Chapter 13 - First Day At Caromine Institute

A new dawn pronounced itself within Raixom Academy which commenced the ritual of Dam Son's learning adventure. It hadn't been long since his created existence, but he had learned a lot being in Vocabular. Due to his Avatar being a Dark-Human, he didn't need to sleep much. Thus Dam Son spent most of his time practising how to conjure Natural Verb Force until daylight.

Papyrus who was lying on a pressing board while having its seams straightened by a floating iron, got tired of watching Dam Son's failure. "You've been practising that Verb Force thingy for 6-hours and 25-minutes now. Still, I don't see anything manifesting. Just stop already, that swindling geezer obviously taught you a dud technique. I mean, even I haven't heard of Natural Verb Force before and I've been around longer than most people."

"No, it is not a dud." Dam Son refused to listen to Papyrus. He continued to rouse the opening of his inner Creative Word Compilation. "I did it once before. Was it because the geezer was guiding me at that time? I should go visit him again when I have the time."

"How stubborn you are? Your first session will be starting soon, so pause what you are doing for now and prepare to get doing."

"Ahm, do I have to shower again?" Dam Son wanted to make sure that his hygiene was properly up to par.

Papyrus smelled if Dam Son needed to take another wash before heading out to class. "No, you're still fresh which is rather weird considering how hard you've been practising. It must be your Dark-Human constitution."

"You think so? Well whatever, let's get going." Dam Son donned his fresh apparel, reached for his sapphire suitcase which was leaning against the bed then exited the Tower of Residence.

At Caromine Institute, a lot of new students were pouring through the front gate. None of them wanted to miss their first day of class. It wasn't a compulsory effort for students to visit the institute every day. They had the option to learn at their own pace or from whomever they wanted. However, they had to make sure they showed promising results on the occasional exams which consisted of both written and practical aspects. Otherwise, they would be stripped of their achievements and tossed out of Raixom Academy.

"Everyone, you can settle wherever you feel comfortable." Ms Enjoy, General Lesson's teacher of Class-C directed the new students into an expansive classroom. "My lesson will be extremely long on the first day. So don't worry too much about leaving here clueless. Go on inside and have a seat."

Approximately 49 students came into the classroom and sat at their desired desks. Dam Son was the last person to enter (Reaching the 50th student) after everyone had already settled their bottoms.

"I'm not too late am I? Good morning to you all." Dam Son greeted the entire class, however, only Ms Enjoy responded to his kind felicitation. "I thought everyone was supposed to greet me back. Isn't that what you told me, Papyrus?" He eyed his Guide strangely.

"Forget about it and go sit down. You're starting to look ridiculous."

"Am I?" Dam Son scooted through the row of students who were constantly staring at him weirdly until he located an empty seat in the middle. Surprisingly, the person he sat beside was the emerald Demi-Human who loathed him the most. "Huh?" Dam Son gave his eyes abreast him. "Hey, aren't you that Applicant-600 from the admission matches, Cinder Burn was it? It's nice to officially meet you. Hehe."

Dam Son extended his hand towards Cinder Burn in a form of greeting, however, she cut eyes at him after slapping away his hand. "Get your filthy hand out of my face, cur."

"Huh, what's with that attitude?" Dam Son began to get peeved at his Papyrus again for teaching him useless pleasantries. "Hey, Papyrus those customs you taught me only make others feel uncomfortable. Are you purposely trying to embarrass me?"

"How could I, master." Papyrus clarified gently. "I genuinely thought that being respectable would make people warm up to you. I wasn't aware that common courtesy is an abomination among the young nowadays. I should update my array of knowledge."

The students were chattering. Ms Enjoy had to clap her hands to get their attention.

"Settle down class." Ms Enjoy waited until everyone became quiet before commencing her lesson. "Good, let's get straight into it then. First, I will inform you all about the basic procedure of script manipulation, moreover, how to create your personal Library."

Ms Enjoy placed a tiny script onto the clear whiteboard behind her. It expanded into a vast diagram depicting certain symbols and arrays. For the students who were further back in the class, they didn't have to worry about not seeing the board clearly. Each of their desks had transparent screens installed which reflected what was showing on the main board ahead.

"What's this?" Dam Son perused the content of the desk's screen before him. He had no clue what it was nor how to use it.

Ms Enjoy began her lessons. "This Idle script that I've just brought up on your desk's screens is known as the Proper Process of Activation. How many of you were aware that whenever you activate a Powered Script without the proper protocol of execution it causes a small amount of damage to your Letters of Existence? Damage that could potentially lead to permanent disability over an accumulated period?"

By the strange expression on their faces coupled with the way how they were mumbling to each other, told Ms Enjoy that her students were clueless about what she had just talked about.

"All of you seem in disbelief, but it is true. Take a look at this image." Ms Enjoy tapped a Graph Switch on the enlarged script window which brought up photos of several severely ill people who were drooling bloodshot letters from their pores.

"These patients are suffering from what we call, Compulsive Letter Depletion Syndrome (CLDS). Do you see the continuous letter leakage coming from their pores? These are critical symptoms caused by the neglect of proper script activation. It is most common in Word Fu Masters due to them usually assimilating with Powered Scripts on a physiological level. The other masteries shouldn't neglect the proper procedure either, otherwise, you might end up looking like these defects of Vocabular."

Ms Enjoy shrunk the explicit imagery to the side of her screen. "I would hate to see my students going through Compulsive Letter Depletion Syndrome which is why the first thing I will teach you is the Proper Process of Activation. It varies according to your mastery level. For the most part, I will make you all knowledgeable of the basics."

For the next 2 hours of her class, Ms Enjoy taught her students the proper process of tracing Basic Powered Scripts prior to their activation. She gave each of them an intricate glove that would aid them in tracing the contours of Powered Scripts more accurately.

Whenever a Powered Script hadn't been traced according to the user's Creative Word Compilation, they were classified as Raw Scripts. These types of Untraced Scripts were what mostly caused Compulsive Letter Depletion Syndrome (CLDS). On the other hand, Traced Scripts were classified as Compatible Scripts. In short, COM Scripts. This explained why Dam Son suffered an injurious backlash the first time he assimilated with Powered Scripts, for he didn't complete the Proper Process of Activation.

Realizing that most of her students had adapted well to her lessons, Ms Enjoy told the class that they could continue working on tracing scripts later. Seeing that there wasn't much time remaining, Ms Enjoy commenced her next lesson of the day, Library Creation.
