After skimming through the book, Kian found some interesting things about the origin of the Mythoria Kingdom.
It was said that several centuries ago the world was in utter dismay and chaos.
There were no large kingdoms, no rulers, and no law, and the strong thrived and dominated the weak.
Instead of kingdoms and cities, clans based on your bloodline existed, and they all sought absolute rule over the rest.
It was said that after you were born you'd be trained once you could speak or walk.
If you showed talent, whether that'd be with a sword, martial arts, or a mystic brand, you'd have a chance at a good life, after you've done your fair share of bloodshed that is.
If you were unlucky enough to be born untalented or with some condition that prohibited you from becoming a warrior you were tossed aside.
During this age of war, where you were judged by how many enemies you could kill, two people stepped up and steered the world back onto the course.
From the Azarule clan, there was a man named Boris. Boris was said to have an insanely high intellect and was a great leader.
From the Silverwind clan, there was a man named Magnus. Magnius was said to possess otherworldly magic, he is widely considered the strongest mystic in history.
These two were best friends, both were heads of their clans, and both wanted peace.
And in an era of darkness, they took the reins of the world and straightened them.
It was said that with Boris's mind and Magnius's strength they rose above all other lineages and eventually, after an unknown amount of years, they united the world.
After increasing their power and influence they created the Mythoria kingdom.
When they did this they decided that it would be better if it wasn't controlled through strength and fear.
So Boris became the first king in the nation's history, and the Azarule clan became the bloodline of nobility. They have kept the kingdom in great stride, even ruling to this day.
While on the other hand, Magnius was Boris's right-hand man and strongest warrior. This allowed the Silverwind clan to become the superpower it is today, the clan regularly produces tons of freakishly strong combatants throughout the generations.
'Hmm Silverwind… like Silverwind academy?'
Kian realized the influence this clan had on the kingdom, when he thought about it they were the co-creators so it made sense.
Other important clans rose with power over the years but the book mostly went into depth about these two.
After getting all the important information out of the first book Kian closed it before thinking for a moment.
The world was in ruin when two clans took over and made a strong nation, pretty simple, it's not like this didn't happen in the Kian's world throughout history.
Though it never said how the world had gotten to that terrible state, he didn't know if it was unknown or if it had been covered up.
After all, history is often told by the ones victorious.
Taking a few moments to catch up mentally, Kian picked up the next book, he didn't know when Landon and Luna were going to return so he needed to speed up.
This book looked more modern than the last, it looked more preserved, less worn down, and fresher.
This book was made relatively new as the title was "Modern day Mythoria".
Opening up the book Kian began to read.
And after taking a short while to gloss over the important parts of the book Kian felt more at ease.
The kingdom seemed to be a pretty nice place to live, showing that his experience with Landon's family wasn't something unique.
The current crowned king was named Virgil Azarule, he seemed to be doing a good job with the social and economic situation of the kingdom, as the book regularly showered him with praise.
Kian didn't know how far back the book was made, but it said that King Virgil had been in power for several decades and had children who will take the throne after he resigns.
It also wrote that the Silverwind family was still actively present and powerful in the modern day as well.
The contemporary head of the clan was a man named Maxus, like his late ancestor he is regarded as one of the strongest mystics alive.
And while Virgil ran the kingdom, Maxus was the current head principal of Silverwind Academy.
The book had written information on that topic as well.
When the kingdom was created, Magnius constructed a magic university called SilverwindAcademy.
It was built to make strong warriors to combat evil in case the world would ever turn back to its olden days.
The head of the Silverwind family would usually be the head of the school.
It's also said that the leader of the Silverwind clan possesses comparative power over the kingdom as the king.
With the Azarule family's political intellect and the Silverwinds family's power, they were able to hone the Mythoria Kingdom into the powerhouse it is today.
Kian also learned that there were neighboring kingdoms, but the book didn't touch much on it since it was about internal affairs.
Flipping through more pages Kian found out more about the cultural aspects of the kingdom.
From what he read the Mythoria kingdom was built upon a relatively fair and equal society.
Of course, it had nobility and powerful lineages but it was still a good place to live.
When Magnius and Boris founded the kingdom they created the emblem to show what the kingdom stood for, Kian had previously seen it on the outside walls and the banners scattered all around.
They made that logo to represent a balance of strength, magic, and mythology, capturing the essence of the kingdom's freedom and stability.
This was what the kingdom was built upon.
Looking at it like that Mythoria seems like an amazing place. Although every nation does have its shady parts.
The people who were born with power in the Mythoria kingdom, aside from the Azarule and Silverwind families, usually look down on the common folk.
Though this was a common troupe with kingdoms it still was unfavorable.
Another rotten part about the kingdom was the use of slaves, the Mythoria kingdom used a small number of slaves.
He figured something like that would exist in the medieval-styled kingdom but it was still sad to acknowledge.
But other than that the kingdom was run as any other society would.
There was a powerful currency, different jobs and businesses, a court system with respectable laws, and a right to an education.
Thinking on the line of education Kian suspected that he and Luna would probably be several times more advanced than anyone here.
They both had the equivalent of a college education and were extremely knowledgeable.
It would probably be best to not show their freakish intelligence, though it could come in handy sooner or later. He didn't want to attract much attention to them as of now.
So with that, Kian closed the fresh book and set it aside.
He stretched his body a bit while compiling his thoughts.
His previous worries about a vial kingdom were washed away.
It wasn't run by some crazy dictator or anything like that it seemed like they cared about the average citizen.
Feeling more at ease, Kian picked up the last book he hadn't read.
This book seemed much, much older than the two previous ones.
It had a dusty cover that was made out of fine thick leather.
It also had an ominous feeling to it. Kian couldn't explain it but holding it just made him feel slightly uneasy.
Though this just made it more exciting for him.
The pages were tinged in a light brown color, signifying its antiquity.
This was possibly the most important book and the one that made Kian most enthusiastic.
The book's title was "The ancient fundamentals of the Mystic Brand"
Finally; Kian could learn about the most interesting thing this world had to offer.
He couldn't hold himself back as he quickly started to delve into the book.
He was happy to finally understand magic but he still couldn't shake the weird ominous feeling he had.
Brushing that aside he started to study the information more in-depth.
Spending several minutes caught up in the book Kian couldn't help but appreciate the complex system this world had.
If what he was reading was true, he and Luna were in for a crazy adventure in these mysterious lands.
Though as he was absorbing more information his right eye started to slightly tingle, which quickly developed into a small burning sensation.
"what the…"
He said in a low straining voice while cupping his eye in his hand, and after a few moments, the sensation slowly faded away.
He had no clue what just happened, maybe it was all the information he took in?
Though this had never happened before he didn't feel like he was in any danger.
So after taking a slight breather he opened up the book and finished it.
The feeling didn't come back, and honestly, he was too caught up in the intriguing info to worry about it.
So after finally finishing the book he set it to the side and started to accumulate his thoughts.
