At the Tower of Residence, Dam Son was inside his room sitting on the veneer floor while chugging down a large bottle of water. Many more water bottles of similar sizes surrounded his thirsty complex.
Unlike regular Humans and Demi-Humans, Dam Son mostly depended on water to sustain his created Avatar. He didn't need any solid substance to keep him going. Water was the only source of vitality for him.
After chugging down 7 more bottles of water, Dam Son burped and wiped the spittle from his moist lips. "Ahh, that was refreshing."
"How can your flat stomach absorb all of that water?" Papyrus asked with its folds contorted.
"I'm not sure myself, but I love water for some reason." Dam Son turned the multiple bottles of water back into common Noun Scripts before standing up. He crushed the useless papers then tossed them into a Script Disposal Unit by the entrance. Finished tidying up the place, Dam Son motioned his legs towards the window so that he could look outside. "The morning is gradually approaching. A new day of lessons will soon begin. I can't wait."
"So eager to learn yet so dumb," Papyrus mumbled in a low voice.
"Hm? Did you say something just now, Papyrus?" Dam Son glanced back at his Guide curiously.
"No, nothing." Papyrus lied. "Why don't you get some rest before the day comes out fully? I'll help prep the bed for you."
"What's the point? I won't fall asleep anyway."
"Still, don't your body require any rest? I haven't seen you sleep once since I became your Guide." Papyrus was still clueless about Dam Son's true nature. Hence he asked this question.
Dam Son replied, "I don't need to sleep to rest. I don't know about other people, but I hardly ever feel tired. I will take a bath though." Saying this, Dam Son stripped off his clothes, moreover, tossed them onto the floor before entering the bathhouse with his sapphire suitcase. Papyrus was on its way inside the bath when it noticed a cylindrical object slipped out of Dam Son's garments.
"Huh, it's that dark coin from earlier. It rolled underneath the sofa. Of all the places it could have rolled to, did it have to be there? I'll inform Dam Son of this or I could retrieve it myself. Folding smaller to fit shouldn't be that painful." Papyrus decided not to bother Dam Son's Avatar cleansing. It hovered closer to the sofa, rolled itself up into a scroll then crawled underneath.
"Almost there… got it!" Papyrus scooped up the dark coin into its folded papers. Maintaining that posture, it rolled from underneath the sofa. "Yes, I brought it out. This wasn't so hard. I will have to iron out these seams later though. Huh?"
Whilst the dark coin was still intact with its sheet, Papyrus noticed a peculiarity taking place. The dark coin started drilling into its brown folds, furthermore, it was generating dark energies that gradually dyed the entirety of Papyrus into a blackened state. Due to this drastic evolution, the scripts embedded into Papyrus had to change to a lighter colour.
"What is this dark presence that has come over me?"
"AHHHH!" All of a sudden, Papyrus heard Dam Son's resounding lamentation. It hurriedly dashed itself into the bathhouse.
"Newborn! Newborn! What happened?" Bursting into the bathroom, Papyrus discovered a naked Dam Son hollering out in pain. His lower half was still submerged underwater, bulging veins popped all over his robust body as a bizarre ornament was forcing its way out of his skull. It was a variety of dark coins (5 to be precise) similar to the one Dam Son had picked up in the street. They assimilated into a singular horn on his forehead.
"That bizarre horn's appearance, could it be because of what that mysterious coin did to me?" Papyrus surmised correctly. Both Master and Guide were undergoing a drastic evolution due to the unknown coin they had interacted with.
"AAAAAHHHH!" Dam Son continued to suffer tremendous agony. Eventually, his Dark-Human Avatar exploded to cinders. This shocked Papyrus to its core. What came out of Dam Son's shattered Avatar was his true nature. A long broad sword possessing the density of the strongest iron was hovering over the bath along with the sapphire suitcase. What kept these 2 indestructible objects inextricably linked was a glowing gemstone, the core of Dam Son's consciousness. The 5 dark coins that manifested into a horn earlier were still present over the bath. They sequentially attached themselves to the broad sword.
"Is this the newborn's true form?" Papyrus was taken aback by the proceedings happening before its very pages. Seconds passed and the glowing gemstone started pulling in Papyrus. It got swallowed whole.
Papyrus found itself in a vast sea of letters. Many fragmented memories were floating all around that mysterious oceanic realm. "What is this place? Where is the newborn?" Papyrus wandered around the peculiar existence, in search of Dam Son.
Ultimately, it discovered a flourishing tree in the distance, growing out of an island of numbers. The tree's composite was mystically formed of arcane striations. It was bearing several book fruits. "That tree is giving off an empowering vibe."
Papyrus ventured closer to the alluring tree. As it hovered the numerical isle, its dark leaves started separating. Those separated pages oscillated at the base of the arcane tree until a golden page descended from one of the book fruit above and mixed with its tainted pages.
Papyrus was overwhelmed by an inexplicable phenomenon. As it was about to analyse the tree further, the waves surrounding the numerical isle became rough, causing them to splash onto the isle which gobbled up Papyrus whole.
In a flash, Papyrus was back inside the Tower of Residence's bathhouse. "What was that bizarre occurrence just now? Huh?" Papyrus searched its beady vision centre across the room, it identified Dam Son lying atop his sapphire suitcase. He was in his Dark-Human Avatar again.
"Hey, newborn. Get up." Papyrus flapped its pages across Dam Son's face.
"Erm…" Dam Son's consciousness slowly spurred awake. "Huh, w-what happened to me?" He got up overlooking his body. When he glanced at his Guide, Dam Son received great bewilderment. "Papyrus! When did you get so dark?"
Dam Son grabbed Papyrus in his startled grasp, moreover, he began turning its pages, seeing if every page had become black. As he continued inspecting Papyrus's leafy innards, Dam Son discovered a golden page that stood out among the rest. "What is this…?"
The moment Dam Son glanced upon the golden sheet, the Wisdom Stone infixed in his forehead radiated with a blinding brilliance. It shined upon the golden sheet as if deciphering its context. Dam Son fell into a deep trance along with his Papyrus. He began seeing fragmented sceneries of somebody's past.
...
At Caromine Institute, during Ms Enjoy's follow up lesson on Library Creation, Cinder Burn looked at Dam Son's empty desk. "That idiot hasn't shown up yet. Did he oversleep?" Cinder Burn withdrew her gaze from Dam Son's desk, giving her attention back to the teacher.
"Alright everyone, we will continue from where we left off last time." Ms Enjoy guided her students who had not finished creating their Library yet. She realized that Dam Son's seat was empty and gave Cinder Burn an enquiring gaze.
"I'm not his friend nor keeper. How should I know?" Cinder Burn replied coldly as if Dam Son meant rubbish to her. Though her outward demeanour was imperious, deep down, Cinder Burn was a caring Demi-Human. She usually suppressed that compassionate side of her to appear outstanding.
