Kian and Luna continued to savor their serene moment on the park bench for a few minutes until Landon, who was walking in their direction, caught their attention.
As he approached closer and observed Luna's head resting on Kian's shoulder, a glimmer of sadness and dismay appeared in his bright blue eyes.
"The level of your relationship hurts me, especially since we're the same age."
Kian was slightly taken aback by this, he didn't want to laugh at Landon yet he couldn't help but smile at his proclamation.
"It's alright Landon, I'm sure you'll find someone one day, or maybe not, you might be doomed."
To Kian, Landon was a pretty good-looking guy. He had a passive style which could become sharper when needed.
He was relatively fit from working in the fields and he was a pretty funny guy.
Kian had assumed he had a mistress or something along those lines but he was mistaken.
Instead of worrying about social affairs; Landon focused on his studies above all else.
He wasn't anti-social or anything like that, he just didn't put much effort into those matters.
Kian saw a little of himself in Landon, it's just their ambition and drive were different.
Kian had no clue why Landon devised so much of his time studying.
He seemed to be dead set on getting into this prestigious Silverwind academy even if it meant devoting all of his free time to it.
Kian didn't know the reason for it, maybe it was something as trivial as just wanting to go explore the world and become stronger, or it could be something else entirely.
Kian didn't want to probe too deeply into Landon's personal affairs, especially since he had secrets of his own that were far greater which he wasn't willing to share.
Maybe if their friendship advances a level something would change, but even if Landon had a great reason to go to this school Kian just couldn't understand something.
Landon dedicated all his efforts to studying, he didn't know what topics but it was all on the academic side.
In a magical school where they help develop one's mystic brand to hone you into a powerful mage wouldn't the main factor be physical work?
Well, it wasn't like Kian knew more than Landon about this topic so it probably was fine. Landon said he didn't want to be a fighter anyways.
Snapping out of his small daze Kian and Luna separated and got up from the bench.
They still had several bags of clothes which was a slight hassle to carry around.
"So where to now?"
Luna said towards Landon, prepared for the next adventure we set out on.
"Hmm, well honestly I don't know. I never really do much in the city so I guess we could just walk around till something catches our eye like before"
Kian nodded before they headed off, leaving the park area and arriving back on the main street.
He still had to figure out how to build up his information about this world.
Just seeing the city with his own eyes wasn't enough, because so far nothing was too far out of the ordinary.
And just as they passed a few stores, people, carriages, and many houses he saw the perfect opportunity.
"Hey, can we check that out?"
Kian suggested while pointing towards a larger building than the ones around.
In front of the entrance, it had large lettering titled "Public Library"
'What better way to get information than this'
After proposing this Landon's face lit up in disappointment.
"Ehhh a Library, Kian, what dull taste"
Kian knew it was weird that after saying all these things about how he wanted to visit Celestia City he'd spend his time in a library but it was just too good of a moment to pass up.
He could find out more about the kingdom's history, culture, the world itself, and even more about mystic brands and magic.
"I enjoy libraries, it's a fitting habit"
He replied calmly while turning to Luna, seeking her agreement. Though they seemed to already be on the same page because she was just beginning to speak.
"I also enjoy libraries, I've never seen one of this size before. They didn't have much in our hometown."
Luna chimed in, propelling their story's foundation even further.
"Well what a fitting couple I guess"
With Luna's support, Kian managed to convince Landon to accompany them to the library.
As they made their way inside, Kian couldn't help but feel that this was the perfect opportunity to delve deeper into the mysteries of their new world.
As he entered, Kian was enveloped by the familiar scent of fresh books, a vanilla-tinged aroma that brought back memories of his relentless studying in the past.
His keen eyes surveyed the shelves, lined with rows of books, in what appeared to be a typical library.
His goal was clear: he needed to acquire more knowledge about this world. He and Luna couldn't afford to stumble into situations blindly; they needed to be prepared.
"Kian, this is a good moment for me to go put these bags back in the carriage, carrying them around in a library isn't courteous"
Landon said in a low whisper.
This was a perfect set of events for Kian and Luna.
Turning towards Landon, Luna said in a low voice:
"I'll go with you, there are a good amount of bags and it wouldn't be admirable for us to dump them on you when you bought them for us."
Kian was glad that Luna understood the situation well.
They needed to read basic information to enlighten themselves about this world, and only one of them was needed for that.
Like Luna said it wouldn't be favorable to dump all of this on Landon especially when he bought the clothes for them.
And his earlier worries about Luna seemed to be unneeded.
She would be safer with Landon rather than him anyways, he had more knowledge about the city.
"Alright, Kian, we'll be back when we get finished."
"Very well, I'll stay here until you both are finished"
He replied calmly
With their whispered conversation concluded Kian handed the bags to Landon and watched them depart.
Now, he could finally focus on the real purpose of their visit to Celestia City.
After that Kian made his way deeper into the library, passing by a few people while doing so. He made sure to not look at them, drawing someone's attention wasn't desirable.
He had no desire to engage in conversation, he sought solitude to concentrate on his studies.
After browsing through the aisles, he carefully selected a few books that caught his interest. They ranged from modern society to the kingdom's history, and he also made sure to pick up some volumes on magic and mystic brands.
With a stack of books in his arms, Kian searched for a secluded spot and eventually found a quiet corner in the library.
After settling down and arranging the books, he stretched his body before deciding which one to read first.
As time was of the essence, Kian opted to start with the book titled "The Mythoria Kingdom and Its History."
The book appeared aged, with a creased and wrinkled cover, hinting at its antiquity.
Upon opening the first page, he was greeted with bold lettering that read "The Rise of the Mythoria Kingdom."
Kian decided that learning about the world in chronological order was the best way to do so.
He decided that understanding the past would provide him with the necessary foundation to comprehend the present.
His journey had just begun, and he was determined to make the most of this opportunity to expand his understanding of the world and prepare himself for the challenges that lay ahead.
He knew that this knowledge would be invaluable in navigating the unknown paths that awaited him and Luna.
