( Refer chapter43)
I tip-toed back into the house thinking that if I made the slightest noise, they would wake up and realize that I locked them inside their room. When I closed the door and realized that no one was waking up, I heaved out a sigh of relief.
I walked to the couch that was smaller than my body could fit and lay on it. I had to fold my legs in an uncomfortable position to be able to be in a sleeping position. I should have complained or kept turning but I was already used to it.
Lord knew how many times I had slept on the couch. Even when her boyfriend was not around, my sister would never allow me to sleep on the bed with her.
When he was around, it was the streets. I had been in more uncomfortable situations. Deep down I knew the reason she refused for me to sleep in her apartment was because she thought I would snatch up Blake.
Little did she know that I would rather die than be with a man like that.
