Myalis had been worried about what would happen at the awakening ceremony since before they left home. Still, despite that, she enjoyed watching them quarrel over trivial matters because it helped in cheering her up, and when her brother saw her smile, he looked at her and she sighed before patting him on the shoulder.
"You two are like a dog and a cat, I'm pretty sure a dog and a cat can get along sometimes, keep me out of your lover's quarrel," Myalis said as she turned to leave.
"Lovers quarrel?" Both of them asked and she looked back at them.
"Me and him? Never, he is so irritating," The girl said as she was about to grab him and he dodged her.
"Do you see a bug around here somewhere, it's trying to get me?" He asked, Myalis smiled, then looked at the girl and she flinched.
The girl then glanced at him and smiled before tapping him on the shoulder and he looked at her, wondering what she wanted with him.
"What do you want now?" He asked.
"Let's place a bet," She responded, prompting Myalis to start backing away. Her brother turned to look at her and she grinned, after which she went to her mother and he exhaled deeply since he didn't want to be left with the girl due to how irritating he found her.
"I see, I will let you know that there ain't no way in hell I am making any kind of bet with you, keep on dreaming, pretty sure my talent will be far more superior than yours," He said before walking away and pushing out his tong at her, mocking her, her cheeks flushed as she gnashed her teeth and then turned away from him and at the same time, people began forming a line to start the awakening ceremony.
Before anyone could enter the building, two large tigers exited it and stood at the entrance and they gasped upon seeing them, since no one knew that they belonged to the royal family.
The king was going to tell them that the beasts were harmless but before he could do so, some people began acting out and Myalis's eyes narrowed as she gnashed her teeth as one of them pushed her father and was about to attack the beasts, since those that the king tamed were quite intimidating and Myalis scoffed and punched him to the ground and the king looked at her and her brother smirked then the guy looked up at her and she gave him an intimidating look due to which he flinched in fear.
"They will not harm you, I hit you because you are building fear among the others for no reason, you don't have to fear them, either stay and go through the process or you can just leave," She said and the king smiled at her and the people began exchanging glances as she looked at the beasts then they bowed their heads and she patted them before entering the building and her mother smiled.
When everyone realized that the beasts meant no harm to them , they all calmed down. However, some people were still frightened due to the size of the creatures, because large beasts occasionally become out of control and attack, sometimes even killing, humans.
Kiniv said as he entered the building, "Father.... You could have chosen a few others, they scared people," and the king laughed because he knew his beasts were not like others then they all entered the building and took their seats.
The king and his father approached the stone and created a barrier around it and everyone got confused as to what was going on when they realized that they couldn't see through the barrier nor the stone anymore.
The king knew he had to explain it because it had never been done before, but he didn't mind because he didn't want anyone else to be able to see other people's talents without their consent.
The king left after they had finished setting up the barrier and explained what was going on to everyone and they all understood that they had no right to know about another's talents without their consent and that he didn't want those participating to feel uneasy with others watching them.
When he finished explaining, he along with his family and a few of the other royals as well as teachers from different schools and academies along with a few of the people that worked with the stone and a few masters went to a special room within the building where only they can see those who enter the barrier's talent.
They all took a seat in the room and instructors began sending the students in to see if they can or what talent they will awaken, with no one being able to see them, they were more relaxed and that made the king happy.
Many had awakened great talents, but few had no talent at all and upon seeing them crying, Myalis felt and lowered her head, lost in her own thoughts and finally it was her brother's turn.
When he got up from his seat to go, he saw she was not focusing and he sighed, then left the room and went within the barrier.
He looked at the stone before him and took a deep breath, then exhaled deeply and her eyes widened when she realized it was his turn and she flung up from her seat and went by the window where she could see him clearly and he smiled when he saw she was looking at him.
The king and the others gasped as soon as he pressed his palm against the stone, which then lit up bright blue and briefly reflected on the barrier.
Their grandfather said," He has awakened the beast talent," and Myalis smiled. Her brother then removed his hand from the stone and turned to face her with a worried expression, and she winked at him before stepping away from the window and he went back to them.
The fact that her brother had discovered a talent that was more potent than most of the men in their family made Myalis happy.
"How did I do guys?" He asked after entering the room while others took their turn.
"You did great," His mother responded.
"Your beast talent is more powerful than most within the family, congratulations," The king said and the prince smiled then they all congratulated him and when they were finished, he turned to Myalis and she looked at him and then smiled.
"How did I do, sis?" He asked with a gentle smile on his face.
"You did great, just as expected, you know, I always believed in you, congratulations," She responded and he hugged her then she patted him on the back and the queen smiled at them.
