Reggie looked as though he was considering what Zarek had said, "If, my Lord, if. This war has gone on for more than ten years now and none of the commanders have been able to win it. The first two disappeared in battle and were never found, you remember what happened to your brother and his squad."
Zarek jumped to his feet, visibly angry, "I am not them, and Lucien failed because he was incompetent! I am not Lucien and I will win this. If you don't have anything helpful to say, then shut your mouth."
"Zarek! Control yourself," Lucretia retorted. "We are on your side here, and we are telling you this to help you."
"How is comparing me to my brother supposed to help me?" Zarek roared, even angrier.
Lucretia sprang to her feet, "He is not your brother?" she screamed.
When the words escaped her lips, she recoiled in regret. She just messed things up, she realized.
