Chapter 1 - Another One

"Seriously Jane, we have to move again?."

"Yes Harry, we have to move since you decided to almost cripple that poor boy back in Augusta." my mom Jane said, she held the wheels and she was always kinda strict on us or maybe just me.

"Yeah, thanks alot Harry... For making us move from Augusta where I was actually having a life for the first time since kindergarten." my twin sister, Nandy said, she was older than me with five minutes and she would never waste time to rub it in my face.

"Ok, you can't blame me the fact that you've been a loser from grade school till last year when we arrived in Augusta, so..." she made to punch me and I retaliated, I hated the fact that since forever she was the only freak that decided not to be intimidated by me.

Back in Augusta, whenever I would pick on a kid, she was always there to be their hero and she was loved while everyone hated me to bits. It got to a point it was beginning to suck, and towards that period I angrily almost crippled a boy.

We were still fidgeting in the car when our mom, Debra came to the rescue. Yup, we've got two moms.

"Ok guys, if you keep fighting, I won't be able to cook my amazing secret recipe bean omelettes cos I won't be happy." Debra said, I looked through the rare view mirror and saw she was genuinely sad. Jane yanked the horns.

"C'mon!!!." she said, "if I hear a pip from the back I'm gonna... I'm gonna... I'm gonna..."

Debra touched her shoulder gently, "Babe, chill out." Jane gasped for breathe like someone outta a body bag, Debra had a weird way of calming out our angers... Her special secret recipe bean omelettes. It always got to us, even Jane. "Harry, you should be..." oh no, she was about to say the words that annoyed me the most annoying thing in the world, it annoyed me more than being called a bully, "more like your sister, good grades, pretty, and more." I looked at Nandy and saw she had her usual smile whenever Jane made statements like this.

"Ok, let's just stop guys, look, we're almost at our destination." Debra said as we saw the big sign that read.

GOODBYE FROM COLUMBUS, GEORGIA... The Peach State.

WELCOME TO PADDIVILLE, ROCKBAYY

... The Apple Valley State.

"So we're crashing out in Paddiville?." Nandy asked.

... A few miles later.

"Nope!, Breecherville."

"C'mon Jane, Debra talk to Jane."

"No sweety, your mom and I has already made our decision." Debra said with her usual smile that found a way into our hearts. But this time, Nandy wasn't kidding.

"No Brooklyn, no L.A., no NYC, or Atlanta or even still, Paddiville, it's quiet old, boring Breecherville, C'mon!." Nandy protested. "Not like you don't have the money, we both know you do."

"C'mon what's the difference between Breecherville and all those towns and cities you had mentioned?, you're still new to all of them, besides, the peace and calm may rub off on you and Harry, don't you think so?." Jane asked her, she further shook her head in disgust. "Too much of tinseltown magic in your brain, you can't tell fantasy from real life.

"Well, I just mentioned places I know that I will have higher chances of making cool friends, yeah, I'm specific about the cool friends. I do have my social life to think about"

"But you were popular in our previous schools."

"That's the point lil bro."

"No, the point is you have what it takes to be cool anywhere, it's all in here." I said touching the left side of my chest.

"My boobs?."

"Your heart you cactus for brains, how are you any smarter than me in school?."

"Cos I study lil bro and you... bully." I looked at Debra through the mirror and her eyes told me to chill out, so I did.

"Hope it can be just bro or Harry from now on, especially at school." I said with an appealing tone.

"And I hope we can all stay in Breecherville and in the same school till the end, Amen."

Everyone chorused an Amen, I know the prayer was to tease me, at least I can count on Debra's genuinity.

Soon we got to a milk colored duplex amidst a row of houses, we got down and we got out our various luggages from the trunk of our minivan and we followed Debra who got out the keys and opened the door, when we got inside, we realized the interior was splendid.

"Whoa!!!." My sister and I said with a gasp.

"Ok guys, there are six bedrooms in this house and each of us got a bathroom and toilet inside, so the point is there are three rooms in the right, two in the left and one after the upper door to the basement, that one is the guest room, the two got your favorite colors so I guess you know. The three are for your mom and I, the last one is for us both together, so... any questions?, nope?, so we're cool. " Jane said. As she made to go up the stairway that led to their rooms, Debra said, "Babe, you really put effort into this house why?." Jane turned and with a smile said softly, "I believe in my darling son and the fact we won't have to ever move again." as she said that, she moved upstairs and Debra smiled following her with her hands wrapped around her waist, then I heard something I hadn't heard in two months, Jane's laughter. Debra really knew her girl.

I smiled too because I was joyed my mom that had a problem with me since forever was finally cool with me. Not to forget she was a Libra and Libras had a way with words and didn't always mean what they said but who cared?, mom was finally having faith in me and I wasn't gonna mess that up... Even though I know she's trying to use the reverse psychology on me.

"I hope you won't mess this one up, bro." Nandy said to me and I shook my head and gave her a tight hug and surprisingly she hugged me back. We soon took our luggages to our rooms. It was quite adjacent to each other and having opened our doors at almost the same time, Nandy screamed for joy and I shrieked. "This ain't my best color, I don't even like sky blue that much. "

"I love white.".

"Sure rub your luck in my face sis."

"Whoa, sorry bro, but remember you used to love sky blue back in the days."

"Yeah, I guess you're right, red won't match with milk color like sky blue would any ways."

"Cool you're finally getting the hang of it bro." She got in and jammed her door and I did same. The last I could remember was knowing the time was three twenty two pm on my wrist watch.

I was awakened by the door bell which was surprisingly loud or maybe I wasn't sleeping deeply.

I came down and went outside, Nandy was already there and called out to every one that we had visitors.

"An extremely large amount of female visitors." she said and soon we were all down and the ladies got in. After we all exchanged pleasantries, Nandy left and I stuck around the dinning room which was directly behind the sitting room, I got out cereals to eat but it was actually an excuse to find out what the ladies were gonna be talking about.

"What?, I'm bored ok?, my phone's down and TV's boring now a days." I sat down as the ladies began with their talk.

"So, welcome, Debra and Jane to Breecherville, Rockbayy and I hope you're here to stay." The tall, tough looking lady that looked my moms' ages and also looked like the women's leader said.

"Yup, and I know I've said this a lot to a lot of people but this time I mean it." Jane said, as she said that, she turned and stared at me with a thin smile that made the cereal I was eating stop mid way through my mouth. "Isn't that right Harry dear?."

"Ye, yes mum." I replied with a nervous smile. Initially, I had wanted to stick around but right now, nope!. As I left I heard something that caught both my ear and my heart.

"I like his dedication to food." No not the part that defined me as a glutton, this part, "Kinda reminds me of my daughter quite about his age."

I turned to see the woman that made the statement, sure it had to be, Mrs. Sassy Pants, you know, the sassy lady that led them all. I've always heard this phrase from where I come from, "Like mother like daughter." I hope it ain't so in this aspect.

I hastened my pace, once I spent a good number of time with my sister in her room, that moment we had to share cos my room was infested with bugs, it was cool till she just had to have a sleepover and I had to pretend I didn't hear all they had to say about boys and teachers and other girls, cats and what not, they acted like I wasn't there or there wasn't a possibility I could be awake, "ewh, boys are so gross, when I got into the boys bathroom once ... Oh, the misery!!!. I pulled at my hair to the thought.

So imagine worst still... Oldies, I continued to pull at my hair to the miseries, cheek pulling, hair shuffling, weird compliments about when you were a baby and your parents pretending to laugh like it's funny... What if they're genuinely funny and your parents laughing the fuck outta you...?." I ain't gonna lie, it was kinda fun in my sister's room and I actually began to understand ladies a little better.

I jammed my door and sat down to my bowl for cereals on the table with a chair overlooking the window. I wasn't done with cereals just yet.

The window really had a view of the whole street and the next, the city was bright and every body seemed to be really about their business. I was quite enjoying the view of the moment while making cereals when God decided to throw an angel down from the heavens. I saw a dark skinned girl walk out her front door, she was staying at the house four blocks away from ours, she was walking her dog, a white poodle and her eyes seemed to go every where and any where till they met mine sitting at the open window. She smiled at me and I waved back, well, I could see her smile. she continued her walk and I had to stand there to catch a better glimpse, she had everything... I felt a touch on my shoulder and I turned and it was Nandy, I realized my door had been open since, she took one look at the girl that disappeared to the next block almost immediately and said.

"Yup, you're crazy, crushing on the first day on a random neighbor, world, I have a crazy brother."

I scoffed almost immediately, "I'm not crushing on her, I'm just enjoying the cool breeze, you know... Feeling the cool vibes, you know what I'm saying?."

"Nope, I don't know what you're saying, and so you know, this' summer, you're sweating worst than aunt Esther after a late rise in the morning, plus, I've never seen you crushing on anyone, you rather crush the person literally and I've never seen you in a relationship so I assume you're really crushing on that bitch, well, when you're finally ready to ask her out, don't appear like someone that's never been in a relationship. Which is kinda the truth..."

"Wait, why am I taking relationship advices from someone that got dumped in her seven past relationships?."

"Well bro, even when I got dumped."

"Seven times." I chipped in.

"I still have much more experience than you and that gives me the upper hand, besides, coaches don't play." I sighed in annoyance. "Well, for the actual reason I'm here Harry, mom wants to have a word with us."

"I'll be down in a snap." Nandy literally snapped her fingers and I looked at her for a while, we had a good laugh and she left.

Soon, I was finally down stairs. "It was about time." Jane said and I rolled my eyes. When I sat down next to Nandy who was sitting way close to Jane, her hands in hers. Debra announced, "We're having a house warming party on Saturday."

Nandy was already joyed but found new ways to exhibit it by hugging Jane way too tightly and stuff but I had other ideas, "So we kids are gonna hang out with your boring old friends, is that your point?."

"No silly," Jane said, "they've got kids your age too so we're gonna divide the house, we 'oldies'," Debra said making air quotes to accompany the "oldies", "are gonna have one block while you guys, the kids take another."

"And here's a rule, kids that their parents are not in this house that day are not invited, ok?." Jane said that and looked at me.

"What?." I ask in my defense. No matter what matters, amma still break the damn rule so fuck it.

"Because we know you and your capabilities." Debra said. I gave a rather fake smile eventually giving up.

"So are we clear guys?." Jane asked like the head of the family she presumed she was... which of course she was because I don't have another house to go to if I dared challenge her authority in her face.

"Yeah mom." Nandy responded. Jane cleared her throat at me and I sighed.

"You answer me right now or you're grounded young man." I snubbed her, grounding got me no more, I've got my ways. Nandy tried to reason with me as always but now a days, I didn't seem to know who was true. I couldn't wait for freakin school tomorrow, maybe high school could get my life in together, after all, it was the most important round in the educational cycle, I got into my room and jammed the door, locking it with the key. I put my head phones on and soon dosed off to the song I always played whenever I felt this way, Tion Wayne, Davido and Jae5's Who's True.
