Torma..
I stared at the dark tree backs before me, I could have sworn he was standing there.
'You don't have to hide from me!' I yelled into the dark.
I was shocked when I heard leaves crunching and hasty footsteps towards me, I hid behind a tree when I heard the person speak.
'What is wrong with you?' Levi scolded pulling me from behind the tree. I looked at him in confusion.
'Why are you here?' I asked him. He creased his brows.
'Who is he? I saw him earlier!' I moved to him.
'I am taking you home!' Levi threw me over his shoulder. I kicked my legs until he put me down.
'Will you stop being difficult!'
'Well if you hadn't noticed that I have legs and I can walk to the car!' I said pointedly.
'Well those same legs brought you here! He gestured around the woods.
'And I was happy!' I rolled. 'Besides the guy was hot!'
He groaned. 'Let's go!' He attempted to grab my arm but moved away from him.
'Whatever! Just move!'
I stormed past his friend who looked amused.
I walked a little further from them and heard them talking.
'You two got sooome chemistry!' His friends laughed.
'Eww no!' Levi pinched his nose bridge.
'Seriously I remember you and Danielle fighting that way before you were friends..and then you had a..' He cleared his throat. '..thing for her!'
'You forget that I am not my mother!' I interrupted. 'I make my boundaries clear!'
Forget the Matthew scenario.
'Yeah..you clearly are not your mother!' Levi said pointedly. 'You just happened to happen!'
I held my breath preparing for what I'd say next when I heard another voice.
'You guys really shouldn't be here!' I turned and saw Avian, for some reason my heart beat fastened.
I gulped catching his eyes on me before he looked at Levi.
'What are you doing here Avian!' Levi stepped close to him.
'She is in danger!' He gestured to me. Levi beamed.
'Big discovery Einstein..we clearly didn't know!' He sarcastically hit his head. I rolled my eyes, he was a dumb-ass.
Avian bit his lip embarrassedly. I stepped in. 'Shut up dad! I am listening Avian!' I hugged myself, it was getting cold to admit.
He looked at me and took off his coat. Placing it around me, he stepped back and crossed his arms over his chest. 'Thanks!' I beamed.
He hummed and looked at Levi. 'A word in private!' He gestured for him to follow him.
Levi walked after him blocking my view of Avian's mascular back. I bit my lip in frustration.
'You've got something kid!' Levi's friend interrupted my moment. I looked at him and noticed how young for their ages they all looked.
'How old are you?' I asked confidently.
'Old enough to be your father!' He assured me. I hummed in thought.
'You all look odd for your ages_' I mumbled and he chuckled.
'Samuelle!' Avian voice sent a shiver down my spine. I almost tripped at the impact on my knees.
I hummed in response and walked to them.
'How many physical attacks have you had with the vines?' He asked seriously.
I counted mentally. 'Three!' I answered honestly.
'What?' Levi interrupted. 'When was the third and why didn't you tell me?'
I glared at him before ignoring him. 'There was a man in the house today too..but he just said something and walked off!' I shrugged. Levi was quiet.
Chris interrupted looking scared. 'Samuelle?' I hummed in response. 'Do you remember the words?'
I shrugged. 'I don't know..but it was something like wheatrr_'
'Œtre œ Œtre?' Chris said it and I nodded.
They all shared a silent conversation before nodding.
'Samuelle you have to go with Levi!' Avian informed me. I nodded. 'He will take you to Lexve!'
'To what?' I asked in confusion.
'To my home!' Levi explained. I looked at him in disgust.
'I am not going anywhere with him!' I walked to Avian whispering the last part. 'He is not the type I trust!'
'He can keep you safe!' Avian explained.
'Any of you can!' I stepped further from them.
'The tree has no influence in Lexve!' Chris stepped in. I shook my head.
'Your mom would agree with me!' Levi spoke.
'Of course she would but I won't be dancing to her tones now that I am of age!' I said pointedly.
Avian rolled his eyes. 'Stop being difficult child!' He said frustratedly.
I hated the fact that he referred to me as child. I meant I clearly had no chance with him.
'We are willing to help you so suck it up!' Avian looked at me like I was wasting their time.
I sighed. 'Thank you for all the help you have given me!' I took off his coat and handed it to him. 'I really do appreciate it but..I also don't remember calling any of you..in that case I can handle myself!'
'If we weren't here you'd be dead.. Remember Avian saved you from the tree in the first place?' Levi spoke.
I laughed. 'If you weren't here? If you weren't here I'd pretty much be alive and fine! I was only where Avian found me because of you!' I said to Levi.
He kept quiet immediately. One day after I moved to this place, they all showed up one by one. And ever since then my days get weirder!
'I am grateful for the fact that you're trying to help me but I can't help but feel that you are doing it for a reason!' I adjusted my skirt. I shouldn't have worn it especially during this weather.
'I would appreciate it if you all just returned to your usual lives and pretend we never met..Levi if you are going to keep visiting my mom I request you invite her instead!' I respectfully looked at them.
Avian attempted to talk but I stopped him. 'If that tree taking me will save you all this trouble then..so be it!'
Avian laughed forcefully. 'Do you think this is about you child?' He stepped up to me.
I looked at him from below. He was tall but it wasn't hot at the moment, it was scary. More of threatening or warning. 'Should I remind you of your place child?' He again laughed forcefully.
'You have no say in this..go home and pack. Levi is taking you to Lexve!'
