Chapter 2 - Escaping The Castle

"Let me go, please!" She begged but none of them listened to her pleas.

Suddenly, a bullet was shot towards their direction and one of the vampires holding her collapsed on the floor with blood spewing from his mouth. The bullet was shot again and another one died.

"Let go of my daughter. Now!" The king of Gestia shouted and Nova felt a little calm.

"Father." She whispered to herself.

"Fuck!" One of the vampire warriors cursed. "Do not let her escape. I will take care of the old man."

Nova felt like her soul left her body and she trembled at the thought of the vampires killing her father.

"No, please spare him! Kill me instead!" She did not want anything to happen to her father. She would not be able to live with herself if her father was to die because he wanted to save her life.

"Shut up!" She saw as the vampire left from behind her and approached her father who was standing not too far away from them with the gun held firmly in his hand.

"Listen here, your majesty," The vampire started with heavy mockery in his tone. "I promise to give you a quick painless death if you do not get in our way."

"Let. My. Daughter. Go." The king responded with a threat. He would rather die than let these disgusting creatures take his daughter freely.

"Suit yourself." The vampire smirked as his hands reached out towards the king's neck. The king quickly shot the vampire on his leg and he fell on the floor screaming and gritting his teeth in pain.

The vampire who was still holding her pushed her causing her to fall down. He approached the king but before he could get to him, the king shot him in the head leading to his immediate death.

"Run now, Nova!" The king said to his daughter who had already gotten up on her feet and was approaching him.

"But father, what about you and mother?" She asked.

"Your mother is already dead and I cannot lose you as well. The vampires has already been alerted by the sounds here and are possibly on their way. Leave now."

She nodded as she ran towards the gate. She didn't want to leave her father behind but she would only be a burden. She could only hope that her father would survive this.

"Please survive this father." She prayed silently wanting nothing bad to happen to her father.
