twins returned looking aggravated.
After lunch, they all went to their homeroom classes, Students with elemental abilities as a major went in one direction. Those who had already chosen a major which weren't elemental ones went a different way and then there were those who hadn't even learnt any, all moving towards the another direction.
The twins had to separate from the rest of their roommates at this point. They themselves were elemental users. Wallace and Jarett had already chosen a non-elemental major, the one called Justin went with them. While Lecter, Damien, Cross and Rodney had learnt none yet.
Kiyan and Raten walked into their homeroom class and it had, expectedly, only a few students. There was a man standing in front of the class. This classroom was brighter than the one they just left. Unlike the last which had long seats arranged in a circular manner, this one had one seat for each person. In front of the class, where the man stood was a seemed like a small stage.
He was a bald man, considered short compared to Chadwick. His eyes were monolid shaped and were almost covered by his full, shaggy eyebrows. He looked to be in his forties, same time, having the physique of a man in his early thirties. He waited till everyone was seated before he introduced himself.
"Welcome students to your first elemental class. I am Sir Elvis and I will be teaching you on matsery of the powers of the earth, which you can now control at your whim." He started.
"Be it the power of wind," He said and the children were hit to the face with wind, pushing their hairs back. "..Fire, Earth, Lightning, ice or even water," he continued. As he spoke flames appeared in his hand and then dispersed. The wooden floor beneath their feet rose and fell, lightning streaks surrounded his arms and vanished, their fingers froze up and then defrost, water then splashed the students in the face. "Whichever one, or two, perhaps even all, that you hold, I will be teaching you how to use them as easily as you breathe."
It was right to say the students were all amused. They had never heard of a man who was able to control all six elements at once. Yet, here they were, witnessing it all. 'This man must be very strong,' they thought. Elvis then sat on the floor with his legs folded. As he did, every chair in the room disappeared, and every student who was seated fell with their bums to the floor. The chairs then reappeared somewhat stacked in one corner of the classroom.
"I prefer sitting this way," He said as the students adjusted themselves on the floor. All of them sat in the same manner he did. "First thing you should know is, your ability to bring forth this certain power all depends on how much mana your body have internally. Though this true for whatever magical thing you want to carry out, for every elemental ability it sucks up more to use it than any other. Good news is if lost, it can be restored. Very easily, I might add."
