The space around Wilder started to distort as soon as he logged into High heaven.
This time, the scene in front of him was totally different from before. He woke up in a grand room with luxurious curtains, sheets, and a bed that was three times his size.
Ever since he took on the True Successor mission, his place of spawning has changed to the town hall of Jade Beast Town.
Ordinary people in the town were rarely allowed into the town hall, much less sleep in it, but of course Wilder's status was very unique and he was far from ordinary.
"Click." All of a sudden the door to the room opened, and the head of the jade beast cult stepped out.
It seemed like he had been waiting patiently for Wilder to log into the game.
"You corrupted are so troublesome." The leader of the Jade Beast Cult couldn't help but sigh upon seeing Wilder finally awake.
"Hmm." Wilder stood up from the bed he was laying on previously and stretched his hands forward.
This gesture caused the Sword of the Fallen to appear in Wilder's hands.
He then turned to the leader of the jade beast cult and nodded.
The corrupted the leader was talking about were actually the players of the game MMORPG: HIGH HEAVEN; it was part of the game play. It stated that the Demon Liado had cursed his descendants for not standing up for him when he was being attacked by the joint forces of fate; it cursed them to fall into eternal slumber just like him, but with the graces of the fates and the Lord of Light, they were given the blessing to wake up.
But even this was only for some periods of time.
The players of High Heaven would usually make fun of this so-called history; they themselves knew the truth, but the game NPCs firmly believed in this narration.
"When do we start?" Wilder asked abruptly
The cult leader didn't particularly like him; after all, he had killed his child. It had even gotten to the extent of him sending players to kill Wilder, but of course they all failed.
Wilder was one of the most powerful players in the Jade Beast Town Area; unless he had an NPC in the renowned rank, it was close to impossible to kill Wilder in this town, and after seeing his failed attempts at taking Wilder's life, the cult leader finally gave up.
Wilder was like a cockroach; he always kept coming, but he didn't want to give up that easily. Now he wanted to use the fact that he was corrupted to spite Wilder, seeing that he couldn't do anything about him.
"We have been ready for a long time," the cult leader said as he turned around and left the room.
Seeing this, Wilder followed suit.
Soon they were inside the court at the back of the town hall, where there seemed to be a 5-foot-9 female knight standing with a bag over her shoulder.
"Don't waste time; let's head out." The cult leader spoke in an angry tone as he begged Wilder to come over.
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Not long after, Wilder, the cult leader, and the knight could be seen leaving the jade beast town into the forest.
Their destination was a small cave perched on the side of a mountain.
This was the place Wilder had mounted an ambush against the previous successor of the jade beast cult; they were here again to do exactly what the previous successor had failed to do.
All the missions were now complete; all that remained was for him to get the true inheritance of the Jade Beast Cult and become their successor.
"Put this on," the cult leader said, giving Wilder some sort of head gear and starting to mark his body with some strange liquids.
They were now seated inside the cave where he had killed the previous successor. The pool was as clear as ever, like this wasn't the place he slit the throats of the previous successor.
The shrine was back; the leader of the cult had forced Wilder to recreate it, and now Wilder was standing in the same spot as the previous head.
Only he hoped that he didn't suffer the same fate as the previous successor.
"Focus!" the leader of the jade beast cult reprimanded Wilder.
He, too, was in some sort of ritual clothing.
This was the official and last ritual of the true successor; after this, one would be granted the ability to use the cult's more holy skills.
Jade skin
The specifics of the skill had not been explained to Wilder, but with some extensive research, he managed to get some clues.
The first thing was from the jade beast the cult revered; it was a demon-looking being with three heads: one looked aggressive, the other was sleeping, and the last was smiling without end. Its body was completely made of jade, so it probably had something to do with that.
It also seemed like the jade skin skill was fragmented and would only be complete after gathering the three other parts.
Right now, he only had the aggressive side of the beast.
"Tun kan poi nag," the cult leader muttered a few words, then picked up liquid from beside him.
This was the liquid he had spent so much time in the jade beast town trying to make, and the worst part was that the ingredients were stored in places in the area that were otherwise impossible to get into.
They were always in the den of the bully monsters; at some point, Wilder even reasoned that the leader was probably trying to kill him by sending him to those spots because he believed that there was no way the previous successor had survived against these monsters.
But he did end up finding all the ingredients here, so there was really nothing he could say, after this ritual He would be let out of Jade Beast Town so he could proceed to Savage City
"Drink the blood of the royal jade king," the leader of the jade beast cult said as he put the calabash of the liquid into Wilder's mouth.
*Demon essence potion injested
As soon as that notification sounded in Wilder's head, his whole surroundings started turning.
