Liam sighed as he sat on the bench, watching as students walked away from the stretching area and towards the center of the gymnasium. He hated that his wounds still held him down, unable to do anything much in regards to physical activities. He groaned as his back flattened against the bench, feeling defeated. He really wanted to go and join the others to the game of dodge ball. Of course, the game couldn't start until every student had arrived. Most girls we're still missing as well as a few of the boys, but when the rest of them arrived, 1 was missing.
"Anyone has seen Adrian?" The professor asked as he scanned his list of excused absences.
"He is absent, I have all my morning classes with him." One of the girls said, causing the professor to cross his name off as an unannouced absence. Following the presence taking, students were grouped in two teams.

Narcia gasped for air as she made her way towards the lockers. The game had taken a lot of energy out of her, and she was ready to go shower. Narcia walked to her locker with a sigh. She missed seeing her mate so little dressed for gym, being able to watch him sweat and move around swiftly. Her thoughts were quickly abrupted when Giuliana bumped into her back.
"Watch it!" Narcia growled before the girl gave her a glare. It was almost like she wanted to test her patience.
"Or what?" She tempted, Narcia's eye twitched in frustration.
"You don't know who you're messing with, I'd suggest you watch where you are going from now on. In fact, you should stay away from me and especially those I care about." Narcia spat out at her, causing the girl to smirk and twirl her index finger in her hair like she was innocently thinking.
"I suppose that includes Liam?"
"Especially him."
"I don't think so."
"Excuse me?"
"I said, I don't think so. You can't claim him for yourself. That little virgin boy will be mine~" She said, licking her lips, making Narcia grimace.
"I knew it... I couldn't tell why you reaked so much... But I know now. You're a witch." She said with venom, growling at her with canines showing.
"Good job, little wolf. You figured me out. Now, stay out of my way, I don't need you stupid shifters snooping around my business." She said before turning on her heels. Narcia quickly grabbed her shoulder, growling as she opened her mouth to make a point before she yelped. She pulled her hand away, gripping her wrist as her skin sizzled.
"You bitch!"
"I warned you. Stay out of my way." Giuliana said before walking off, leaving a defeated Narcia behind. She couldn't believe the nerves this witch had to take her on. Narcia decided not to dwell on it and walked to her locker, where she took her fresh clothes and went to shower. She would deal with this witch somehow. She couldn't help but feel uneasy about the interaction. The fact that she mentioned Liam being a virgin worried her, witches liked virgin men for wrong reasons. That's when it dawned on her that her mate was still a virgin. It made her whole face turn red with embarrassment. Now she knew he was going to be all hers and only hers. She quickly turned the water to cold, making herself yip. She hated her mind for putting that innocent yet vulgar picture in her head.
"Does that mean... Will he be embarrassed too when we will mate..." She whispered to herself as she turned the water to warm again, hugging herself while she lost her train of thoughts. She wondered if he would look at her innocently when they would do the dead. She closed her 6 pictured his face turning from innocence to pleasure while she took him deep within her.
"Narcia!"
The voice quickly snapped her out of her thoughts, causing her to cover her mouth in embarrassment. How could she have been thinking so dirtily about her mate?
"Y-yes?"
"Are you alright?" The voice asked quietly. She could tell it was a boy, but it was so faint from the loud sound of water that crashed against the floor.
"Yes, I will be out shortly."
"Alright, I will wait outside." The boy said before the door to the locker room shut, leaving her perplexed. Who could it be that would wait for her to come out? It could be Matt. He often came to see her after gym, although he also usually stayed with Liam for lunch, so it was highly possible it wasn't him. If that was the case, then who could be waiting there? She quickly finished washing and dressed before rushing out, bumping into a rough chest.
"Careful sugar, you could have gotten hurt." The husky voice said, making her grit her teeth.
"Silvano."
"Long time no see baby." He said with a lick of his lips, making her shiver. She didn't even know her ex went to her university.
"Don't call me that."
"Why not, my love? You used to love it." He said as he gently cupped her cheek, to which she flinched back.
"I don't like it, so don't do it." She firmly stated.
"Doesn't matter. We're going to marry whether you like it or not." He said as she rolled her eyes.
"In your dreams, maybe. But I have found my mate, you don't interest me." She said with a smirk as she crossed her arms.
"If you don't want a war between our packs, you will find it in you." He said with a smirk. Her eyes grew wide in disbelief. Would he actually threaten her pack and his own's safety just to be with her?
"Listen, you prick. Your father would have to approve the alliance to begin with - "
"He passed. I'm the new alpha." He stated, making her gut clench. He genuinely could cause a war between both packs if he really wanted to.
"Listen, Silviano, I am not interested in being your Luna. I will have my own pack to rule as the alpha and will do it with my mate. Putting your packs safety in danger for a wolf that won't love you shows your brother would have been a better alpha than you ever will be." She said before a loud slap echoed through the halls, her head jerked to the side from the action. She gently touched her now bruised cheek, blood slowly dripping from her mouth with wide eyes.
"Respect your future alpha. You're a woman, you belong bellow a man, not by or even above one." He said before he gripped her arm and chin tightly, making her wince a bit. He easily towered over her with his height.
"Hey! What the hell is going on here?" A voice echoed, causing Silviano to look it that direction.
"None of your business man, it's between me and my girl."
"Your girl? Yeah I don't think so, let Narcia go." The voice said, making her heart race and snap her out of her trance.
"Liam..?" She said as she looked behind herself, eyes trailing up to her mate's face, seeing the shock in his eyes as he saw her state.
"You bastard!" Liam said as he dropped his crutches and walked towards Silviano. He easily passed him by 3 or 4 inches in height. If both fought, it would be a mess, and she didn't know if Liam could win in his condition.
"Liam! Don't!" She said, moving in front of Silviano, making the wolf smirk.
"But... Look what he did to you..."
"Listen to the lady human, you heard her. You're not even a match for me, isn't that right, love?" The wolf said, causing Liam to glare as the veins on his forehead and in his neck throbbed.
"Shut up, Silviano! Liam... Please, you aren't in a state to fight." She said with pleading eyes. She didn't want to see her mate as hurt as she had before. She couldn't handle seeing that again. Liam clicked his tongue and took a step back, picking up his crutches before he stood straight, as if waiting for something.
"Come on, I am not leaving without you." He said, causing Silviano to grip her arm tighter.
"She ain't going anywhere with your worthless ass."
"Oh, she is."
"I don't think so."
"I swear Narcia, I am going to throw hands."
"ALRIGHT! BOTH OF YOU! Ugh... I need to go eat, let me go, Silviano, or do I need to grab that dick of yours and rip it off?"
"Ooh, feisty as ever. Fine love, but I will be back for you. Don't think it's over yet, both of you." Silviano said as he let go of her arm, making her let a breath out that she didn't know she was holding. The wolf walked off, leaving the two mates together, tension so thick it could be cut with a knife.
"Are you alright? He hit you pretty hard. We should take you to the nurse office." He said before she quickly rushed in his arms, tears threatening to fall. Silviano had always been abusive with her. It was the biggest reason she had dumped him to begin with, and this interaction had brought up past trauma she thought she had left behind. Liam simply hugged her back, trying to keep himself balanced on the crutches at the same time.
"It's over... You're okay." He said softly, sensing her trembling on his chest. She was glad he had come when he did. Who knows what would have happened if he hadn't shown up.
"Liam... You have to stay away from him. He's a very violent guy and has loads of experience in fighting. If you two clash, you'll lose." She said as she looked up into his eyes, being met with softness like only he could give her.
"You don't have much hope in me, huh?"
"It's not that... Liam, you are injured and want to fight an experienced guy. It doesn't sound like an easy win to me."
"Not impossible either."
"Liam... Please!"
"Oh? You're begging me now?" He teased, causing her to glare. She didn't like the tone he was taking with her.
"I'm not begging you. I am ordering you not to do it." She growled out, using her alpha tone on him. Hopefully, this would force him, but she wasn't sure if it would. He was human, after all. Liam frowned at her for a second, opening his mouth to comment, only to shut it back and rolled his eyes. She was shocked it worked. Maybe it was because of their mate link?
"Whatever. But you have to agree with my condition." Liam said with pure seriousness. She rolled her eyes and pulled away, crossing her arms.
"Fine, if that's what it takes to convince you." She said with disappointment. Clearly, her alpha tone had not worked since he wasn't fully obedient.
"You can't go anywhere alone, either me or that Tammy girl needs to be with you... Though I'd prefer if it was me. I'm capable of keeping him at bay." He said as her mouth nearly dropped. Was he already starting to care about her enough to want to spend all his time around her?
"What about classes?"
"I'll come pick you up from them."
"And the morning?"
"I'll meet you at the girl's dorm."
"You really won't drop this, huh?" She said as he shook his head, crossing his arms as well to show he was standing his ground.
"Alright, deal. You won't fight him, and I will stay around you constantly."
"Good, I guess I will get a better chance of getting to know the new you." He said with a bit of a smile, making her return the favor.
Perhaps having Silvano come after her wasn't such a horrible thing after all.
