"I'm listening," Seilah said as she returned the cover of the pot and sat down at the table. Levina hesitated before speaking, unsure if it was a good idea to ask Seilah about the maid. But it was her only chance of finding out who had tried to poison Lucien.
"Well, last night... there was a maid who spilled tea on my dress. The drink was intended for Prince Lucien, actually. Do you know of any maids who were going to serve him? It was dark, so I didn't see her face."
Seilah appeared to be considering Levina's question, and for a moment, Levina felt a spark of hope. But it quickly faded when the old lady shook her head. "I don't know of any maids," Seilah said. "Soren had gone to the buttery to get a keg of beer, and I helped him carry the cups to the dovecote. I don't know of any other time a drink was taken to Prince Lucien."
