Chapter 3 - To start

Within the kingdom and by natural law throughout the world, those who do not have talent must attend an ordinary school, while those who do have talents, attend magical schools, and depending on how strong they are, some get a special opportunity to attend the Nugrose imperial academy of arcane, one of the strongest academies with some of the most vital talents that the emperor himself built.

After being accepted into the academy, the headmaster as well as a few top teachers test you; it's similar to a college entrance exam; if you have a talent strong enough to get accepted into the academy, such as those with beast tamer talents who get accepted easily as long as they can tame a strong beast, the future becomes both easy and difficult in some ways.

Once accepted, the path to becoming a master in your field, as well as your future, only gets brighter.

After returning home, they saw the queen waiting for them in the living room and when she saw her daughter was injured, she glanced at the king, he turned away blowing whistle and his father chuckled.

"It was not his fault, don't kill him," Myalis said while patting her father's shoulder, the queen scoffed and then placed Myalis to sit down on the couch.

"I will take care of it, you guys need to be more careful," The queen said and the king nodded as she took care of the princess's wound.

After she was finished taking care of the wound, they went to get ready, and when they were finished, they hurriedly left the castle in a posh carriage drawn by beasts that the king had already tamed. The carriage took off, heading to the center of the city, where everyone had already started to assemble, waiting for the ceremony to start.

The queen sighed while they were on their way to the ceremony because she was worried about her daughter and knew that depending on your state of mind, the awakening stone could actually cause harm if you don't approach it with a clear mind.

"Myalis," Her brother called out, and she looked up to see a smile on his face.

"Relax, you shouldn't worry so much, like grandpa said, one doesn't have to have a talent in order to be special," He said and she smiled as the carriage came to a halt and they exited.

After doing so, the citizens that were already there, bowed and they waved at them with smiles on their faces then Myalis fixed her hair beside her face and sighed as she saw how the girls were drooling over her brother and he patted her on her shoulder and she glanced at him and exhaled deeply before going up on a stage where there were a few masters of more than one talent.

"Father, start the ceremony; I'm sure they're all tired of waiting by now." The king mumbled, and the queen chuckled, before the grandfather sighed and stepped forward, and the entire area fell silent to hear what he had to say.

"Myalis, you still have a choice but yet I will ask, do you understand the procedure and everything else you need to know about awakening and so on?" Her brother inquired.

"Yeah, I know it; most people do; it's one of the topics on which people tend to elaborate on all year." Her mother looked at her and lowered her head as she responded while clenching her right fist, knowing her daughter wanted to be a beast tamer as well.

Myalis looked at the building behind them where they had to go in to start the ritual and her eyes widened when she saw the shimmering awakening stone that was floating in the air and was gold in color as her grandfather gave his speech to the youngsters whose talents needed to be awakened and those whose talents were already awakened yet decided to take part.

"Hey, you need to stop smiling so much and take this ceremony seriously, am I clear?" The son and Myalis smiled apprehensively as the king asked him in a stern manner, drawing the attention of the others.

"Hey, what are you doing? Why are you being so fierce with them? Huh?" The queen asked as she leaned in closer to the king and he pulled back with a nervous smile on his face.

"I am sorry... I didn't mean to..." He said and the grandfather looked at them and smiled after he finished giving his speech.

"These two are no different from angry dragons..." The prince mumbled and Myalis chuckled, then their grandfather approached them and patted them on their heads with a grin on his face.

"Now, we will begin in a few minutes, take it to get yourselves ready, just a reminder, there is no need to be nervous, just try and relax, I wish you all the best," The king said and everyone smiled at them before turning to their family members who planned on taking part in the ceremony.

"Well, if it's not Kiniv, I'm curious what kind of talent you'll awaken this time, will it be pathetic?" A young lady inquired as she approached Kiniv and Myalis, who had exited the stage to avoid being in the way of those who had to enter the building once they are prepared.

"I thought you backed out of appearing here today to see what talent you will awaken, think you will be an amazing beast tamer like most of your family?" When she asked, his eyes narrowed and he chuckled.

"Oh, if it isn't used to be fatty.... Been a while sweetheart," He said and the girl gasped and her face became bright red, Myalis chuckled as a smirk appeared on his face.

Kiniv was not a bully and was friendly to most people, but the girl who approached him was a friend of his before she became popular and a bully.

She came from a powerful family, and since they began to forge their own paths in life, everything, including them, had changed and what pushed her to be like that more was the fact that Kiniv had already awakened the ability to use fire when he was little and she had only lately awakened a talent but yet came to the ceremony to see if she could strength it or get another ability, despite that, she was a strong warrior.

Her name was Miya and she was tall, had long black, silky hair, slim, fair skin and blue eyes.

"You are mean... How can you say that? Have you no respect?" She asked.

"Eh? Myalis, why don't you teach him some manners?" She asked as she approached Myalis, she sighed, then glanced at her brother.

The girl was about to touch Myalis when her brother hit her hand away, she looked at him and he smiled at her.

"I don't want you to influence her, she doesn't deal with people like you..." He said and the girl's brows started twitching as she stared at him, feeling the urge to hit him and he knew it but deliberately tormented her since she was the one that started it first and Myalis knew what he was doing and wanted to laugh but held back.
