Alexander laid aside listening to what his brother had to say. He couldn't believe Jeffery still had the guts to show his face to his brother after all he had done to them. Even though he was grateful inwardly that the man had actually showed up, he still couldn't get rid of his hatred and anger towards Jeffery.
He could already tell without Daniel informing him that the rescue was definitely for Jeffery's selfish gain. It wasn't really as if Jeffery Bruce had a heart to care to for anyone apart from himself.
Even if he had one, it was probably cold and empty. There was no way someone who took his wife's life without a second thought could care for anyone else.
Daniel had informed him about the meeting that was to hold tomorrow. And even though he wasn't a fan of meetings and school, he had to go just because of Daniel. He would do anything to keep his brother out of trouble and out of that school
If the Infernal Judgement was after him, then it was probably best that the boy remained indoors often. They might already have their home address by now, but it was best to assume that they didn't.
From what Daniel had told him, their attacker was an elder of the Infernal Judgement. And as of now Alexander knew he wasn't close to an elder in terms of power. If they were to be attacked, the only hope they had at winning was if Wilson decided to help. But if he decided otherwise, then they were as good as dead.
Elders of the Infernal Judgement had Archdemons at their disposal. And in his current strength, there was absolutely nothing he could do against an Archdemon. The only thing they could do against an Archdemon was wait to survive long enough until the summoner's stamina runs out. Or cancel the summoning. Apart from these two options, there was nothing else they could do.
Daniel could sense the anger off of his brother the instant he mentioned about their father. He didn't blame him though, he wasn't the one that was attacked and almost killed by their own father. So he really can't say that he knew exactly how Alexander felt.
He might have a soft spot for his father even after all his crimes and wrongdoings, but the same couldn't be said for Alexander. He was the kind that loved with all his heart, and when he hated someone, he does so with all his heart too.
Alexander had already accepted to act as his guardian tomorrow. And hopefully, Alexander might be able to save him from further trouble. It was a good thing that Angus hadn't been discovered because he had absolutely nobody to stand in for him. Wilson could have done the work, but his size and appearance was not convincing enough, not even in the smallest of ways.
Daniel still found it hard to believe that such a being existed, and was even amongst them. Wilson's existence made him question if they were stronger beings that existed elsewhere around the world.
He used to think that sorcerers were the highest beings in existence, but Wilson's existence completely proved him wrong. Even though Wilson was more of an extraterrestrial being, it still didn't change that they could be more beings like him around. If they were, then he sincerely hoped that they were as good and calm as Wilson.
If beings as strong as this turned bad and decides to go rogue against humanity, then it would mean the end of them all.
He decided to stroll off from his hypothetical theories, and focus more on reality. He had only come to realize the massive difference between his father now, and before.
The Jeffrey that protected him from James was way more different than the one that faced Carlos. From their exchange with Carlos, he could tell Carlos was leagues above James. But the same Carlos had fled from battle without even making an attempt to fight back.
The man fleeing only attested to how dangerous Jeffery had become. If he wasn't stopped sooner or later, then stopping him might become impossible.
Alexander sat up from where he laid. He had just sensed another being amongst them and he immediately knew who this aura and energy belonged to. She must have some nerves showing up after aiding Jeffrey end his mother's life.
"Show yourself Rose" He commanded the still invisible woman who only began to materialize after his command came through.
"I see your senses haven't dulled a bit Alexander" Rose commended while taking her elegant stance.
"You must be really brave showing up here after what you've done. It seems you want to cease existing very badly" Alexander meant his words as a threat, but the calmness in his tone made it difficult to perceive.
His casual emotionless face had been overtaken by one of anger and hate. His hatred leaked into his aura which engulfed the entire atmosphere around them. It was clear without words that he was ready to wipe this woman out of existence.
Rose flinched at the boy's words but manages to conceal her fears good enough so they wouldn't notice. Alexander was way stronger than her in this state and it would be advisable for her to keep her cool and not misbehave. She wanted to be revived and if she got cleansed away from existence before then, then that meant that her plans were all in vain.
"Easy now Alexander. I am bound by Jeffrey's spell. I either help him or I perish" Rose explained with a bit of charisma. She had hoped that her explanation would fetch her a little bit of sympathy and mercy, but it didn't.
She immediately shielded herself from a spear constructed constructed out of blood, that had suddenly charged at her from nowhere. Alexander didn't care about her explanations. All he wanted for her was death.
Daniel immediately rose from his position and stopped his brother from firing more shots at the lady. If they were to fight here, they would end up wrecking the place. And besides, making Rose their ally could go a long way in their plan to take Jeffery down.
Alexander shot his brother a wicked glance. He was almost tempted to knock the boy aside but managed to contain his rage. He had almost lost himself for a moment and would have hurt his brother if he hadn't regained himself on time. He took a deep breathe and cooled himself down, before slowly cancelling out the ball of energy that had formed in his palm.
"What are you doing here Rose?" Alexander questioned after managing to cool down. He didn't trust her one bit, and he hoped his little brother wasn't planning on putting his trust in this lady. She was manipulative, deceptive and a dangerous woman when she was alive. And he could bet that she hadn't changed one bit even as a summoning.
"I've come to make a deal with you people since it seems that have no hope of accomplishing my goals with Jeffery" Rose answered before lowering her barrier.
As expected, this wasn't a selfless act, she was going to ask for something in return for any help she promised to offer them. Alexander decided not to draw conclusions first, and ask what plan she had in mind.
"Let's hear what you have to say" Alexander authorized before returning to his seat.
"I will help you retrieve the book, and in return...You will bring me back to life" Rose offered.
"We decline!"
"We accept!"
The brothers yelled in contrast.
Alexander turned towards his younger brother. Daniel was still young and new to the sorcery world, and didn't know the threat that accompanied bringing this woman back to life.
"I'm confused boys, which answer am I to take?" Rose asked faking a confused look.
"We decline!" Alexander made clear before Daniel could say another word. He had heard and read too much about this woman. And he knew about her and how dangerous she is, better than his inexperienced brother. She was an even bigger threat when she was alive than Jeffery is now. Bringing her back to life meant putting the whole of humanity and the sorcery world in danger. He would rather deal with Jeffery than deal with this woman.
Daniel was dumbfounded by his brother's answer. This could be their only chance at retrieving the book and stopping their father, and his brother was turning down the offer without thinking twice. He was confused, but he didn't want to oppose the decisions of his senior.
Rose scoffed in rage inwardly, she hadn't expected this to be easy. But at the same time she didn't expect a straight 'no' right on point. She knew that Jeffery was being careful not to revive her. He wanted to be sure that he was a lot more powerful than she was when she was alive. And he was speedily reaching her power level back then.
His plan was to surpass her, then revive and subdue her once more to become his servant. And Rose didn't like serving under anybody at all. She needed to be revived before Jeffery could surpass her, and her only hope was through his sons.
"I'll advise you take your time to reconsider. Making haste desicions don't always e..." She paused at the familiarity and overwhelming power she just felt now.
'it can't be..... Impossible!' she yelled Inside. There was no way this was real. She couldn't forget this energy, dead or alive. There was no mistakes, this aura and pure energy definitely belonged to one of angels that had cursed her.
"RAPHAEL!!"
