"I see you are finally awake, human." His deep yet smooth voice resounded in her ears. She felt her throat go dry at the way he was looking at her — like a predator who was eyeing its prey.
"Uh... I- I'll get d- down now. So you c- can tell the coachman to stop t- the carriage." She stuttered and clenched her fists tightly till it turned white.
"And why would I do that?" He leaned in a little closer; so close that their faces was only a breath away from each other.
"I- I, I just think that you h- helped me enough. I would not want to burden you."
"But if I do what you want, how will you repay my kindness?"
"I do not have any money." She whispered lowering her gaze.
"Do I look like I am in need of money?" He asked to which she quickly shook her head. Nova could tell that he was not someone to mess with.
"If you are to leave this carriage, I will take you back to your kingdom..., princess."
Her eyes almost popped out of their sockets. He knew?! But how!?!
"How d- do you know?" She simply could not believe that he knew who she was all this time.
"I am sure you can figure out the answer to your question. You are not that dense, are you?"
Again, Nova shook her head. But how could he have possibly known about her? And if he knew she was the princess of Gestia Kingdom which was also a Kingdom for the human habitants, then why did he help her if he was a vampire? Wait... How was he even able to ride past Gestia without troubles. It was only possible if he held a high position in the vampire kingdom.
"Are you the Duke of Alexandria?" She asked carefully.
"Think higher, princess." A smirk coming to form on his lips.
Higher? What could he be if not the Duke of the vampires. She had never heard of Alexandria having a prince, unless...
"A- Are you t- the K- King?" She stuttered hoping that she was wrong again, but fate had a way of playing with her.
"Bingo." He grinned as he eased back flashing his elongated fangs to her. Seeing the huge grin on his face caused a cold shiver to run down her spine.
She was doomed!!
