I looked at my reflection for the fifth time in the mirror. In real sense, I wasn't inspecting my appearance. I didn't want Loretra to smell the lies off of me.
I knew better than anyone how dangerous she could be. She had once broken a girl's nose because she had looked at her boyfriend.
Despite the fact that she had never shown me that side of her, save for a few slaps here and there, I couldn't afford to take my chances.
" Are you okay? " Zeus asked while coming up behind me and wrapping his arms around my body.
I leaned into him, closed my eyes, and sighed in satisfaction.
" Do I have to go? " I asked but I was asking myself more than I was asking him. It had all been my idea to screw her over so it was up to me.
" Hey…" Zeus said and turned me around so that I was facing him. " You're safe because we'll be close by. Okay? "
