After the woman who had tended to her wounds left the room, a maid came in almost immediately and helped her take a bath before changing into a silk night dress.
She felt refreshed, now all she wanted to do was to eat and rest for the night. She left the room on a quest to look for the kitchen so she could fill her stomach, when a man with a stoic expression approached her. His long grey hair which was tied in a low ponytail swayed from side to side with every step he took.
"Milady, His Highness has requested you join him for dinner."
Nova nodded, "Lead the way." She said to the butler and followed as he led her to the grand dining hall which was located at the third floor of the palace.
There at the end of the table sat the vampire King who was intently looking at her and Nova felt a wave of nervousness wash over her. She looked behind her to see that the butler had already left. Focusing her attention on him, she went on to sit on a chair five seats away from him. Nova felt a bit relieved when the King did not make her sit close to him.
"Relax, darling. I have no plans of eating you... yet." His smooth yet powerful voice reverberated in the dining hall.
Yet? So he was going to eat her? But she didn't know vampires were fond of eating human flesh. Her eyes flew wide and looked at him and only then did she notice his eyes was no longer that deep shade of red but instead it was blue; the kind of blue that was dark like the ocean in which one could get lost in.
"If you stare for too long, you will end up falling in love." His voice broke her from her daze.
Nova felt her cheeks heat up as she looked away from him and started to eat the food from the plate infront of her. She looked up from her plate, taking a glass of water and drinking it while she stole secretive glances at the King who was only eating meat neglecting the vegetables. Nova wondered why. Was he by any chance allergic to it?
She kept the glass on the table and dabbed her mouth with the napkin, placing her hands on her laps as she was done eating. She saw him pick up a cup and stirred the contents of it.
Looking at Nova he asked, "Tea?" to which she shook her head to as a no from her. Only God knew what was inside it. Blood? Poison? She did not care but she was not going to risk her life by blindly taking and drinking the tea offered to her.
"Thank you, Your Highness, but I do not want tea right now." He shrugged his shoulders at her response and proceeded to drink the tea in the cup.
